THE UNLUCKY, LUCKY CLOVER
Although now the Magic Mountain was snow-capped, on the slopes below the little ponies still picked flowers...
"I just love snowball marshmallows," cried Sweetie. "But we mustn't eat too many or we'll be ill!"
"Heavy hooves, I still can't find a lucky four-leaf clover," sighed Bubbles. "It would be fun to grant wishes just once!"
"Hey, wait a minute... this has four leaves... but look at the red spots! I've never seen one like that before!"
"Never mind the spots... it's got four leaves... that's all I want!" Bubble said. "Now I shall grant wishes all day!"
"Bubbles, dint pick that spotted clover!" called Tootsie in alarm. "It was planted by the Spotted Sorcerer to cause trouble... you see, it..." But the wind wafted Tootsie's voice away, and Bubble didn't hear her calling.
"Make a wish, make a wish," urged the ponies. "I wish for a stone for Sparkler's collection!" cried Bubbles.
"Ouch, my poor head," cried Sparkler. "That stone hit me... and what a horrid colour... I don't want that, Bubbles!"
"Pony feathers, what went wrong?" cried Bubbles. "I'm sorry, Sparkler. I'll wish for some apples for Applejack!"
"I want apples not pears," said Applejack, rushing up. "And just look, these pears smell horrid... they're rotten!"
"It's starting to snow... I wish we all had an umbrella," said Bubbles. "Hurray, this wish is all right!"
"No it isn't, the umbrellas are full of holes!" cried Sparkler crossly. "We're all getting very wet!"
Bubbles looked upset. "I wish the snow would stop," she sighed. It did... but it started to rain heavily instead!
Suddenly Tootsie arrived. "That's an unlucky clover," she cried. "I know," sobbed Bubbles. "Take it away!"
"It won't leave my hoof... oh, what am I going to do?" said poor Bubbles. "Wish it to stay forever," cried Tootsie.
"But..." began Bubbles. "I wish it would stay forever... pony feathers, look, the spots are disappearing! Hurray!"
"The spotty clovers always grant the opposite of what you ask for," explained Tootsie. "So when you asked the spots to stay... they disappeared. Now you really have got a lucky clover. Try it out!" Bubbles wishes for lots of lovely things for the ponies... and they all came true!
Will Confetti get to the church on time?
On Confetti's Wedding Day, all the ponies thought she would make a lovely bride. According to tradition, she had decided to wear something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. An 'old' ribbon. A beautiful 'new' white wedding dress and veil. A 'borrowed' lacy garter. And a 'blue' flower-shaped brush. Not forgetting the ring, of course. Or her four pretty shoes. Today is a very special day for Confetti. One of the happiest days of her life. Confetti, together with her complete Wedding Bells outfit, is available in toyshops at £9.99 or less. Colours and content may vary from those shown.
LICKETY-SPLIT'S LONG GALLOP
"Majesty," said Lemon Drop one day as the royal little pony called at the Show Stable to have a chat about the Spring Show, "have you noticed how plump Lickety-Split is getting? It's all those ice-cream cornets and ice-cream cakes she keeps making... and sampling before she gives them away! If something isn't done soon, she'll not be able to jump through the floral hoops. Just imagine, a little pony stuck in a hoop! How everyone would laugh at us!" "Yes, she only just managed to squeeze through the Pony Hole in the hawthorn hedge yesterday," Majesty agreed. "We can always tell if our little ponies are putting on weight with the hole...it's as good as a pair of scales!" "Shall we ask her to stop making ice-cream?" asked Lemon Drop rather doubtfully. "It does seem a pity...she promised me some lemon sorbet today!" Majesty laughed. "I should hate not to have a taste of your lemon sorbet," she chuckled. "No, I have a better idea. Have you forgotten what day it is tomorrow?" Lemon Drop shook her head and laughed. "We'll send Lickety-Split off on a Long Gallop," she cried. "How shall we do it?" "Leave it to me," replied Majesty and she went back to Dream Castle to write a very important letter. Next morning Majesty called Lickety-Split to the castle. "I want you to take an important letter for me to Goblin Greensleeves," she said. "Now do take care, Lickety-Split. Don't lose it!" "Happy hooves, I'll run as fast as I can. I've never been a Little Pony Messenger before," cried Lickety-Split proudly. And off she set. But, when she arrived at Goblin Green and gave the letter to Goblin Greensleeves he opened it and shook his head. "This letter is for Fairy Stitchwort over in Flower Bower," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "Off you go!" "I'm sure Majesty said it was for Goblin Greensleeves!" muttered Lickety-Split as she galloped away to Flower Bower. "It's not for me... it's for Wizard Wando over in Feathery Fields," said Fairy Stitchwort, with a secret little smile after she had read the letter. "I'm getting quite tired now," muttered Lickety-Split. And she got even more tired as she set off back to the Show Stable. When at last Lickety-Split arrived back at the Show Stable, she found Majesty and several of her little pony friends waiting for her. "I've taken this letter everywhere... here, the wizard says it's for you! Do read it and tell me what it says," she begged Lemon Drop. "I'm quite worn out!" Lemon Drop opened the letter. "On the first day of April, little ponies have great fun, Sending on a journey a very special one. The letter tells the reader to send her on a mile, Let Lickety-Split, our pony, gallop on a while!" She chuckled. "Do you mean I've run and run for nothing? What a silly trick!" cried Lickety-Split crossly. "Pony feathers, please don't be cross," begged Majesty. "Surely you remember we send a pony on a long gallop on April Fun Day? And I did have a special reason for sending you this year. Look, try to jump through Lemon Drop's spring flower hoop!" "I'm too tired... er... I don't think..." began Lickety-Split, remembering the tight squeeze in the hawthorn hedge. "Well, I suppose I might try... pony feathers, I've jumped through with lots of room to spare! I must have suddenly got thinner!" "You see, it was worth your long gallop," laughed Majesty. "It's made you lose weight."
FIREFLY'S SPECIAL QUEST
Firefly and North Star are flying east in search of Majesty's third shoe which has been stolen by the Whirlwind Wizard.
"We have reached the Land of Dolls... look, here is our old friend Mandarin Orange waiting for us!" cried Firefly. "I do hope he can help us to find the shoe!" "He is the wisest doll in the land," said North Star. "He will know what to do!"
"Welcome, dear friends," smiled Mandarin Orange. "I know why you are here... and where she shoe can be found!"
"Where is it?" asked the ponies eagerly. "In the Pagoda of the Golden Dragon, who guards it well!" cried the mandarin.
"We must brave the dragon and get the shoe!" said North Star. She opened the door and went inside. A real dragon was there.
"Who dares come seeking the golden shoe?" roared the dragon. "We do... it is Majesty's shoe, and we want it back!" cried the ponies.
"What will you give me for the shoe?" asked the dragon. "Whirly Wizard said I was to ask for lots of gold!"
"We have no gold!" said Firefly. "Will you take these oranges instead?" asked the mandarin. The dragon laughed.
"Oranges... I don't want... flames and fire! They're real golden oranges!" "With jewel pips!" added the mandarin with a smile.
The ponies turned to leave but suddenly a voice cried: "Put my golden shoe down!" It was the evil Orange Empress Queen.
"Run, ponies, while I pit my magic against the queen empress!" cried the mandarin. "Quickly now, over the bridge by the lake!"
The little ponies ran out over the bridge. "Which way do we go?" asked North Star. "I don't know!" said Firefly. "Ohh...
"Heavy hooves, the Empress is coming after us... what shall we do?" wondered Firefly. "We must take to the air!" decided North Star. "Oh, we can't... she's put a spell on our wings! How can we get back to Pony Land now?"
"Throw me the shoe, I'll take it back!" called the frog. "The empress's spells are powerless in water. The mandarin knows that!"
"Off you go," cried Mandarin Orange. "Fly westward to find the last shoe. Good luck... you will need it, my little ponies!"
Will the little ponies succeed in finding the last magic shoe? Find out in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY.
Confetti was very sad, she didn't have anything to do. Then she had an idea. "I know," she said, "I'll visit Majesty!"
So off she went to Dream Castle. "Come in!" cried Spike the dragon when she arrived. "Majesty has been waiting for you."
"Look what I've found," said Majesty. "It's called My Little Pony and Friends and it's on sale every two months."
"Will you read me a story?" asked Confetti. "Of course I will!" replied Majesty. Confetti laughed and giggled while Majesty read to her.

BABY LUCKY AND THE DAFFODOWN DILLIES
Early one morning as Baby Lucky was walking towards Daffodil Dale he heard someone crying loudly.
As Baby Lucky drew nearer he saw a crowd of little people all looking very upset. They ran towards the baby pony for help.
"We are the Daffodown Dillies and each year we take a chest of gold to the Flower Sorcerer," explained the leader.
"Look in the magic pool to see what happened!" cried the little people. "The Wicked Weed trolls stole it from us. They will take it back to their underground cave...and the Sorcerer will not be able to make any daffodils this year. He uses the coins to make the flowers!"
"Two of you must show me the way to the trolls' cave and I will try to help," promised Baby Lucky. "Let's go quickly."
"We must go through the dark hole," cried the Daffodown Dillies looking afraid. "Look, there it is, near the ponies!"
The two ponies were angry when they heard about the stolen gold. "We must all help to get it back," said Hopscotch. "I wish your hopscotch sign could help, horseshoes are supposed to be lucky," said Baby Lucky. "Happy hooves, what's happening?" The shape's turning into..."
"...a magic magnet!" laughed Hopscotch. "Take the magnet with you... and you'll be able to get back the gold!"
"Off you go through the hole," cried Magic Star touching her wand. The hole shimmered and a pair of stepladders appeared.
Down and down went Baby Lucky and the two Daffodown Dillies until at last... "There they are!" cried Baby Lucky.
"Give us back our gold," called the Daffodown Dillies. "We want it for our daffodils!" "We'll bury it!" said the trolls.
"Take it if you can," jeered the trolls. "Happy horseshoes, I'll do just that ...and I wish it would float right back to the Sorcerer in Daffodown Dilly Dale!" cried Baby Lucky. "Magic magnet take the gold away... horseshoe magnet do what I say!"
"You'll never get away!" screamed the trolls. "Yes, we will, you've forgotten you're all wearing silver buttons on your suits!"
Baby Lucky and his friends climbed the ladder and everywhere above, daffodils bloomed... thanks to Baby Lucky!
My Little Pony Club Page
Hello, Julia Northcolt from Polgate, East Sussex, sent this photo. If you look closely, you will see the four-posted bed she made for me! We get lots of letters from club members telling us about the things they make, so we thought we'd give you some more ideas. If you look at the diagrams below, you'll see how to make a lucky clover necklace and a brooch. I'm sure those of you who own Tootsie will make them for her, but all the little ponies like them. Do write and tell me if you make some clover jewellery.
do not cut here.
Back of clover badge
Fold a strip of felt or paper as shown in diagram A. Draw your clover shape as shown in diagram B. Cut around it, being careful NOT to cut at the folded edges. Open your clover out and you'll have a clover necklace. If you've used paper, instead of felt, you could colour each clover a different colour. The clover badge is easy to make; just cut it out from paper and stick a safety pin onto back of it with sellotape.
OUR NEXT ISSUE IS ON SALE FROM APRIL 9th!
Majesty makes an indoor playground for all the little ponies! The baby ponies give the show stable a spring clean. North Star and Firefly are blown off course as they search for Majesty's final shoe! See you soon!

FIZZY AND THE FLYING FISH
It had been raining for days and days in Pony Land and the little ponies were feeling restless. So Majesty twirled her horn and made them an indoor playground.
"Happy hooves! Did you see how quickly I came down the ski slope?" laughed Posey. "I did," said Applejack. "I wasn't sure if you'd be able to stop." "It's easy when you know how," explained Posey. "I think I'll have a go now," said Applejack.
"If Applejack can do it, so can I," sang Fizzy. And before Posey could stop her she danced behind Applejack.
"Fizzy, don't be silly. Come down!" cried Posey. "Applejack is sure to skate backwards." Posey was quite right.
Fizzy didn't have time to turn round as Applejack whizzed nearer and nearer to her. "I'll have to jump!" shrieked Fizzy. "Watch out, everyone." Somehow, as Fizzy jumped, Applejack managed to skate under her. The baby ponies cheered loudly.
But Posey didn't cheer. She was very cross. "You might have caused a bad accident," she said.
"Well we didn't!" retorted Applejack, who secretly was feeling rather shaky. "You're both stupid!" stated Posey.
"Let's go out and play," whispered Fizzy. "It's raining, stupid," giggled Applejack. "We'll have to borrow an umbrella."
"The water's halfway up my legs," said Applejack, as she and Fizzy hurried across the courtyard.
"Just look at all the water streaming down the hill into Dream Valley," said Fizzy. "Let's turn the umbrella upside down and use it as a boat," suggested Applejack. "We can float to the bottom of the hill." "What a lovely idea," laughed Fizzy.
The ponies were almost at the bottom of the hill when Fizzy gasped loudly. "Look! There's a fish flying towards us!"
"Fish don't fly," said Applejack. "Oh, heavy hooves, we're capsizing!" The umbrella jerked as the fish flew into it/
"What a jolly folly," said the fish. "I am sorry. You're not hurt, are you? Look at your eyes!" he added, staring at Fizzy.
"What's wrong with her eyes?" asked Applejack as she splashed over to her friend. "They twinkle," said the fish.
"I live in a cave with four little ponies whose eyes twinkle like that," continued the fish. "They won't come out, they think everyone will laugh at their twinkling eyes." "Do you live in the Cave of Jewels?" asked Applejack. "We do," said the fish.
"Applejack, they must have been left behind that day you rescued me and the others from the Jewel Wizard!" shouted Fizzy.
"We must go and get them," said Applejack. "It's a long way to the cave, though." "I know a short cut," laughed the fish.
Before long they arrived at the cave. The fish called loudly, "Speedy, Locket, Sky Rocket, Tic Tac Toe! Come here, I've brought a jolly folly for you." One by one, the four twinkle-eyed ponies came to the entrance. They stared in delight at Fizzy.
"Nobody will laugh at you," said Fizzy. "Come on, we're taking you home." "Jolly Folly, I'll lead the way!" cried the fish.
"We lost the umbrella but we found some new friends," said Applejack, when they arrived at Dream Castle.
SHOW STABLE TIDY-UP DAY
"Come along, baby ponies, it's time we gave the Show Stable a spring-clean," said Lemon Drop. "It's looking rather shabby after all the rain and snow we've had this winter. Baby Gusty, bring the broom. Baby Lucky, get a pail of soft water from the Waterfall. Baby Lickety-Split, go and ask Confetti for some soft paper dusters." Off went the baby ponies and soon everyone was hard at work. Baby Lucky washed the floor and Baby Lickety-Split polished it until they could both see themselves in it. "It looks like a deep pool... I wish it was... all this hard work has made me hot... Happy-go-Lucky, I wish I could cool down a bit," cried Baby Lucky. "Happy hooves, Baby Lucky, it's turned into a deep river... come on... let's go in," said Baby Lickety. "Pony feathers, it's a mint ice-cream river. It tastes delicious! You are clever!" "What did I do?" asked Baby Lucky looking rather puzzled. "Oh, Baby Lickety, you've drunk up all the river... it's just a polished stable floor again," he giggled. "Let's go and see if Baby Gusty has swept up all the fallen leaves... the wind has blown lots off the trees today," said Baby Lickety-Split. "Pony feathers, yes, look, everything has been swept clean now... and Baby Gusty is dancing with her broom!" "Don't forget to polish my cups, I don't want them to look dull," cried Lemon Drop who was busy checking her new fence. "Oh, pony feathers, I forget to get any polish. No what shall we do?" "I've got lots of silver ribbons... could we use those?" asked Baby Ribbon. "We can try... Happy-go-Lucky, I wish that they were silver polishing ribbons, just like the ones Majesty makes for cleaning her magic shoes," muttered Baby Lucky to Baby Gusty, as Baby Ribbon handed everyone a bunch of ribbons. "Hey, Baby Lucky, you've done it again... happy horseshoes! We've all got a silver polishing cloth," laughed Baby Gusty. "The cups will soon shine as bright as ever now!" "Let's see who can get the brightest shine," cried Baby Lickety-Split as she started to polish her cup. The babies polished and polished until every cup in the Show Stable gleamed as bright as the new silvery moon. "You've all done really well," cried Lemon Drop looking very pleased. "Every cup deserves a prize... in fact you all deserve a special rosette... a silver one!" "Oh, pony feathers, I've no silver ribbons left," sighed Baby Ribbon. "I haven't any ribbons at all!" The baby ponies all looked disappointed. "Can't you do anything?" asked Lemon Drop to Baby Lucky. The baby boy shook his head. "I can't..." he began. Then Baby Lucky stopped. Coming towards him was tiny Sammy Snail and... as he crawled along Sammy left a silver trail behind him! "Oh, Happy-go-Lucky, Sammy, you've come along just at the right moment," cried Baby Lucky happily. "What a lucky little pony I am... Snail trail of silver hue, change to ribbons of silver too! A rosette of silver for one and all, and decorate Lemon Drop's stable stall!" "Pony feathers, we've all got a silver rosette... and how pretty the Show Stable looks decked out with silver ribbons," cried the little ponies. "Well done, Baby Lucky!" "Oh, happy horseshoes, I'm just lucky that Sammy came along and my magic rhyme worked," said Baby Lucky shyly. But we know better, don't we?
FIREFLY'S SPECIAL QUEST Final Part
Firefly and North Star are flying west to find Majesty's final shoe which has been stolen by the Whirlwind Wizard.
"Firefly, we're flying back to Pony Land!" said North Star. "Your compass must be wrong!" cried Firefly. "Check it!"
"My compass is never wrong," said North Star. "Watch out, the wind pixies are trying to blow us off course!"
"Why are you doing this? We thought you were our friends!" cried the ponies. "We are, look inside the cloud!"
"It's Whirly Castle where the wizard lives!" said Firefly. "Look, there he is at the window, holding the shoe...and laughing!"
"Whirly, give us back Majesty's shoe!" cried the ponies. "Never, this is one shoe that she will never see again!" mocked Whirly.
He pointed his finger and poor North Star and Firefly whirled round and round until they were quite dizzy.
Back at Dream Castle Majesty saw what was happening in her magic mirror. "Oh, my poor friends!" shouted Spike. "Majesty, can't you do something?" pleaded Lemon Drop and Cotton Candy. "It's time that bad Whirly Wizard was taught a lesson!"
Majesty nodded. Softly she sang, "Whirly's castle whirl and whirl, wicked wizard, whirl and twirl! Soon you will beg of me...to stop and set you free! And ask the ponies to take my shoe to me!" And round and round twirled the castle...and the wizard!
"What's happening?" asked Firefly. "I think the wizard's having a whirl of a time," giggled North Star.
"Please stop, my head's spinning. Here, take the shoe!" wailed the wizard, as he whirled round yet again.
"Thanks," cried North Star catching it, as Firefly touched her charm. The wizard stood still. "Oh, my poor head," he cried.
Now to get the shoe back to Majesty," said Firefly. "Look, the west wind has sent a wind balloon to take us home," said North Star.
And so, Firefly and North Star arrived home safely, their special quest completed. Majesty was waiting to welcome them.
"Well done," cried Majesty, putting her shoes on. "I don't think Whirly Wizard will steal them again... do you?"

ROCK CANDY MAGIC
Some of the little ponies had gone for a nibble up the delicious Rock Candy Mountain where every kind of sweet grew.
"I do love it here," cried Baby Applejack, nibbling an apple from the toffee apple tree. "I think I'll stay here instead of going back to the Lullaby Nursery." "Pony feathers, you won't...little baby ponies sleep in beds!" said Magic Star.
"Please let her stay. I get so lonely up here by myself. I am the only Candy Floss fairy on the mountain."
"Your poor little fairy," cried Magic Star. "I'll grant each pony a wish so that they can make you a sweet companion!"
Baby Lickety-Split wished first...and suddenly a troop of ice-cream imps appeared. "You feel cold!" said the baby.
Lemon Drop wished hard and two cross looking ladies appeared...and jumped over a lollipop bush...just like Lemon Drop!
"You've forgotten to build us a house," they grumbled to Lemon Drop. "No, I haven't," she replied. "It's over there, made from Lemon Drops!" "What sour faces they've got," Fairy Candy whispered to Cotton Candy. "I'll make you a sugar plum friend," Cotton Candy said.
Cotton Candy used her wish and down from the tree flew a lovely Sugar Plum Fairy. Candy was so pleased!
Magic Star sent word to Majesty and the royal pony twirled her horn so that the others could use their wishes.
Back on the mountain two red-cheeked gnomes appeared, wished there by Cherries Jubilee. They were old and wise.
"My name is Sweet Cherry and this is old Cherry Jubejube," said one gnome. "You're very welcome," said Fairy Candy.
"I know who wished for you!" cried Magic Star, as two pixies appeared. They had heart-shaped hats on their heads.
"Oh, thank you, everyone. Now I have lots of friends," said Fairy Candy. "Oh...what's happening?"
"Don't be afraid," laughed Magic Star. "It's just your final friends sent by Majesty...a troop of chocolate soldiers to protect you from any unwelcome visitors!" "What a wonderful gift," cried Fairy Candy. "But I promise...they will never chase you away!"

EASTER TIME IN PONY LAND
Peachy and Twinkles make a new friend!
Whatever is inside the egg?
PEACHY AND THE STRANGE EGG
Peachy and Twinkles were playing 'hide and seek' among the trees in the Weird Wood. Suddenly Twinkles gave a started mew!
"Come and see what I've found," the cat called to Peachy. "It's an enormous egg... but very pretty!"
"It's a rainbow egg... I've never seen one like that before," said Peachy. "Fruit and flowers, it's cracking open!"
Suddenly a tiny head popped up. "Help me out of the egg, please," said a voice. "I've been waiting ages to get out!"
"Who are you, and why are you here?" asked Peachy. "I'm Egbert, the rainbow egg and I've come to... oh, I've forgotten!"
"Forgotten what?" asked Peachy. "I've been sent for a very important reason, something to do with the Rainbow," said the egg.
The little ponies were very surprised to see Egbert. "You came out of an egg?" they said. "We thought birds came from eggs!"
"Egbert has come for an important reason... it's connected with the Rainbow... but he was in the egg so long, he's forgotten what it is," said Peachy. "We must all try and help him to remember! Think hard, everyone! What's special about the Rainbow?"
"Have you come to paint the Rainbow?" Sky asked. "It's pretty enough," Egbert said. "I like sliding down it into the pool."
Suddenly Majesty appeared with Magic Star. "I see you've arrived at last, Egbert. Off you go to the end of the Rainbow!"
"Peachy will show you the way! Hurry, someone is waiting for you...to make a wish come true," shouted Magic Star.
"What's at the end of the Rainbow?" asked Egbert. "I'm beginning to remember something...at the end of the..."
"I thought you were never coming," Liam cried crossly. "I made a wish long ago for a day's holiday...and wished for someone to mind my crock of gold! Magic Star promised it would come true!" "Now I remember, I've come to guard your gold!" laughed Egbert happily.
So off went Liam to play his harp at the elfin ball with Medley and Firefly...knowing his gold was safe,
And after the ball Liam spent the day riding the Rainbow and splashing in the pool...thanks to Egbert, the Rainbow Egg!
ONE MISTY MORNING
One morning Magic Star went for a walk through Goblin Glen. "How pretty the leaves look," she said to herself. "But pony feathers, how misty it's getting...I can scarcely see where I'm going. Oh, sorry, have I hurt you?" she cried anxiously as she suddenly stumbled against a figure in the mist. "No, it's all right, but I'm not as nimble on my feet as I used to be," replied a familiar voice. "Oh, it's Magic Star!" "Good morning, Goblin Greybeard," replied the little pony. "Where are you going on this wet morning? Is your bag heavy? Perhaps I can carry it for you?" "What a lot of questions for such a little pony," chuckled the goblin. "But, yes, my bag is heavy and I should be very grateful if you would carry it for me. As to where I'm going...well...I don't really know...I'm on my way to find a new house. You see, a terrible storm blew my old one away, and I'm getting too old to sleep outside under the stars in a fairy bower!" "I will walk with you and carry your bag," cried Magic Star at once. "The road will not seem as long if we walk and talk together." And so the little pony and the old goblin made their way through the mist but they didn't find any houses on the way. "Let me help you over the stile," offered Magic Star as they walked through the empty fields! As Magic Star held out her hoof to help the old goblin over the stile, she suddenly smiled to herself and the wand on her rump shimmered and whirled around. "Sun and stars, look, I've found a silver penny," cried Goblin Greybeard. "This will come in useful...it will help me buy something nice for my house when I find it!" "Can you hear something?" asked Magic Star suddenly. "It sounds like a cat! I do hope that Peachy and Twinkles haven't got lost on this misty morning. Twinkles...is that you?" "No...it's me...Greeneyes, the witch's cat," replied a little cat coming up to them out of the mist. I've run...I don't want to be a witch's cat anymore. I just want to be an ordinary cat and sit by the fire with someone who will be kind to me!" "Do you hunt mice?" asked the goblin. "Oh no, I like mice...that is why the witch used to get angry with me!" sighed the cat. "I like mice too," replied Goblin Greybeard. "And I like cats...escpecially black ones with green eyes. Would you like to be my cat and live with me in my house?" "Oh yes, please," cried Greeneyes and he rubbed his head against the old goblin. "Where is your house?" "I haven't found one yet," explained Goblin Greybeard sadly. "Happy hooves, Greybeard, look, there's an empty house over there," said Magic Star. "Where...I can't see anything?" cried the goblin. "Over there, near the shepherd's purse patch near the holly bush," replied Magic Star, and her magic wishing wand shimmered and shone. "Let's go inside," suggested Magic Star with a smile. Inside, the table was laid with a tasty meal, with a bowl of cream for Greeneyes, and a lovely old rocking chair was set by a glowing fire. "There's a bed and basket upstairs for you both," Magic Star told them. "And finally, here's a shepherd's purse flower to put your silver penny in. Don't be afraid to spend it, because whenever you do, another silver penny will always appear!" So, Greybeard and his cat settled happily in their new home. Often, when Magic Star went to call on them, she would hear the old goblin telling the family of mice, who lived in the cottage, of the wonderful misty, morning, when he met Magic Star!
POSEY AND THE MAGIC SEEDS
One morning Posey and Trickles were watering the flowers outside the Show Stable when suddenly...
"Someone's throwing something from that cloud!" cried Posey. "Try and catch it, Trickles!"
"Well caught, Trickles, what does it say?" cried Posey. "It says PLANT ME..." replied Trickles opening the packet.
"Let's plant them at once," cried Posey. "I love new flowers!" "I'm not sure..." began Trickles...but she was too late!
"I wonder how quickly the seeds will grow?" said Posey. "Pony feathers, look, they're pushing through the soil now!"
As they watched, the plant grew and grew until it reached the inside of the cloud. Suddenly there was a big laugh!
"Those seeds were magic...I wish we hadn't planted them!" cried Posey. "Heavy hooves, someone's coming down!"
It was the Cloud Giant who had always wanted to live in Pony Land but had never been able to get there...until now!
He tucked both little ponies under his arms and set off to Dream Castle. "I shall live there with Majesty now!"
Majesty had seen what had happened in her magic mirror. "Don't worry, ponies," she said. "I have a plan!"
Majesty met the giant outside her castle. "Do stay for lunch," she said kindly. "It's all ready for you!"
Majesty had provided a wonderful feast. "Delicious!" said Posey. "Cool and refreshing!" laughed Trickles. "My drink's like dish water and these cakes taste like sawdust," grumbled the giant. Spike smiled...now he knew why Majesty had twirled her horn!
"I don't think much of your food! I want to rest now...my climb down the cloud has made me tired," said the giant.
Baby Lucky has made sure the bed was big enough...but the baby ponies had filled it with pebbles!
The Cloud Giant didn't sleep a wink! "Pony Land is a terrible place...I'm going home!" he told Majesty crossly.
As the giant disappeared into his cloud the plant withered and died. "He won't be back," laughed Majesty...and she was right!
Which pony is going to be the belle of the Ball?
Gingerbread knows she's a real dazzler in her 'My Valentine' outfit. Which is why she has so many admirers. They can't keep their eyes off her lacy red dress and hat, her pretty red shoes and her red jewelled heart-shaped pendant. But she's got some competition. Fizzy looks stunning in her 'Scarlet Sensation' dress with matching shoes, sling-bag and jewelled pendant earrings. Sweetie is more than usually glamorous in her 'Movie Star' gown with a fur collar, necklace, blue shoes and jewelled sunglasses. And Masquerade is a real cracker in a number called 'Champagne & Lace', a lace-edged lilac gown and robe, lilac shoes, and a costume pearl necklace. Of course, at the Ball there is one thing all these well-dressed ponies have in common. They've all got a twinkle in their eye. 'Glamour & Glitter' ponywear outfits and Twinkle Eye ponies are now available for £5.50 or less each.
THE WONDERFUL HAT
Gypsy was feeling very happy as she danced along through Whispering Wood, shaking her tambourine to make a merry song.
Suddenly she stopped to listen. Someone else was playing a flute...but, pony feathers, what a sad tune it was!
"Why so sad, Will?" asked Gypsy. "The love birds have just told me that King Greedygold is offering the hand of his daughter..."
"...the Princess Goldie to whoever will pay her weight in gold and jewels! I fell in love with the princess when I mended the wheel of her carriage when it fell off...but I have no gold or jewels to offer as a dowry for her! I can only offer her love!"
"Pony feathers, a faint heart never won a fair princess," cried Gypsy. "We will go together to the Land of Gold!"
"But I have no money for food on the way," said Will. "Play your flute and we will eat," promised Gypsy.
And in the next market place a crowd threw silver coins as Gypsy and Will entertained them. "We can eat well tonight and sleep in a fine feather bed," laughed Will. "We will continue our journey to the Land of Gold tomorrow!"
"I am glad you are with me, Gypsy," said Will. "You have helped me earn a bagful of money already."
"That will not win the princess," sneered Prince Moneybags as he passed by on the way to the Land of Gold!
"We have a long way to go yet," soothed Gypsy. "Your fortunes may still prosper. Our way lies over the Money Mountain."
"Look, copper money trees!" cried Will, filling his pockets with the coins. "Leave them alone," advised Gypsy.
"No, I need them," replied Will crossly. "But, oh dear, how hot it is...this money is weighing me down!"
"You were right, Gypsy. Look, here are silver money trees," said Will, as he emptied his pockets...and his bag!
"Leave the silver," begged Gypsy. "No...but it is heavy," admitted Will, "and look, there are golden trees ahead!"
"Oh, pony feathers, you silly young shepherd! Will you never follow my advice?" grumbled Gypsy. "You need to travel light!"
But now the path grew narrow and hard to climb. First, the shepherd emptied his pockets of the gold...
...and then as a gust of wind tore at his fingers, he let go of the bag...and the coins rolled over a crevice!
At last they reached the top of the mountain and saw the Land of Gold lying below. "It will be easier going down," promised Gypsy. "But there are no money trees," Will said sadly. "My pockets are as empty as when I left home!"
"I have nothing that will help me win Princess Goldie," sighed Will. "Yes, you have," replied Gypsy. "Trust me, Will!"
"I feel silly wearing a hat like this," said the shepherd. "Everyone will laugh at me!" "You will laugh last," said Gypsy.
How will the hat help the young shepherd? Find out in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY.
My Little Pony Club Page
Hello, Majesty has just told me that club members often ask about the little ponies' birthdays. Well, Twinkles isn't a little pony but I thought I'd tell you the date of his birthday! It's April 30th. I'm making him a present to remind him of Egbert. If you look at the diagram below, you could make one for yourselves.
Next time your family has boiled eggs, ask if you can have the empty egg shells. Wash them very carefully then put them back into egg cups. Paint a face on each egg shell then, when the paint is dry, fill each shell with sifted sand. Ask Mum or Dad for some grass seeds and sprinkle a few seeds on the top of the sand. Water your seeds every day and soon your egg family will grow 'hair'.
OUR NEXT ISSUE IS ON SALE FROM MAY 7th!
Flutterbye meets a friendly spider. Will and Gypsy arrive at the Land of Gold. All the little ponies have their own Maytime show. See you soon!

THE MAYTIME SHOW
The Maytime show was starting...
"Pony feathers, that looks just like Clarence Cuckoo who lives in Majesty's clock in Dream Castle!" cried Spike.
Posey nodded. She had been busy making floral hoops for the baby ponies to jump through. They were very pretty.
The babies had a special obstacle course of their very own. And, thanks to Lemon Drop's coaching they all won a prize...a crystal cup made from pink sugar. "Delicious!" cried Baby Lickety-Split. "These are much better than silver ones!"
But Lemon Drop had made lots of very difficult jumps. There was one like a very steep mountain.
If a pony failed to clear the mountain jump, she landed in a pool if mud at the bottom. Some ponies didn't like getting muddy!
"I'm covered with mud!" said Glory crossly. "Happy hooves, this is fun. I'll try to jump again!" laughed Bubbles.
Lemon Drop was jumping very well until she stopped to scold Applejack for eating apples...and ran out of time!
"Come on, Posey, it's your turn now!" called Baby Lucky. "I'm sure to knock everything down," sighed Posey.
"Happy horseshoes, I wish that this was your lucky day," cried the baby boy pony...and Posey sailed over the jump!
"I'm sure it's Baby Lucky who's bringing me luck," said Posey. "Pony feathers, he's walking away...oh, my luck's gone!"
"Lustre and cream and seeds and pearls," laughed the Princess Pearl. "That was a funny joke, Spike!" and she laughed.
And, as she laughed, the happy tears of merriment of the Princess pony turned into real pearls. The baby ponies picked them up to make a necklace for Sparkler...a wishing necklace! But one pearl rolled into the well...and turned into a wishing well!
"It's a wishing well now, Posey!" roared Spike. "Make a wish and it will come true. I will!" cried Posey as she jumped.
"I wish that I can jump the well," cried Posey. "Let me jump higher than ever before. Let me win!"
And, as Posey jumped over the well, the water in it turned to a shimmering white...the colour of pearls!
So Posey won the silver cup and was crowned with May flowers...the champion little pony at the Maytime Show!

FLUTTERBYE AND THE SPIDER
Flutterbye, one of the pegasus ponies, was out one day carrying a message to the Flower Fairy Queen from Majesty. As she looked down she saw Septimus Spider crawling along through the hawthorn hedge which was bright with flowers. "Hello, Flutterbye, isn't it a lovely day?" called Septimus. But Flutterbye just tossed her head and pretended not to hear as she flew on. "I'm afraid Flutterbye does not like me," poor Septimus said to Baby Lucky. "She says that I am an ugly hairy creature with long, spindly legs...she says that I frighten her a little!" "That's silly...ponies look like ponies...and spiders look like spiders!" said Baby Lucky. "Besides, surely she sees the lovely webs that you spin...delicate as cobwebs. They make the trees and hedges like tables spread with pretty lace." "Why, thank you, Baby Lucky," cried Septimus looking very pleased. "The Flower Fairies like my webs too...they use the gossamer threads to trim their dresses and cloaks and to make light bedspreads to cover the fairy babies in their walnut shell cradles. All the other little ponies like me...I do wish that Flutterbye would forget how I looked and realise that I'm a good spider really." "Perhaps it may happen sooner than you think," said Baby Lucky. And do you know, it did! Later that very day Septimus was busy spinning a web for a roll of cloth for Fairy Stitchwort, the fairy dressmaker, near where Baby Lucky and the other baby ponies were enjoying a game of hopscotch with Hopscotch. "Well jumped, Baby Ribbon," cried Septimus, as the little pony landed on the last square with four hooves. "Oh, look, everyone, here comes Flutterbye...and she seems to be in trouble!" "What's wrong, Flutterbye?" called Baby Lucky. "I've hurt my wing and can't fly properly," cried poor Flutterbye, sounding quite frightened. "I'm going to crash down soon and hurt myself. Heavy hooves, can someone help me?" "Shall I run back to Dream Castle and get Majesty?" cried Baby Lucky to Septimus. "No, that will be too late. Baby ponies, I am going to try and spin a large web. You must all hold onto it tightly and let's hope that Flutterbye will land safely," cried Septimus. As Flutterbye dropped down, the baby ponies held onto the web which Septimus had woven. "Cobwebs and lace, I don't think it is big enough," cried Septimus. "Happy-go-Lucky, I wish it was as big as a blanket," whispered Baby Lucky. "Happy horseshoes, look, it's growing simply enormous! Hang on tightly, everyone, don't let it break!" And, as everyone held on tightly, Flutterbye dropped down and landed safely right in the middle of Septimus's web. "What a lucky little pony I am and so lucky to have my wish come true," cried Baby Lucky, as he helped Flutterbye out of the cobweb safety net. "And I'm a very lucky pony to have such a kind spider to make me a safety net when I was so horrid to him," said Flutterbye, looking very ashamed of herself. "Will you please forgive me, Septimus, and will you be friends with me?" "Oh, Flutterbye, of course I will...that's what I've always wanted!" said the spider in delight. "And I will bandage up your wing with my cobweb so that it will heal quickly. It will be so soft and gentle that you will not even know that you have a bandage on it!" And the next day when the woodland animals went down to the Flowery Fields to see the Flower Fairies pass by on their way to the wedding of Princess Carnation to the King of the Woodland Elves, there was Septimus Spider sitting on a hawthorn hedge chatting happily to his best friend, Flutterbye, the little pony!
THE WONDERFUL HAT Part two
Gypsy and Will the shepherd are on their way to the Land of Gold. Will has found a peculiar hat hanging from a tree...
"What use is a hat when I need gold for a dowry if I am to win Princess Goldie for my bride?" muttered Will crossly.
"Because it is no ordinary hat...it is the magic hat of plenty," replied Gypsy gently. "Soon you will see!"
"Humph, I'd rather have the money in my pocket," scoffed Will. "I'm tired and hungry...and where shall we sleep tonight? We have no money for a bed!" "We will sleep under the stars and the birds will sing you to sleep," said Gypsy.
"I'm too hungry to eat," muttered Will crossly. "And this tree trunk makes a hard pillow for my head!"
"Give me your hat and I will show you what a wonderful treasure you have," said Gypsy. "It is better than money!"
And, as Will watched, Gypsy shook her tambourine and sang: "Hat of Plenty, fill for me, Food-a-plenty let there be! A soft pillow for Will's head, to sleep as well as if in bed!" Out of the hat poured lots and lots of food...
"It's a magic hat," gasped Will in delight. "I've never tasted such food...and look at this lovely soft pillow!"
The nightingale sang Will to sleep, and he dreamed sweetly of the lovely princess he hoped to marry.
Next morning Will was eager to reach the royal palace. "Will, you need new clothes before we enter the palace," Gypsy said.
"Hat of Plenty, fill with clothes, doublet, tunic, princely hose, silk and satin, velvet, fur...
...decked with jewels rich and rare. Turn the shepherd into a gentleman, as quickly now as you can!" Out poured the finest clothes and soon Will looked as handsome as a prince. He put on the velvet hat which had come out of the Hat of Plenty.
"Take off that hat and put on your Hat of Plenty," ordered Gypsy. "It spoils my new appearance. I don't want to," cried Will.
"It may be a magic hat but it makes me look silly," said Will. "Everyone will laugh!" You're being silly!" cried Gypsy.
"We want to see the king," said Will boldly. "Not wearing that silly hat!" insisted the guard, laughing. Will stamped his foot.
"Heavy hooves, how dare you refuse us entry to the Palace!" Gypsy cried. "Majesty shall hear of this!" "Sorry," said the guard.
"The dowry weighing is in the throne room," said a footman. "But there is a long queue of suitors already."
At the door a herald announced their names. "Will the Shepherd and Gypsy the little pony," he called.
"Let the contest begin," commanded the king. "The one who gives my daughter's weight in gold shall take her for his bride!" "Gypsy, I am the last one in the queue...someone else will win before it is my turn!" said Will in despair.
What will happen now? Who will win the hand of Princess Goldie? Find out in the final part in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY.

THE WITCH'S GARDEN
Majesty and Spike were busy tidying up after the ponies had been for lunch at Dream Castle.
"Pony feathers, these bowls haven't been touched, I can't even remember seeing them either!" cried Majesty.
Just then Farmer Barleycorn from Nursery Rhyme Land came running up with Bessie the dairymaid. They looked upset.
"Majesty! Buttercup and Daisy my best cows have disappeared!" cried the farmer. "Everyone's waiting for their milk!"
"Has anyone seen Swift the hare?" called Sky the kingfisher. "All his woodland friends are looking for him!"
"Perhaps my ponies went over to Barleycorn Farm and are playing hide and seek with your cows," said Majesty. "I will come back with you and we will all have a really good look around." "Oh, thank you, Majesty," said Bessie.
But, as they reached the farm, Mrs Barleycorn ran out. "Barney the bull has disappeared now!" she cried.
"Did you see anyone near the farm?" asked Majesty. "I saw Witch Wanda on her broomstick!" said the farmer's wife.
"I think I am beginning to understand," said Majesty. "I think we had better go and see Witch Wanda...or rather, look in her garden!" "Flames and fire, do we have to?" cried Spike. "She's just a bad tempered old witch." "I'll go, I want my cows back," cried Bessie bravely.
"The witch isn't here," said Spike. "Neither are my cows or the little ponies," said Bessie sadly.
Suddenly Witch Wanda appeared. "Get out of my garden," she screeched. "Only with what belongs to me!" Majesty said.
Majesty twirled her horn. "Cherry Blossom, peach and apple tree, turn once more to what you should be!
"Bulrush, daisy, buttercup, hare, return to the true form you share!" "My cows, my cows!" cried Bessie.
And, thanks to Majesty's special magic, the missing ponies and Swift the hare, Buttercup and Daisy the cows and Barney the bull were found. But a new strange tree appeared in the garden...a wych tree that looked just like Wanda!
MAJESTY'S CORNER
Hello, I expect you wondered who Princess Pearl is in the first story. Well, we're all very excited here in Pony Land because I have six Princess ponies staying with me, in Dream Castle. Spike is more excited than any of us; the Princess ponies have brought their special friends with them. If you look at their baskets, you will see their names. They are too shy to come out yet, but I am sure you will soon meet the six little dragons from the Land of Dragons! Of course, Spike has his own basket, now he wants another one. One like the new dragons have got.
HOW TO MAKE A LANTERN BASKET
You need a piece of coloured paper, 30cm x 20cm. Fold it in half lengthways and make cuts in the paper as shown in the diagram. Snip off the end flap to make the tabs. Unfold the paper and roll it into the lantern shape. Glue the tabs in place. Cut a strip of paper for the handle and glue it on.
Make a round 'box' out of card for Spike to sit in. Slip the lantern shape over this box and glue the bottom edges of the lantern onto the underneath of the box.
To Make the Box
1. Make a tube shape from card, big enough for Spike to sit in.
2. Make a circle with four tabs, the circle should be just slightly larger than the tube shape.
3. Glue the circle to the end of your tube shape.
IN OUR NEXT ISSUE... Spike takes his new dragon friends to Fantasy Forest. Cotton Candy has a busy day as the Pony Land nurse. Wind Whistler meets some wandering wisps. Watch out for the My Little Pony magazine poster too - They're both on sale from May 21st!

SPIKE AND THE MAGIC PENCIL
Spike's six new dragon friends spent most of their time looking after the Princess ponies. But one day, Princess Sapphire called Spike into the throne room...
"The Princess ponies are..." began Fiery. "Fiery! I'll tell him," laughed Princess Sapphire. "You fizzle down a bit."
"Roaring dragons, tell me what?" demanded Spike. Just then, Princess Ruby ran in. "Sapphire, we're ready to go," she said.
"Princess Sapphire hasn't told Spike yet," said Sparks. "Told me what?" shouted Spike. "All the Princess ponies are going out for the day with Majesty," said Princess Ruby, before Princess Sapphire could speak. "We want you to take our dragons out."
"Do you mean it?" asked Spike. "We mean it," replied Princess Sapphire. "But please look after them properly."
"I'll keep a special dragon eye on your Smokey, because he's the youngest," smiled Spike. "Come on, dragons."
Spike decided to take his new friends to Fantasy Forest. They were just crossing the bridge over the Silver Stream when...
"There's Junk It, our travelling friend," said Spike. "He often brings us strange things from other lands."
"I've got something very strange for you this time," chuckled Junk It, feeling around in his bag of bits and pieces.
"Ah, here it is. A pencil shaped like a dragon." "Have you any paper?" pleaded Spike. "I can't wait to try it."
"I'm sorry, I haven't," laughed Junk It. "Dismal dragons," sighed Spike. Then he smiled. "I'm taking the Princess's dragons to Fantasy Forest," he said. "I'm sure to find some paper there." "All right, I'll see you later," said Junk It. It was to be much later!
If only Junk It had known that the pencil was magic. Its malicious magic was going to take Spike and the Princess's dragons into danger... Don't miss the second part of this story. Order your copy of My Little Pony now!

WIND WHISTLER AND THE WANDERING WILL O'THE WISPS
Wind Whistler sang this merry little tune as she skipped happily between the blossom-laden trees in the wood. "Here we go gathering nuts in May, nuts in may, nuts in May!" "I've never seen nuts in May, they grow in autumn," scoffed Squeak Squirrel as he nibbled one of his beechmast which he had just found in the hollow oak where he had stored it last winter. "Pony feathers, the song used to say knots in May, meaning sprays of blossom," explained Cotton Candy who had just come from sprinkling the baby rabbits with spring syrup. "Listen, what's that buzzing sound? Surely the bees aren't here already?" "No, it's lots of little fairies...dressed in yellow and brown jerseys, just like the humble bees," cried Wind Whistler. "Who are you?" "Well, we're not bees," snapped an older fairy who was the leader. "We're not fairies either! We're wisps... something quite different! And not ordinary wisps either... we're wandering will o'the wisps!" "And so you've just wandered into Pony Land?" giggled Wind Whistler, panting hard and giving a silly little whistle. "Does everyone make jokes like that?" muttered Willo crossly. "We wandered... because we do wander... we never go straight to a place, that's why it takes us so long to get anywhere... to see if someone in Pony Land could help me!" Wind Whistler blushed. "I'm sorry," she said softly. "What can we do to help you?" "Well, as you can see, there are lots and lots of us wisps," said Willo. "And we live in many different places. But once a year we gather for the GRAND WILLO GATHERING. Sometimes this is the only day that some wisps see each other. The air wisps fly down from the sky, the earth wisps meet the sea wisps who come from the depths of the waves. Oh, it is a lovely meeting... but..." "But what?" asked Wind Whistler, as a large tear ran down the nose of the Chief Wisp. "It has become impossible to let everyone know when the meeting is," sighed Willo. "By the time my wandering messengers have found the place I sent them to, the wisps have moved on somewhere else. I don't think we will be able to hold our meeting in Dream Meadows now. I was so pleased when Majesty said we were welcome to come... only so many of my wisps don't know where to go!" "Heavy hooves, what a pity," agreed Wind Whistler. "What you need is something that everyone will realise is a meeting summons. Wait, I have an idea!" Suddenly a tiny golden whistle appeared above Willo's head. Wind Whistler found a strong blade of grass and fastened the whistle to it before placing the whistle around the Chief Wisp's neck. "Now blow it," she ordered. Willo the Wisp put it to his lips. As he blew a little song came out: "Wisps, wisps, hear my call, It is meant for you all, Come to Dream Meadows sweet, To join in our yearly treat." And through the air they came, wisps large and small, from land, sea and air, all heading towards Dream Meadows. "Hurry, or they'll get there before you," laughed Wind Whistler. "Take my magic whistle as a gift and it will send out a message to your wisps anytime, no matter where you are! Off you go and please, Willo, just once, hurry ... and don't be a wandering wisp!" "We'll fly like the swallows," laughed Willo happily. "Thank you, Wind Whistler for my lovely whistle. I will use it to speak to all my wisps... and I'll send messages to you, too... on my talking, singing whistle!" And he did... but that's another story!
THE WONDERFUL HAT Final part
Will the shepherd waits with Gypsy to see if he can win the hand of the princess with his wonderful hat...
"Step forward, Prince Moneybags and let us see if you have the weight of my daughter in gold," cried the king eagerly. "I have more than enough gold!" cried Prince Moneybags, smiling at the princess.
"Gypsy, we had better go home," cried Will sadly. But Gypsy smiled and tinkled her tambourine gently.
"Something's wrong... I can't open the bags," cried Prince Moneybags. "Don't waste our time... next one!" cried the king.
"I have brought jewels, far more precious than gold," said Prince Silverpenny. "Oh, Gypsy," said Will sadly. But Gypsy just smiled and tinkled her tambourine once again. And...
"What enchantment is this?... my jewels have turned to pebbles!" cried Prince Silverpenny. "I have been cheated!"
"How dare you try to pay my daughter's dowry with pebbles?" said the king. "Bring the next suitor forward!"
But Prince Tightwad shook his head. "I withdraw from the contest," he cried. "I fear my gold will turn to pebbles!"
"Well, shepherd, where is your gold?" asked King Greedygold. "In my hat, sire," replied Will and he turned his hat upside down.
"Hat of plenty, fill for me, coins of gold for all to see," sang Will. Everyone stared in astonishment as the scale began to fill with gold. "Will, I shall soon be your bride," cried the princess.
"King Greedygold, the scales are perfectly balanced. Will the shepherd has paid the dowry!" said Gypsy.
But, as the princess stepped off the scales, the other princess started to mock and jeer.
"A shepherd is not fit to marry a princess!" cried Prince Moneybags! "Just take his gold!" said Tightwad.
"What a good idea!" cried the greedy king. "Guards, seize the shepherd and throw him in the dungeons."
"Gypsy, help me, make the king keep his promise!" begged Will. "Trust me!" cried Gypsy, seizing the hat.
"Hat of plenty, outward pour, soldiers, to protect Will, galore!" Gypsy sang softly.
"Greedy king, you broke your promise, so you and the princes dance. On, and, and on, you all shall prance! You will not rest till break of day, when Will and his bride will be safely away!"
"Stop, Gypsy, I am sorry... Will shall have half my kingdom and my daughter for his bride!" said the king.
"Did I not tell you that you would have the last laugh?" said Gypsy. "Thanks to you... and the hat!" cried Will.
HONEYCOMB AND THE HOBGOBLIN
Honeycomb had been out all day delivering jars of honey, gifts from Majesty, to all their friends.
Sammy Squirrel had a real sweet tooth and he put a little honey on the nuts he had stored away in the autumn.
Dame Nature and Cotton Candy put a jar of honey in the medicine chest to use for sore throats.
The sugar plum fairies were so delighted with their jars of honey that they filled Honeycomb's baskets with big juicy sugar plums. "No one ever gives me honey or sugar plums... and I live in the best clover patch!" cried a cross voice.
It was Dob the hobgoblin. "You don't deserve any honey. You are always playing tricks!" said Honeycomb sternly.
"You turned Buttercup's milk sour," scolded the fairies. "She mooed and frightened me," cried Dob.
"Why do you creep about at night playing tricks?" asked the pony. "I sleep all day, and at night I'm by myself," said Dob.
"What you need is a job to keep you out of mischief. We'll go and see Majesty," cried Honeycomb. "She'll help!"
Majesty was taking tea with her old friend the Man in the Moon. "I'll have to be getting back soon," he said. "Oh, dreams and dust, look, Majesty, now you can see exactly what I mean! The Dark Imps keep hiding my stars! What can I do about it?!"
"You need someone to sweep the sky each night," said Majesty. "How about letting Dob do it? The Sandman's too busy!"
"Oh, yes, please, I'd love to help," begged Dob. "It is just the job for me. I'll start tonight! I'll work hard, I promise."
"You'll need a moon balloon too," Honeycomb said. "Surprise will lend you one. I'll get it now!"
Dob the hobgoblin climbed in and away went the balloon, high in the sky. "Sweep all the dark dust away," called Honeycomb.
As Honeycomb and Majesty watched, the stars began to appear again... Dob even swept the naughty Dark Imps away!
And the next morning the Man in the Moon was so pleased he invited Dob to breakfast... star crispies covered with honey!

Hello, This picture of Pebbles was sent to us by Isabel Rosario, of Feltham, Middlesex. Isabel has seven little ponies, but she still likes making up ponies as you can see from her picture.
Majesty told me that Isabel collects shells, so I hurried down to the beach to find some more for my own collection. Three of my beach friends started to help me, then they ran away to hide. Can you see where they're hiding?

PARASOL'S PRETTY PARASOL
"Parasol, I think this is the prettiest parasol you've ever made," said Confetti. "It needs some flowers on," said Blossom. And just then...
"Ahoy there, little ponies, we're the June Jiggles. We've travelled through water for many days, may we stay here and rest awhile?" "Of course you may. Come ashore and welcome to Pony Land," laughed Parasol. Blossom was gazing at the flowers on the boat.
"We've brought a picnic with us," said Confetti. "Come and sit under the parasol and share it with us."
"I'll bring the hamper," called Parasol. Confetti clicked her hooves and made a paper tablecloth. The Jiggles smiled.
"Where's Blossom?" asked Parasol, as she unpacked the hamper. "I'm here," said Blossom, "I was looking at the flowers."
"You like our flowers?" asked the Jiggles as Blossom joined them. "They're lovely," sighed the little pony. "What are they?"
"They're called June Jiggles, too," said one of the Jiggles. "Would you like some?" "I'll fetch some," said the other Jiggle.
"They'll look pretty on the parasol," smiled Blossom. "We'll put them on it," offered the Jiggles, smiling back.
Later, when the June Jiggles had rowed away, the three little ponies lay sleepily under the parasol. "Look!" said Blossom.
"That's us," said Parasol, "when we had that snow fight, last winter." "I know," chuckled Blossom. "We really enjoyed it."
"I know why these flowers are called June Jiggles," said Confetti. "They jiggle your memory." "That's why the little boat was called Happy Memories," said Blossom. "We'll keep these flowers forever, Parasol's parasol will be the place for happy memories."

TWILIGHT AND THE STAR STEALER
One morning as Majesty looked out of Dream Castle she saw Twilight running towards her in the special mist which the shy little pony used to hide her daylight appearances from prying eyes. "Heavy hooves, Majesty," she cried. "Something terrible has happened. The Star Stealer is up to his nasty tricks again. The Man in the Moon and the Sandman and I have been worried that some of the stars have been disappearing... and when I passed by Stardust Cottage, I spied a new tree in the Star Stealer's garden, and I heard him chuckling among the star leaves!" "Shooting stars, you must make him give them back," exclaimed Spike who had been listening. "If he went on and on...soon there would be no stars in the sky...that would never do!" "I'm afraid I can't make the Star Stealer give back the stars... unless he does it himself," sighed Majesty. Then suddenly she started to chuckle. "But I've thought of a way to do that," she said, "Twilight... go and find Moondancer and as many of the other little ponies you can and meet me at Stardust Cottage!" Twilight went off to find the ponies and Majesty and Spike went to find the Star Stealer while Majesty told Spike about her plan to get the stars back. When they arrived, Spike and the ponies stood under the tree and started to talk. "That Star Stealer is a horrid old goblin," Spike said loudly. "He's the most horrid goblin I know!" "He is certainly the ugliest with his long hooked nose and grey straggly beard," added Moondancer. "I'm sure he has no friends. He has such a bad temper!" cried Twilight. Suddenly there was a movement above their heads, and a very cross face appeared. "How dare you be so rude?" snorted the goblin. "Hasn't he got a horrid voice?" said Cotton Candy with a grin. "It would turn milk sour... or wither flowers!" "You bad, bad pony," called the Star Stealer crossly. And in a real temper he started to throw down the stars from the trees in an attempt to hit the ponies with them! But instead, Majesty, Skyflier, Medley and Flutterbye suddenly appeared each holding the corner of a sky blanket, and as the Star Stealer threw down the stars they caught them in the blanket. The Star Stealer was so cross with the little ponies that he didn't stop until there was not one single star left on the tree. "Thank you so much," laughed Medley as she and Skyflier tied a knot in the blanket. "We'll take these back to the Man in the Moon and help him to hang them behind the curtain ready for the night sky to appear! And don't try and steal any more stars. The star guards will be on patrol every night in future and their comet spears are very sharp!" "You tricked me!" wept the goblin in rage. "No, we just found the right way to make you give back the stars," said Majesty sternly. "But, remember, if you try to be good in the future, and have a kind heart, you will start to have a kinder face too... and a softer voice if you don't shout so much! Why, perhaps you might even get a new name... how about Shiny-Star. That's much prettier!" I wonder if the Star Stealer did try and become a kinder goblin. I'm not sure...but there are lots of stars in the sky now...and perhaps somewhere in Pony Land there is a kind old goblin called Shiny-Star!
THE WONDERFUL WHIZZ
One day Majesty called out to Honeycomb and Bow Tie from the turrets of Dream Castle. "I need you for an errand!"
"Will you take this jar of honey to my old friend the Wonderful Whizz?" she said. "He's very fond of honey."
"Whizz is a wonderful wizard, isn't he?" said Bow Tie to Honeycomb. "Yes, he makes wonderful spells," agreed her pony friend!
But, when they arrived at Whizz's magical cave they found the wonderful wizard looking very upset. "Wands and spells," he was muttering. "Another dissatisfied customer! I really can't understand it! none of my spells seem to go right now!"
"He calls himself a wizard...but look...a coat for me instead of a cote for my hens," grumbled a pixie.
"I can't understand it...I used my best book of spells," declared Whizz. "It always worked before!"
"Just look into yesterday's magic mirror," sighed Whizz. "I changed a prince into a frog...and all he wanted was to be brave! Pixie Pip wanted some gold coins to buy Dame Dimple a gift...I made a bag of barley sugars!"
"The frog looks very brave," said Bow Tie gently, "and Dame Dimple loves barley sugar, so the spells were nearly right!"
"We've brought you some honey. We'll make you a honey sandwich and then you'll feel better," said Honeycomb.
"I'm too busy to eat a sandwich," said Whizz. "I'll just keep dipping my finger in the jar as I try to get the spells right."
"You're getting your spell book all sticky," cried Honeycomb. Then both ponies started to laugh.
"That's why you're getting your spells wrong," said Honeycomb. "Your pages are sticking together...
"...you are using two different spells...look...PEOPLE INTO FROGS...you've turned over two pages at once!"
Bow Tie made bookmarks to help to separate the spells and Whizz set to work again to correct his mistakes!
Suddenly the frog became a brave prince and pixie found himself carrying a hen-cote home! Whizz was wonderful again!
SPIKE AND THE MAGIC PENCIL
On their way to Fantasy Forest, Spike and the Princess ponies' dragons met Junk It who gave Spike a strange pencil.
"I'll find some paper in Fantasy Forest," Spike told Junk It. "We'll see you later." Junk It hurried off to visit the Flower Lady and Spike led the dragons into the forest. "Look!" whispered Smokey, the youngest dragon., "There's paper on that bush."
"I'm looking for a bottle tree," said Prickles. "I want to take some orange water home for Princess Aquamarine."
"The bottle would turn into a leaf as soon as we left for the forest," explained Spike. "And the orange water would disappear."
"Will this hat turn into a leaf when we leave the forest?" asked Spiny. "Yes," laughed Spike. "I'll leave it on then," said Spiny. "But can't we take anything home to show the Princess ponies?" "I don't think so," replied Spike. "But I've got an idea!"
"If we draw the Princess ponies, they might be able to see us," said Spike. "Strange things happen in Fantasy Forest."
"Draw Princess Sapphire first," begged Smokey. "I'm missing her, you see." "All right," agreed Spike, and...
"Look at that," gasped Sparks. "It's a lead pencil but the picture is colouring itself." Smokey smiled happily.
"Let me have a go, Spike," said Fiery. "I'll draw Princess Pearl. We'll draw all the Princesses and Majesty, too."
Before long, the seven pictures were finished. Spike hung them on the bush. "I think Princess Sapphire wants to whisper something to me," said Smokey, and he put his ear next to her picture. "She wants me to draw a fortress," he said.
"Do you know what a fortress looks like?" asked Prickles. "Princess Aquamarine told me a story about one."
"You tell me what to draw then," said Smokey, as he picked the pencil up. The pencil gave a silent chuckle!
Smokey listened carefully to Prickles and soon the picture was finished. Then Spike heard Majesty speaking to him.
"Majesty wants me to draw some dungeons with an ogre inside," grunted Spike, and he took the pencil from Smokey.
"I can't think why Majesty told me to do this," puzzled Spike, as he finished the dungeons. Suddenly, Smokey moaned...
"The ogre's alive!" gasped Smokey. "There are walls around us," bellowed Fiery. "We are inside the dungeons!" said Flash.
"Seven pet dragons, how nice," said the ogre in a deep, deep voice. "I like this one best," and he bent down and picked Smokey up. "Which one of you found my magic pencil?" he said. "My pencil that makes things talk and grow and live."
"Here's your pencil," said Spike. "I didn't find it, Junk It did." "Oh no, a part of it is missing," said the ogre.
"The rubber's gone, we can't rub the picture out. We'll be prisoners here forever!" sobbed the ogre.
The fortress is invisible to anyone on the outside. Will the seven dragons and the ogre ever find a way out? Don't forget to order your next issue of My Little Pony!
BLOSSOM'S CORNER
Hello, Would you like to make some June Jiggle flowers? If you use the special Pony Land clay to make them, they will last forever. Mix together 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of salt, 1/3 cup of water. Use a wooden spoon and mix it well. Then, press the lump of clay between your fingers to get out any lumps. If the clay feels dry, add a few drops of water. If it feels mushy, add a bit of flour.
Make your June Jiggle flowers, any flower shape you like, then leave them to dry for two or three days. When they are dry you can paint them and varnish them.
Listen, Ask Mum or Dad for half an empty coconut shell with the hairy bits cut off. You can turn it into a little boat. Use some twigs stuck onto empty cotton reels to make the little bench seats. You could glue some June Jiggle flowers around the edge of the boat. You could even use the Pony Land clay to make us. Use painted acorns for our heads, make our bodies from clay and push the acorns into our neck bit. Use twigs for our arms and flat pebbles for our feet. When our bodies are dry, dress us in leaves.

SPIKE AND THE MAGIC PENCIL
When Spike and the little dragons drew pictures of Majesty and the Princess ponies, in Fantasy Forest, a strange thing happened!
The picture of Princess Sapphire told Smokey to draw a fortress. Then Majesty's picture told spike to draw dungeons and an ogre! The pencil was magic and soon the dragons were inside the dungeons. The pencil was the ogre's, he sobbed as he looked at it!
"The rubber's gone, we can't rub the picture out. Sit down and I'll tell you about this magic pencil!" he said.
"Ogre, were you once a royal gardener?" asked Prickles. "Did you find the pencil in a bed of snapdragons?"
"However do you know that?" replied the ogre. "It's quite true. But when I found the pencil it made only good magic." "Then one day, you refused to sell it to a wicked witch," said Prickles. "She put a malicious spell on the pencil, and..."
"And the pencil made horrible things happen," sighed the ogre. "I drew pictures that spoke to me."
"The pictures told you to draw terrible things that became real," said Prickles. "Princess Aquamarine told me your story."
"I could always rub the pictures out and the terrible things would disappear," said the ogre. "Then one day, you drew an ogre in some dungeons... you lost the magic pencil, so you became what you had drawn," said Prickles. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry."
"You couldn't help forgetting the story," Fiery comforted Prickles. "Princess Aquamarine tells you so many of them."
"This picture isn't finished," Sparks said. "Look," he took the pencil from the ogre and started to draw something.
"That ladder's no use, it's on the outside wall. We're trapped in the dungeons," said Fiery. Sparks drew a trap door in the roof.
"There is a trap door in the roof," Smokey squeaked. "Push us through it, ogre, up to the next floor!"
"Come on dragons," said Sparks. "Let's find the ladder." "You've made it too short," sighed Spike, looking down. But Fiery told them to pull the ladder up. Then, they tied Spiny onto it by his hat. "Take the magic pencil," said Sparks, "and find Majesty."
As soon as Spiny touched the ground, the fortress and the ladder vanished. He was all alone in Fantasy Forest...
"Princess Amethyst is always helping someone," gulped poor Spiny. "I wish she would help me now!"
Can Princess Amethyst, or anyone, help Spiny? Read the final part of this story in your next issue of My Little Pony!
THE WITCH'S GOLDEN APPLE
Wanda the witch who lived in the Weird Wood was always trying to think up new ways of upsetting the little ponies because she had never yet succeeded in capturing any of them. One day as the little ponies were enjoying one of Majesty's delicious lunches, Wanda appeared on her broomstick. "What do you want, Wanda?" called Medley and Firefly as she flew past them. "We hope that you haven't come to cause trouble!" "Trouble...me?" cried Wanda with a sly laugh. "Never... I've brought a present... a golden apple... for the best little pony of all!" And down into the sweet meadow grass she threw a glittering apple, as golden as the sun. Then away she flew. "What a lovely apple... it's just like a jewel," said Sparkler. "I'd love to have it for my collection... if no one minds!" "Happy hooves, of course you can have it," laughed Heart Throb. "Can't she?" she said to the others. "Straw and hay, I don't know about that," said Medley. "Wanda said it was for the best little pony!" "Yes, but who is the best little pony?" asked Applejack eyeing the golden apple eagerly. "I'm the best... at eating apples!" "But I can turn the best treble treble double loops," cried Firefly. "And only Medley can play music with her tail... she's the best tail-waver!" "That doesn't make her the best pony... I make the best gingerbread," said a familiar voice. "But Honeycomb is the best finder of honey!" "I'm the best nurse... even if I do eat flowers," cried Cotton Candy. "But I'm the best dancer," declared Gypsy. "And Lemon Drop can jump her fences better than any little pony I know!" One by one all the little ponies laid their claim to the wonderful golden apple and suddenly they were all arguing amongst themselves. "Stop it, stop it," begged Majesty. "Can't you all see what's happening? Wanda threw down the apple on purpose so that you would all start to quarrel. She would like nothing better to see you all enemies and not friends!" "Fences and jumps, Majesty, you're quite right," said Lemon Drop, looking rather ashamed of herself. "I don't want the apple. I'd rather have my pony friends!" All the other little ponies stopped shouting at each other and nodded their heads in agreement. "You have the apple, Majesty," said Medley. "You are the best little pony." "I will take the apple," Majesty agreed. "But we will all share it!" She threw the apple in the air crying: "Apple of gold which looks so sweet, Multiply and turn good to eat. Turn into an apple tree, With juicy apples, for all to see!" And, as the apple fell to earth, it turned into an ordinary apple tree... but filled with lovely juicy yellow apples... enough for every little pony in Pony Land! When Wanda flew back to see if her plan had worked she saw all the little ponies munching away happily... each with a golden apple! She was so cross she fell off her broomstick into the Waterfall and got a soaking! How all the little ponies laughed!
A FRIGHT FOR FIREFLY
Cherries Jubilee and Majesty were watching Firefly practising her treble treble double loop!
"Pony feathers, now she has challenged the North wind to a race," said Cherries Jubilee. "No one has ever done that before! They are flying over the Magic Mountains... Oh, Firefly is brave!" "Or foolish," said Majesty softly to herself.
"I'm winning, I'm winning!" cried Firefy, looking back at the North Wind. "You can't catch me!"
"You silly little pony, no one can outrace me," howled the North Wind. Before Firefly could stop, the North Wind blew.
"Pony feathers, you're blowing me away," cried Firefly. "Please stop, I don't want to race anymore. I want to go home!" "Find your own way home," cried the North Wind. "I've got some work to do," and away he went.
"I must get down from this tree. Pony feathers, I've hurt my wing. I'll have to jump!" said Firefly.
Closing her eyes Firefly jumped down... and landed in the middle of a shining pool. "My wing's mended!" she cried.
"My long race has made me hungry," said Firefly. "Happy hooves, a cake... it looks delicious. I'll eat it! Oh, I feel funny!"
"Oh foolish Firefly, now your troubles will really begin," sighed Majesty. "You've eaten a magic Contrary Cake!"
"Majesty, we must help Firefly to get back home," said Tootsie. "I will send you to Contrary Town, but it will be difficult!"
So Majesty twirled her magic horn. "To Contrary Town both shall go, but Firefly may be your foe!"
In a trice Tootsie and Cherries Jubilee found themselves in Contrary Town. "How can Firefly be our foe?" asked Tootsie.
"Now is your chance to find out," said Cherries Jubilee. "There she is... Firefly, it's us, your friends!"
"Wirefly, we are tlad to see you," cried Tootsie. "Here, have a lollipop!" "I don't like lollipops... or you!" she said.
"But it's us, Cherries Jubilee and Tootsie," the ponies said. "I've never seen you before," cried Firefly crossly.
Tootsie began to cry. "What's happened to Firefly?" she sobbed. "Look, she asked for an apple and the shopkeeper has given her a pear! Why doesn't she like us anymore? The North Wind must have put a spell on her. Heavy hooves, what can we do?"
"I could use my magic clover to wish us home," said Tootsie. "But we need to break the contrary spell."
"You clever little Tootsie," cried Cherries Jubilee in delight. "You've found the answer!" "Have I?" said Tootsie, puzzled.
"Firefly, shall we stay here forever?" asked Cherries Jubilee. "I don't want to stay! I want to go home," replied Firefly.
"So you shall, you contrary pony!" said Cherries Jubilee. "The spell is broken, but don't ever race the North Wind again!"
TICKLE AND THE SAND GOBLINS
It was a lovely sunny day. Some of the little ponies decided to go down to the beach for a picnic.
Seashell and Sparkler were making a model of Dream Castle. "It might be fun to have a sea view for a change," laughed Majesty. "But you might get very wet when the tide comes in," replied Sparkler.
Suddenly up ran three bad sand goblins who lived in the sand dunes. "Let's knock down the castle!" they laughed.
"Stop that at once!" said Majesty crossly. "Shan't!" replied the goblins. "This is our beach... go away!"
"Oh, look at all this lovely food," Snip the sand goblin said. "Come on, Snap, have a nut cake!"
"Heavy hooves, now Slap is throwing pebbles at the baby ponies," cried Majesty. "It's too bad. Go away!"
"Those horrid goblins are spoiling our picnic," said Bubbles. "Majesty, what can we do?" "We'll challenge them to a tug of seaweed and the winners will have the beach to themselves," suggested Majesty. "We'll win easily," jeered the goblins.
"Are you ready?" called Majesty. "The first to drop the rope must leave the beach. One... two... three... pull!"
"The little ponies are winning... do something!" cried Snip to Snap. "We'll grow and grow," grinned Snap.
"They've made themselves huge... they'll win by cheating," groaned Bubbles. "Heavy hooves, it isn't fair, Tickle!"
"No, they won't... we can play tricks, too," cried Tickle. She flew over to the sand goblins with a feather!
"Stop tickling... oh... Snip... I can't hold on much longer," giggled Snap. "Nor me," groaned Slap.
The bad goblins were laughing so much that when the ponies gave a big tug, the goblins let go and fell over.
"We've won... we've won! Now go away and let us enjoy our picnic," cried the little ponies! "At once!" ordered Majesty.
For a moment the goblins hesitated, but as Tickle held up her feather, they ran off to the dunes. "Time for tea!" said Tickle.
My Little Pony Club Page
Hello, A lot of club members write to tell us about their hobbies and collections. Well, I'm starting a new hobby, using some of my shell collection. I'm going to make ships in bottles. Apart from the shells, you need some small clean jars with lids. Baby food jars are a nice size. You also need some stuff paper, some paste, crayons, cocktail sticks, scissors and some blue, green and brown plasticine. Design a small figure-head and draw a small tab on it. Cut out two figure-heads the same. Colour them and stick them together, but DON'T stick the tabs together. Design a small sail, colour it and cut it out. Put some brown plasticine inside a shell. Push a cocktail stick into the plasticine. Use the tabs on your figure-head to stick it onto one end of your shell ship. Press some blue or green plasticine into the lid of the jar, leave some room all round the edge of the lid so you can screw the jar onto it. Don't make the plasticine smooth, it should look like waves. Press your shell ship into the plasticine. Put the jar over the ship and screw the jar into the lid.
OUR NEXT ISSUE IS ON SALE FROM JULY 2nd Medley and Bubbles meet the piping pixie! Surprise and Baby Cotton Candy have fun with the balloon man! Also watch out for the next issue of My Little Pony and Friends. It's full of exciting adventures featuring The Moondreamers, The Glo Friends and, of course, all your Pony friends!

SURPRISE AND THE BALLOON MAN
One day Surprise was delighted to see her old friend the Balloon Man...
"Welcome back to Pony Land," said Surprise. "I am glad to see you." The babies looked on in surprise.
"I have been travelling all over, but now I thought it was time I visited my pony friends," said the Balloon Man.
"May I have a balloon, too" asked Baby Cotton Candy politely. "Of course," smiled the Balloon Man. "I know you are fond of flowers." He took some balloons and twisted them deftly... and handed Baby Cotton Candy... a large balloon flower!
"I'm afraid I can't make an apple... will you take this balloon dog?" said the Balloon Man to Baby Applejack.
"Happy hooves, you are clever!" cried the babies. "Please make something else for us!" So he did!
Just then the naughty thistle pixies ran out. "We'll burst your balloons!" they cried gleefully.
"Heavy hooves, he's burst one of my flower petals," cried Baby Cotton. "You've withered my balloon flower!"
Just then Majesty and Parasol came along and saw what was happening. "Quickly... Balloon Man... and you too, Surprise... make lots of balloons with long strings. These thistle pixies need to be taught a lesson!"
Majesty twirled her horn and sang: "High in the sky you go and take the pixies here below!"
Suddenly the balloons floated over the pixies. The strings curled tightly around them... and off they went!
"Let us down... let us down!" wailed the pixies. "No, I remember how you tried to steal Lemon Drop's cups!" Majesty said.
"Please forgive us," they cried. "We will be good!" "All right," Surprise said. "Look, the balloons have popped!"
"Oh, we can't fly, someone save us!" called the pixies. "You don't deserve it," said Parasol but...
The pixies managed to catch the parasol parachutes and floated down...onto three very prickly thistles!
"Oh, look at our clothes! They're all torn. Now we won't be able to go to our party tonight!" cried the pixies.
But the little ponies had a lovely party. The Balloon Man made lots of toys...and showered lots of balloons down!

Tutti Frutti's birthday parties are always lots of fun.
She always has five of her friends round, and sends the invitations well in advance. Then, when the big day arrives they can't wait to get started. Their favourite party game, of course, is pinning the tail on the pony. (Not as easy as it when they're blindfolded.) After that, it's time to give Tutti Frutti her present and get down to the party tea. There's six of everything. Six party hats, six party horns, six cups, six plates, six slices of birthday cake, and six candles. Funny how it always seems to be Tutti Frutti's sixth birthday. The My Little Pony Birthday Party set comes complete with everything shown for £11.99 or less.
SPIKE AND THE MAGIC PENCIL Final Part
Spike, an ogre and five of the Princess ponies' dragons were prisoners in a fortress with dungeons. However...
The dragons had managed to get Spiny out of the fortress, but the fortress was invisible from the outside and it was dark in Fantasy Forest. Spiny clung onto the magic pencil, that had caused all the trouble, and wished that Princess Amethyst would help.
"Spiny! Over here! Princess Amethyst knew you needed help, so I came to find you." "Princess Pearl!" cried Spiny.
"The others are in a fortress we can't see until we draw its picture," babbled Spiny. "But this pencil has bad magic."
"Draw the fortress, then we'll rescue them," said Princess Pearl. "No, without a rubber to rub the picture out, we'll be imprisoned with the ogre, who is really a royal gardener." said Spiny mournfully. Princess Pearl started to cry. Spiny managed to catch a teardrop.
The teardrop turned into a pearl. "Now I can make a wish," laughed Spiny, and he wished for a rubber.
"Those flowers are from my rubber plant," shouted the Flower Lady. "Draw a fortress, Spiny," said Princess Pearl.
Spiny drew the picture and before long everybody was in the dungeons. "Oh, no," groaned the ogre. "We're all prisoners!" But Spiny rubbed the picture out. "We're free, and you're a gardener again," said Princess Aquamarine. "A legend came true."
COTTON CANDY'S BUSY DAY
One morning Cotton Candy awoke bright and early. She sniffed the air and smiled. "I really do believe that summer is almost here at last," she said. "It's given me quite an appetite. I'll go down to the meadows and find a little sweet grass and perhaps a flower or two for breakfast." And off she set, taking with her her little nurse's bag, because Cotton Candy was always prepared in case any of her friends needed help. As she was passing by the Silver Stream she saw her friend Croaker the frog jumping up and down on a waterlily pad. "Hello, Croaker," called Cotton Candy. "Isn't it a lovely day?" Croaker pointed a flipper to his throat. "I've got a sore throat," he croaked very softly. "I was the soloist in the concert last night to welcome the baby swallows. I got so many encores that my voice is really sore now." "Take a sip of my honey cordial," suggested Cotton Candy. "That will soon make it better!" and it did! Cotton Candy could still hear croaker singing away as she neared the hollow oak where the rabbit family lived. Suddenly Mother Rabbit popped her head out of a hole. "My young Rab has hurt his paw, Cotton Candy!" she cried. "Will you look at it?" "Of course," replied the little pony. "Yes, it does look sore. I'll put some of my special herb salve ointment on it to take the pain away!" "Carrots and cabbages, that's much better. Thank you, Cotton Candy," said Rab as he bounded away happily to play with his friends. Cotton Candy went on her way, stopping now and then to nibble a little sweet new grass or just one or two flower petals. But as she galloped through the orchard she saw Applejack looking very unhappy. "Have you been eating unripe apples again?" she scolded. Applejack nodded sadly. "My tummy hurts," she groaned. "Here, take this special tummyache medicine," said Cotton Candy, fishing in her bag and bringing out a piece of sugar with her best herbal linctus on it. "And don't have anything to eat for the rest of the day." "Heavy hooves, I won't eat another apple!" cried Applejack, as she sucked away at the sugar lump. But Cotton Candy just laughed. She's heard Applejack say all that before! As Cotton Candy passed by the Show Stable she saw Lemon Drop teaching Baby Lickety-Split and and Baby Lofty to jump over a gate shaped like a big bowl of summer flowers. "Over you go...look ahead... no...heavy hooves...don't look down!" called Lemon Drop in despair. But that's exactly what the baby ponies did! They gave shrieks of fright and landed over the flower jump...right in the middle of a big patch of nettles. "Heavy hooves, I've been stung by a big bee!" cried Baby Lickety-Split. "No, it's these horrid plants...they sting you!" sobbed poor Baby Lofty. "You wouldn't have landed in the stinging nettles if you had followed my orders," sighed Lemon Drop crossly, because she was rather upset at what had happened to the baby ponies. "Here, rub yourselves with these leaves," said Cotton Candy, plucking several dock leaves which were growing nearby. "They will soon take the pain away!" "We must remember that!" cried Lemon Drop and the baby ponies. "Pony feathers, here comes Magic Star." "Majesty sent me to tell you all that it is time for lunch," said Magic Star. "Come along, everyone is waiting for you. What's wrong, Cotton Candy?" "I think that I'll have to miss lunch today... my medicine bag is empty. I will have to start to refill it again," explained Cotton Candy. "After all, I am the Pony Land nurse," she added proudly. "And a very good one," said Magic Star. "But you need not miss your lunch. You must be very hungry after such a busy morning." And Magic Star twirled around and the star wand on her rump shimmered and glimmered as the little pony made a secret wish. "Sugar and salve, my bag's full again," cried Cotton Candy in delight. "Thank you, Magic Star!" "It's us who should thank you... you're a really wonderful nurse," said Magic Star, and the others all nodded their heads. Cotton Candy is a kind and clever little pony nurse, isn't she?
COTTON CANDY'S CORNER
Hello, I've been very busy. I've been helping Gusty to be a nurse. You see, something very exciting happened in the Lullaby Nursery on June 13th. Baby Lucky used his magic words to make some pictures come alive! There were two pictures of tiny twin ponies.
Of course, Dibbles and Nibbles and Snookums and Sniffles need a lot of looking after and Gusty was the little pony we chose for that special job. If you have any good ideas for some special toys we could make for the newborn twins, do write to Nurse Gusty and tell her about them!
OUR NEXT ISSUE IS ON SALE FROM JULY 16th Baby Blossom loses her voice! The ponies wait for the sunbeam sprites! Baby Lucky travels to the Isles of Mists to rescue a friend! All this and lots more! Don't miss it! Watch out for My Little Pony and Friends!
MEDLEY AND THE PIPING PIXIE
The little ponies were enjoying themselves splashing about in the Waterfall. Bubbles laughed happily.
"Pony feathers, you've made the water all muddy, Bubbles," scolded Trickles. "I need clean water for Posey's flowers!"
"Listen... I can hear music! Someone's coming!" cried Sprinkles. "It's a pixie playing a pipe!"
Back in Dream Castle Majesty was watching in her magic mirror. "It's the Piping Pixie!" she said to Spike.
"Why is he here?" asked Spike. "To entice my ponies to Grim Castle" Majesty replied. "I must warn them."
Majesty ran outside. Spike followed her. "What are you going to do, Majesty?" he asked anxiously.
Majesty sang. "Little ponies, all beware... ponies, do take care! Heed not the merry notes, see how the pixie gloats."
But the summer breeze carried her words away! However, Medley and Firefly saw what was happening.
"Fly down and stuff your ears with that sheep's wool on the hedge," said Medley. "We mustn't hear the music!"
Medley's warning came too late! Her ears full of wool, she watched as poor Firefly joined the rest of the dancing ponies as they climbed the steep hill towards Grim Castle. "I must think of something quickly," she cried, "or it will be too late!"
Suddenly Medley noticed a really big cloud floating towards her. It was a pretty blue... a daydream cloud!
"Princess Aquamarine has been day dreaming," she cried with joy. "A big cloud is just what I need now!"
The pixie piper looked very pleased. He had brought four new servants for his master who would give him a large piece of gold. But suddenly, there came a terrible noise like thunder! It drowned the sound of the pixie pipe.
Medley drummed harder and harder as the ponies ran faster and faster back to Pony Land.
"The pixie piper won't trouble us again," laughed Medley. "Look, the giant is keeping him far too busy!"

BABY BLOSSOM LOSES HER VOICE
"Just listen to the babies playing on the slopes of the Magic Mountain," laughed Bow Tie. "You can hear them from here!"
"You can hear Baby Blossom's voice everywhere!" sighed Majesty. "She really makes my head ache!"
"I'll go and tell them to make less noise," said Spike. "It's just an excuse to find out what's happening really," he added.
On Magic Mountain the babies had found a lovely surprise. The slopes were filled that day with real sweet flowers! There were Daisy Jubjubes, Butterscotch Buttercups and Peppermint Poppies! "Taste the Cornflower Chocolates," cried Baby Blossom.
"I love these Moonflower Marshmallows," said Baby Moondancer. "Let's take some back for a midnight feast!"
So they filled the stroller with lots of sweets and set off back to the Lullaby Nursery.
On the way they decided to paddle in the pool with Sprinkles and Duck Soup. "This is fun," they cried. "Don't stay in too long. The wind is very strong today," warned Sprinkles. "Dry your tails and manes very well. Don't catch cold!"
"We will come out now," said the babies. "I don't mind getting wet," giggled Baby Blossom.
Baby Blossom was still very wet as they passed by the Show Stable where Lemon Drop was practising.
"Don't start shouting as I jump... especially Baby Blossom... you've got a very loud voice," called Lemon Drop.
Baby Blossom opened her mouth... but no sound came out. "You've got no voice at all," cried the other baby ponies.
"So you've lost your voice?" chuckled Lemon Drop. "Perhaps you left it on the Magic Mountain or in the pool."
"No, she had her voice then. She must have lost it around the Show Stable," the babies cried. "We'll look for it!"
"You silly little baby," cried Majesty. "Your voice has gone because you shout and run about with a damp tail!"
"You must coax your voice back with something nice," said Majesty. She walked over to the stroller.
"Here, suck some honey and lemon flower lumps," said Majesty. Baby Blossom sucked three lumps and wished hard...
Soon Baby Blossom was talking again but much more quietly! In fact, she was the quietest of all at the midnight feast!

THERE'S MAGIC IN THE MISTY MOUNTAIN
"Forget-Me-Not, why is that hill always covered in a swirly mist?" asked Baby Lucky. "I've been here for three days now, and every day it has been bright and sunny. But the mist is always there." "It isn't a hill, Baby Lucky, it's a mountain," replied Forget-Me-Not. "We call it Misty Mountain." "But why is the mist always there?" repeated Baby Lucky. "Don't you know?" "Not really," admitted Forget-Me-Not, "though I do know a story about the Misty Mountain." "Happy hooves, are you going to tell me the story?" shouted Baby Lucky excitedly, "I do like your stories, Forget-Me-Not." "Tonight's your last night in Flutter Valley," laughed Forget-Me-Not. "I'll tell you the story at bedtime as a special treat."
The moon was shining brightly and the mist over the mountain was dancing with the moonbeams when Forget-Me-Not started her story. "A long time ago, there was a wise old magician who lived up in the Misty Mountain. When we needed help we would go to the mountain to ask the magician for advice. But one day, when Lily went to find the magician, he had disappeared! Some rocks had fallen from the top of the mountain and it was covered in mist." Baby Lucky's eyes were huge as he listened to the story. Forget-Me-Not nuzzled the baby boy pony before she continued. "Some people say that the mist is the magician's breath as he calls for help, and noises have been heard from deep inside the mountain. Nobody really knows the truth... but whatever it is... there's magic in the Misty Mountain," whispered Forget-Me-Not. "That's the best story I've ever heard," sighed Baby Lucky. "I'm going to tell it to myself before I go to sleep." But he was so tired that he didn't get past the first words before he fell asleep. Forget-Me-Not smiled down at him and crept away to her own bed. Baby Lucky did not sleep for very long and when he woke up the first thing that he saw was the mist swirling in the bright moonlight. "I know it was only a story," he whispered to himself, "but I must go and see if I can hear the magician."
Although the path was steep and rocky, it didn't take Baby Lucky long to reach the foot of the mountain. The mist swirled around him and seemed to touch him gently. Deep in the mountain he could hear a banging noise and just for a moment her thought he saw a light. "It's just the moon shining on the side of the mountain," he told himself. And when he looked again the light had gone. Then an icy wind blew around him. "Poor Baby Lucky, poor little boy, I'm frightened," he whispered, but then the wind stopped. "Forget-Me-Not was right. There is magic in the Misty Mountain," he said. "Happy-Go-Lucky, I wish it could go inside the mountain." Mist floated out through the crack and it grew bigger and bigger. Then there was a bright flash. "It's Lightning," whimpered Baby Lucky. "How do you know my name?" asked a voice. Baby Lucky closed his eyes tightly, wishing that he was safe and sound in his own bed. But when he opened his eyes he could see a shape in front of him through the swirling mist. And as he looked closer he could see that the shape was...
Who spoke to Baby Lucky? What was the shape he could see through the swirling mist? Find out in your next issue of My Little Pony!
THE SUMMER SUNBEAM SPRITES
"Heavy hooves, it's raining again!" cried Baby Tiddly Winks. "Will it ever stop?" "We can't go out again," said the babies.
At the Show Stable Lemon Drop was feeling just as cross. "We'll never be able to hold the Summer Show!" she snorted. "Just look at the course... it's all waterlogged!" "My flowers have all been battered down with the rain," sighed Posey.
"Why doesn't the sun shine?" asked Spike. "It is summer!" "Because the Sunbeam Sprites haven't arrived," Majesty said.
"They should have arrived by now," Majesty continued. "Unless they do, Summer can never begin!"
"Something must have happened," said Majesty. "North Star, please go and find them. They should have left Spring!"
"Start first near Spring Bower. We will watch you through our magic mirror... but take care!"
Away went North Star while Majesty and the others returned to Dream Castle. "Gather round," said Majesty.
"There's North Star now," cried Spike. "Fire and Flames, she's reached the... oh, who's that, Majesty?"
"It's Pitch-Black, the Murky Water Witch," said Majesty. "She lives on the banks of the Black Murky Pool. She hates sunshine... she captures it and hides it away in the depths of the pool!" Everyone gasped in horror...
Meanwhile, North Star had seen something bright at the bottom of the dark pool. She flew down to take a look! "Heavy hooves the sprites must be trapped!" said North Star to herself.
As she looked, North Star heard Majesty's voice. "Free the sprites before the witch returns from the River of Blackness!"
"How can I do that?" asked North Star in dismay. "Seek the hep of Quaffa the Very Thirsty Frog," called a blackbird.
North Star looked around. There were lots of frogs! Which one was Quaffa? They all looked alike!
Then suddenly she saw a tiny pink frog with orange spots. "I'm Quaffa," said the frog. "How can I help?"
"I need to empty the black pool to free the sprites," said North Star. "Oh, is that all?" laughed the frog.
North Star watched in amazement as the pool emptied and Quaffa grew fatter and fatter. "Don't burst," she begged!
"Hurry, the witch is returning," cried Quaffa, who was beginning to grow smaller already. "Set course for Pony Land, North Star... the quickest way you can. Sprites... be ready to follow her, I'll deal with Pitch-Black!"
"Hurray, Quaffa has tripped up the witch and she has fallen into her own pool," laughed North Star. "Serves her right!"
So Summer came at last... thanks to North Star, Quaffa, and of course the Summer Sunbeam sprites!

THE MYSTERIOUS CASTLE OF SHELLS (Part 1)
One morning as Gypsy was talking to the baby sea ponies, Baby Lucky came rushing up carrying a golden comb.
"I've just found Miranda's comb," called Baby Lucky. "Do you know where she is?" "We haven't seen her all day," cried Tiny Bubbles. "She must be getting ready for the Sea Ball tonight... she'll need her comb to tidy her hair!"
"Perhaps she's in the treasure wreck looking for jewels to wear," said Tiny Bubbles. "We'll see," said Gypsy.
"Look, there's Miranda... in a strange castle of shells!" cried Gypsy. "She's crying... something's wrong!"
"Heavy hooves, that means she has been captured by the Shell Sorcerer!" sighed Majesty. "He lives on the Isles of Mists!"
"We must rescue her," said the baby sea ponies. "I want to come too," cried Baby Lucky. "How do we get there?"
"I will sprinkle you with sea foam so that you can travel in the sea," explained Majesty. "You must follow Flip the dolphin who will lead you through the mists to the Castle of Shells... but take care, the Shell Sorcerer will be waiting!"
"How misty it is," cried Tiny Bubbles. "Happy-go-Lucky, I wish the mist would clear," agreed Baby Lucky.
"Ships and shore, you are clever, Baby Lucky, you've made the mist disappear," said Tiny Bubbles. Baby Lucky grinned.
"What a pretty castle... we can easily float in through the open doorway", decided Sea Shimmer. "Look, I can see Miranda in the window over there," called Splasher. "We'll soon get her out of here. Come on, Baby Lucky!"
"No, no, wait, remember what Majesty said," warned Baby Lucky. "It's too dangerous... remember the sorcerer!"
"There's no sorcerer here," laughed Sea Shimmer. "Just a lovely castle...oh, what's happening?"
"I'm just closing the door... there's a draught," jeered a mocking voice. "Welcome to my castle, baby sea ponies!" It was the Shell Sorcerer! The baby sea ponies trembled with terror. What would become of them now?
Will Baby Lucky manage to rescue his friends? Find out in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY.

THE TERRIBLE MISTAKE
The new born twins had fallen asleep on their play mat. "Let's go and make them strawberries and ice-cream for when they wake up," whispered Baby Lickety-Split.
"Where are the funny four?" asked Baby Lofty, using Nurse Gusty's pet name for the twins. "They're all asleep," said Baby Lickety-Split. "We've come to make strawberries and ice-cream for their tea." "Let's have a picnic tea," suggested Baby Lofty.
"I'll make some jelly shapes," said Bluey, the balloon bird. "I used to watch the Jelly Jester making them."
"I'll take the chairs out," said Baby Cotton Candy. "All this food is making me hungry," she added.
Baby Cotton Candy was arranging the chairs when she saw Sniffles coming towards her. "All gone," laughed the tiny unicorn.
"What's all gone, Sniffles? Show me," said Baby Cotton Candy. Sniffles walked the other way and the baby pony followed him.
"All gone," said Sniffles again, when they reached the play mat. "Gone where?" asked Baby Cotton Candy looking around. "Where are Snookums, Dibbles and Nibbles?" "Whoosh!" laughed Sniffles, then he touched something on the play mat. "Chocolate," he said.
Suddenly, the chocolate mouse rose into the air, taking Sniffles with it. "Whoosh!" called the tiny unicorn.
Baby Cotton Candy galloped as fast as she could to the nursery. "All the twins have disappeared. Somebody fetch Majesty!"
"I'll go," chirped Bluey. "I can fly fast now." "A chocolate mouse took Sniffles away," sobbed Baby Cotton.
"I think chocolate mice took the other three, too," sniffed the baby pony. "Sniffles said all gone and whoosh!"
"There's a message here!" shouted Baby Lickety-Split. "It must be from Wizard Wantall," gasped Baby Lofty in dismay.
"Here's Majesty," said Baby Cotton Candy. "Majesty, look, Wizard Wantall has taken the twins away."
To the baby ponies' surprise, Majesty laughed as she read the message! "Close your eyes tightly," she ordered.
Majesty's magic took them to Magician Muddle's cavern. Muddle was staring in horror at the four tiny twins.
"You got your spell muddled again, old friend," smiled Majesty. "As soon as I saw your message with a bright green wand on..." "Bright green means bring," sighed Muddle. "I remember now." "Never mind," soothed Majesty, "everyone's enjoying themselves."

THERE'S MAGIC IN THE MISTY MOUNTAIN
The Story So Far... Baby Lucky was staying in Flutter Valley with the Flutter ponies. On his last night there, Forget-Me-Not had told him a story about the Misty Mountain. She had told of noises coming from deep within the mountain and said there was magic there! While all the Flutter ponies were sleeping, Baby Lucky went to the mountain. A light flashing from a crack in the mountain frightened the baby boy pony. "It's lightning," he whimpered. "How do you know my name?" asked a voice. Through the swirling mist, Baby Lucky could see a shape...
The Story Continues... As Baby Lucky looked closer he could see that the shape was a big pony. "Are you real?" asked Baby Lucky. "Of course he's real," said another voice. "You called him by his name, Lightning. And I'm..." The icy wind blew again and another pony appeared. "I'm Tornado," he said. "I must be dreaming," said Baby Lucky. "I must..." There was a happy laugh and another pony appeared through the mist. "This is Sunburst, he's always bright and cheerful. He kept us all smiling until we rescued our friend, the wise magician," explained Tornado. "Even when I felt grumpy, Sunburst cheered me up," a deep voice said. "He's called Thundercloud," said Tornado. "The wise magician is his best friend, so of course Thundercloud was grumpy until we found him." "The wise magician shares all his knowledge with Thundercloud so he is very wise, too," smiled Sunburst. Suddenly a white light shone through the mist. "Here's Ice Crystal," Sunburst told Baby Lucky. "He..." "He makes slides for us to skate on and freezes water for us to play kickstones on," interrupted Tornado, who couldn't stay quiet for long. Baby Lucky stared and stared. "I can see five ponies, I must be dreaming," he said, "but what a lovely dream." "Five? Can you only see five of us?" asked Lightning. He stepped towards the crack in the mountain, clicked his front hooves together and shook his head. A bright flash lit up the inside of the mountain and Baby Lucky saw another pony hurrying towards him. "That's Fireball," explained Ice Crystal. "He's got enough energy for two ponies, he's always dashing about wanting things to happen in a hurry." "He was very useful when we had to move the rockfall to free the wise magician," stated Tornado. "The magician didn't have time to be worried, Fireball worked so quickly." "I had to turn the dust from the rocks into icy mist," laughed Ice Crystal. "The magician did worry about one thing - he didn't want his magic hat to get dusty!" "What's your name, baby boy?" asked Sunburst. "I'm Baby Lucky... I..." "Well, we're lucky, too," said Tornado. "It's nice to meet new friends." "Would you like to come and meet my friends in Flutter Valley?" asked Baby Lucky. "We'd love to," said all of the big boy ponies together. "But we'll always come back to our mountain home," added Thundercloud. "For the wise magician lives here and Ice Crystal has to make an icy mist every day because the magician says it looks nice swirling over and around our mountain." "So there is magic in the Misty Mountain," laughed Baby Lucky. "Made by the Mountain Boy Ponies!"
THE SUMMER TREASURE HUNT Part two (Huh? I don't recall a 'part one'?!)
"Look, Majesty is pinning a notice to that tree," said Bubbles. "Let's go and see what it says!"
"A summer treasure hunt!" read Bubbles. "What fun!" cried Sprinkles. "How kind of Majesty to think up such lovely games. Let's go and find the first clue. We'll go to Dream Castle and tell the others... that's where the hunt starts!"
Soon everyone was busy searching for the clue. "It's not in my bucket," said Spike to Baby Tiddly Winks.
"It's not in the throne room either," said Bubbles. "I've found it... in one of Majesty's shoes!" cried Sprinkles!
"What does it say?" asked the ponies. "Pony feathers, that means the Flower Bower... but whose nose?"
"That's for me to know and you to find out," laughed Majesty, as they all ran off to the Flower Bower.
"Heavy hooves, there are lots of flowers," sighed Baby Lucky. "And they all smell sweet... but... hey... look!"
"It's the SMELLING BEE," gigged Baby Lucky. "Look at his long pointed nose. Give a clue, please!"
Buzzing loudly, the bee flew down to Baby Lucky. "Please give us a clue," Baby Lucky asked again. Baby Tiddly Winks was trying to count the bee's stripes but she stopped as he said: "Round and round you all may go. You may need a friend to give a clue at the end."
"Round and round... the Amazing Maze! That must be where we'll find the next clue... if only we can find our way to the end," said Bubbles. "Come on, let's go!" But, as usual, the maze proved very very hard... it seemed to lead nowhere!
"Follow the sound of my tail. I can see the end," called Medley. "The Smelling Bee was right!" said Bubbles.
"Wait for me," cried Spike. "Hurray, we're out. But where's the next clue. Can you see it?"
"I can't see anyone only Skyflier," grumbled Bubbles. "Wait a minute... look at her kite!" she added.
"We're nearly at the end... we'll soon find the treasure. I wonder what it will be?" said Spike impatiently.
"Heavy hooves... does that mean we must go back through the maze and through Flower Bower?" groaned Bubbles.
"I'm tired... and hot and hungry," wailed Baby Tiddly Winks. "I want to go home!" "Me too!" said Baby Lucky.
"You silly baby pony," scolded the owl. "Can't you see that's what the clue means? Go back home!"
Just as the seekers reached Dream Castle they saw Rob Rabbit waiting for them. He held out a note.
Waiting for them in Dream Castle were Majesty and Gingerbread with bowls of lovely strawberries and ice-cream! A real treat on a hot summer's day. "What a lovely surprise," laughed Baby Tiddly-Winks. "Much better than jewels and gold!"
THE MYSTERIOUS CASTLE OF SHELLS Part two
Baby Lucky is trying to rescue Miranda and the baby sea ponies from the Castle of Shells, home of the Shell Sorcerer.
"It is time you joined your friend Miranda in filling my oysters with pearls," cried the Shell Sorcerer. "It is a task that goes on forever...so you can never be freed!" The baby ponies began to cry as they were herded into the room.
The sorcerer fled, locking the door behind him. Miranda and the baby ponies looked at each other. "We must escape," they said.
Meanwhile, Baby Lucky watched the Shell Sorcerer leaving for the treasure caves. "I'll be back soon," he told his sharks.
"If only I had a ladder to get to the top," said Baby Lucky. "Happy-go-Lucky, I wish the shells would reach to the sky."
"Happy hooves now I can climb to the top...oh, the windows are barred... with shells like horn cakes!"
"I wish the bars were cream cakes," said Miranda. From far away, Majesty granted the mermaid's wish.
"The bars have turned into cakes," said Sea Shimmer. "They taste delicious... try one, Tiny Bubbles!"
"Never mind the cakes... climb down the ladder. We haven't much time!" cried Baby Lucky. "We can't climb," said Miranda.
"No, but you can all dive into the sea," said Baby Lucky. "Hurry. I can see the Shell Sorcerer returning to the castle!"
"You shan't escape... after them, my shark soldiers," cried the sorcerer. "They're gaining on us... what can we do?" shrieked the baby sea ponies to Baby Lucky. "Tiny Bubbles make lots of bubbles!" ordered the boy pony quickly.
"Happy-go-Lucky, I wish the bubbles would grow big enough to block the way!" said Baby Lucky as they swam along.
The bubbles grew larger and larger until they made a solid wall through which the soldiers could not pass!
At last they reached Pony Land where Majesty and Gypsy waited to welcome them. "Baby Lucky was wonderful!" said Miranda.
"Here's your comb... and something else," Baby Lucky said to Miranda. "I found it at the castle. Wear it to the ball tonight!"

WING SONG'S WISHING SONG
"Wing Song, wake up," said Cloud Puff. "The clouds are beautiful today, you'll be able to finish writing your song."
Wing Song woke up and stared dreamily at the clouds. "You're right," she smiled. "It's a perfect day for song-writing."
"We've made you a flower garden in the sky," said Morning Glory. "The flowers will help you with your song."
"I'll find Wind Drifter," Cloud Puff decided. "Then we'll make the clouds dance for you, Wing Song."
And before long, the beautiful clouds were dancing gently over the flower garden in the sky. Wing Song started to sing.
When the little imps, who lived in Flutter Valley, heard Wing Song singing, they laughed happily and crept over to listen to her. Something special always seemed to happen whenever Wing Song wrote a new song. "Sit here," whispered Rosedust.
"Look," said Morning Glory quietly, "now Wing Song's singing in the sky, the clouds are changing shape." "They're drifting further away, too," said Rosedust. "Wind Drifter and Cloud Puff look quite surprised. The flower garden's moving as well."
"The shape of the clouds reminds me of something," said Morning Glory. "They remind me of..."
"You know," interrupted Rosedust. "We haven't seen Majesty, or any of the little ponies, for ages."
"Do you think that's because they're too busy enjoying something special?" asked Morning Glory. "Oh, Rosedust, listen to the words of Wing Song's song. We must join her." "Please take us with you," begged the imps. "Climb up," said Rosedust.
"I wish the clouds would lead us," sang Wing Song, "to a place we love and know. It's called Paradise Estate, we saw it... long ago." "I knew the clouds reminded me of something," called Morning Glory. "I'm singing a wishing song," sang Wing Song.
"We must be going somewhere very special," said the little imps. "You don't usually fly this far, Rosedust."
"We only leave Flutter Valley for something special," agreed Rosedust. "Look, there's Dream Castle below us."
In the distance, Wing Song's wind chimes tinkled merrily. The beautiful clouds drifted downwards.
"I'm not making them drift down," called Wind Drifter. "Neither am I," laughed Cloud Puff excitedly.
One by one, the flutter ponies fluttered down into a pretty valley. The clouds danced mistily in front of them. "I'm singing a wishing song," sang Wing Song loudly. "I can hear voices," said Cloud Puff. "I'm sure the little ponies are behind the clouds."
"Puff the clouds away, Cloud Puff," ordered Rosedust gently. Wind Drifter helped and before long...
"It is Paradise Estate," gasped Morning Glory. "The little ponies have found it again, at last."
"Come through the gates, Wing Song," called Magic Star. "I sent magic clouds to bring you here. We found Paradise a few days ago, hidden away in this pretty valley. We're having a Welcome Party, and we wanted all our friends to be here."
You can read all about the discovery of Paradise Estate in the MY LITTLE PONY MAGAZINE POSTER Number 2. It's on sale now!
A SHOCK FOR SPIKE
"Has anyone seen Spike?" asked Majesty, leaning out of the window of Dream Castle and calling to some of the little ponies who were playing in the meadow below. "He keeps disappearing each day and looks very shy and coy when I ask him where he has been... I do hope that he's not getting into mischief!" Lickety-Split and Gusty looked at each other and giggled. "I think you'll find Spike down on the sands," laughed Cotton Candy. "Ever since the water sprites swam over to spend their holiday by the sea, Spike has been down every day. He likes to talk to them... especially Rilla!" "Rilla... pony feathers, yes, I remember... she's the prettiest of all the water sprites," chuckled Majesty. "Yes... Spike certainly thinks so," giggled Peachy and Posey. "I see," chuckled Majesty. "So Spike has found himself a new little friend. But I hope he remembers to be sensible. Water sprites live deep in the water and it's a long time since I sprinkled Spike with foam dust so that he could swim in the sea. I do hope he remembers that only sea dragons like Drago can swim without help. Perhaps I had better go down and remind him!" And off she set. Spike was enjoying himself so much with the water sprites that he completely forgot that he couldn't swim. "Come on, Spike, we're playing Catch-Me-If-You-Can," called Rilla. "Fire and flames... I don't know..." began Spike. But when Lobbie Lobster began to chase Rilla, the little dragon ran into the water and started after them! "Go away, Rilla wants to play with me!" he said crossly to Lobbie. "Off you go then," replied Lobbie kindly and went off to see his friend Clarence Crab. "I've nearly caught you," laughed Spike, as Rilla, swam very close to him. "Oh, my feet have left the sea bed, I'm drowning... I can't swim!" The little water sprite swam over to him in alarm. "Oh, Spike, I didn't realise that you couldn't swim," cried Rilla. "I'll try to hold you up until someone comes along... sad sprites, you are heavy!" "Help... help..." shouted poor Spike. Suddenly up swam Beachcomber and Tiny Bubbles. "What can we do?" Tiny Bubbles asked Beachcomber. "Quickly, make lots of light bubbles and we will tie them onto Spike's scales so that they will act as water wings," said Beachcomber who was quite clever and often had bright ideas. "Quickly, Tiny Bubbles, poor Rilla is looking very tired!" So Tiny Bubbles swam around and made lots of transparent bubbles which the other water sprites tied to Spike's scale tail so that they kept him afloat when Rilla finally let go! Majesty just arrived in time to see Rilla, the sprites and the baby sea ponies helping Spike back to shore. "Oh, thank you, thank you," cried poor Spike sinking down onto the sand. "I'll never go into the sea again..." Then as he saw Rilla looking very sad, he added hastily, "Not unless Majesty sprinkles me with sea foam dust!" "I think today I will just sprinkle Rilla with Dream Castle flakes so that she can come on land and stay for tea," laughed Majesty. "What a lovely idea... Rilla, please come to tea," begged Spike. "Oh, yes, please," cried the little water sprite. "I shall be the first sea creature to visit Dream Castle... what a great honour!"
BOW TIE AND THE KITE KOBOLD Part one
Bow Tie had been busy making lots of rosettes for Lemon Drop's next show! "Is this enough?" asked Bow Tie.
"Could you just make a few more?" replied Lemon Drop. "I'll have to get some more ribbon," said Bow Tie.
"Pony feathers, all the ribbon bushes are empty," said Bow Tie. "I'll have to look somewhere else!"
Then suddenly a spool of red ribbon rolled right under Bow Tie's hooves. But, as she picked it up, someone seemed to tug at the end of the ribbon. It started to unroll... and Bow Tie was forced to follow unless she dropped the spool.
"Come back, Bow Tie," called Rob Rabbit. "The ribbon will lead you into great danger!" But Bow Tie didn't hear.
Just then Majesty galloped up and Rab told her what had happened. "I must get back to Dream Castle!" said Majesty.
Back at Dream Castle, Majesty, Rab and Spike watched what was happening to Bow Tie. "Scales and fire, the ribbon is pulling her into that dark cave," cried Spike. "I'm sure someone horrid lives there!" "You're right... Kobb... the Kite Kobold!"
"At last... I knew I would catch a little pony... and Bow Tie too. Just the one I need," said Kobb.
"Who are you?" asked poor Bow Tie. "I am Kobb the Kite Kobold. I need someone to finish my kites... you!"
"But I shall never be able to make all these kites," sobbed Bow Tie. "I hate this dark place!"
"That is because you are a pony and not a kobold. We mine jewels in the dark!" mocked Kobb.
"We only go outside once a year... to fly our kites... every kobold has a kite... I need hundreds!"
Kobb went out and Bow Tie was left alone. "I want ten kites finished by morning," he called from outside.
Poor Bow Tie! She was so frightened that she just couldn't make the bows to put on the tail kites. She kept dropping them and she just couldn't tie them on the kite. "I shall never get out of here," she wept. "I shall never get home again!"
Will Bow Tie remain in the Kite Kobold's cave forever? Find out in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY!
SEA SHIMMER AND THE SEA SERPENT
One day Majesty sprinkled magic foam dust over Masquerade and Buttons. "Off you go!" she said.
The two little ponies had been invited to tea with King Neptune as a very special treat. Soon they were floating down into his wonderful undersea kingdom, meeting several old friends... including Connie Crab and Lobbie Lobster.
King Neptune was waiting to welcome them. "I do like my guests to be prompt," he cried. Masquerade and Buttons smiled.
"Now that you are here, I'll call the sea ponies in to tea," the king said, raising his shell horn.
The baby sea ponies knew that whenever they heard the shell horn, they had to return home at once... no matter how much fun they were having! "Sea and shells, we've got to go now," cried Sea Star. "See you tomorrow, Dolly. Come on, everyone!"
"I'm not going yet!" declared Sea Shimmer. "I'm playing hide and seek with Miranda!" The others looked at her.
"You're being very naughty," scolded Tiny Bubbles. "King Neptune will be very cross. We're having guests to tea."
King Neptune was cross. "Sea Shimmer is very impolite!" he cried. "My horn must be obeyed!"
Everyone sat down to tea, but Masquerade kept thinking about naughty Sea Shimmer. Soon she had an idea.
Later, when the baby ponies were playing 'Hunt the Shell' with Buttons, Masquerade whispered something into the king's ear. Neptune threw back his head and roared with laughter. "What a good idea!" he said "I will find what you need!"
Neptune sent his fish guards to bring up bales of shimmering silk from his treasure cave...
... and Masquerade made an ugly shell head which just looked like a sea serpent! "This will do the trick," she said.
A little later Sea Shimmer was chased home by a strange sea serpent... sobbing and frightened!
"I'll always come when I'm called in future," she promised. "I never want to meet that serpent again!"

TOOTSIE AND THE TINY TEAPOT
"Goodbye, Tootsie!" shouted her friends. "Have a lovely holiday."
"I'll tell you all about the Teapot Party when I come back," laughed Tootsie. "What is a Teapot Party?" Fizzy asked.
"Betsy Bake-a-Lot collects teapots," Gusty explained. "Every time she finds some new ones she has a party."
Tootsie sang happily as she trotted through Feather Forest and before long, she could see Betsy's pretty little cottage.
"Let me take your case, Tootsie," said Betsy, as she hurried to greet the little pony. "I am glad you can stay awhile."
"I stan cay for two nights," said Tootsie, muddling her words in excitement. "Pony feathers, now I've made lollipops grow on your doorstep." "My guests can pick them when they come to the party," chuckled Betsy. "Step over them and come in, Tootsie."
"Oh, you've got lots of new teapots," said Tootsie as she looked at Betsy's collection. "When is the Teapot Party?"
"It's tomorrow," replied Betsy. "I thought you could help me polish them, Tootsie. I'll find you an apron while you unpack."
Tootsie and Betsy worked hard and soon there were only a few teapots left to polish. "If you finish these, I'll go and make some pancakes for tea," said Betsy. "My favourites," smiled Tootsie, as she started to polish a tiny teapot.
After tea, Tootsie and Betsy tidied up. Suddenly, Tootsie yawned loudly. "Bedtime for you," ordered Betsy.
Tootsie was so tired, she fell asleep without eating her supper. But she hadn't been asleep long when...
"Tootsie! Wake up, I need your help." Tootsie opened her eyes and stared in amazement at the tiny teapot by her bed. "Teapots can't talk," muttered Tootsie. "Look inside me," said the teapot, sliding onto the bed. Tootsie rolled off the bed.
"Take my lid off," said the teapot. "All right," said Tootsie bravely. The next second, a tiny elf popped out!
"I'm a teapot maker," explained the elf. "When I made this one, I got stuck in the spout. I was there for ages!"
"You must have slipped out of the spout when I cleaned the teapot," said Tootsie. Then, she went back to sleep.
Next morning, Betsy was delighted when she found two new teapots. Tootsie smiled, what a lot she'd have to tell her friends!
POSEY HELPS LUCY LOCKET
"Are we going down to the sands today?" asked the baby ponies. "Not today," replied Majesty looking up at the bright summer sky. "Farmer Pipp has asked you all over to Pippin Farm for the day. There will be lots of things to do and, as it is Nursery Rhyme Land, you will meet lots of old friends!" "Perhaps we'll find Boy Blue asleep under the haystack again," giggled Baby Glory. "I'm going to find my little speckledy hen and see if she will lay an egg especially for me," said Posey. "And I'll go and pick some scarlet poppies and blue cornflowers among the ripe corn. We'll put them in a vase in the Show Stable. Lemon Drop will like that." "I'm sure she'll be busy trying to jump the hedges, as usual," laughed Posey. "There she goes, running ahead of everyone. Poor Brandy can't keep up with her. She's waiting for us. Go and join her, Twinkles. Tell her we won't be long!" So Twinkles the cat ran off to catch up with Brandy while Majesty and the other ponies walked along more slowly towards Pippin Farm which lay on the edge of Pony Land in Nursery Rhyme Land. The farmer and his wife were waiting for them. "You can go anywhere you like," said Farmer Pipp. "Enjoy yourselves... but please remember to shut all the gates. I don't want any of my animals to stray and get lost!" "We'll all be very careful!" promised Majesty. "Off you go, ponies! We'll all meet here for lunch under the shady apple tree over there!" "I think I'll just stay here," said Applejack, eyeing the loaded tree. "Pony feathers, no you won't," protested Majesty. "Off you go and give the farmer a hoof with the haymaking. It will give you a good appetite for lunch!" "I don't need to work up an appetite for apples," grinned Applejack. "But haymaking is fun. Are you coming, Posey?" "Yes, but I'm going to pick some flowers," replied Posey. "May I come with you?" asked Baby Cotton Candy eagerly. "Only if you promise not to eat any," laughed Posey. "Oh, there's my little speckledy hen. Hello, Speckles. Do you remember me?" "Dear Posey, of course I do," clucked Speckles happily. "When Farmer Pipp told me that you were coming... I laid you this..." "Oh, happy hooves, Speckles, what a lovely egg," praised Posey. "You are a kind little hen. I wish that I could do something in return for you!" "Perhaps you can," clucked Speckles. "Lucy Locket and Kitty Fisher, two of the dolls who live in the shoe came for a can of milk this morning. They came through the cornfields and somehow Lucy lost her pocket purse with the money in it. She's down there looking for it now." "Baby Cotton Candy and I will go down and help to look," said Posey. "Please keep my egg safe until I get back!" So Baby Cotton Candy and Posey and Twinkles went across the farm yard into the cornfields, closing the gates carefully behind them. Kitty and Lucy were still there. "Have you found your purse yet?" asked Posey. Lucy shook her head. "The corn is so high now that I don't think we will ever find it," she said. "Please don't give up. I'll pick some of the flowers. Perhaps it may have fallen among those," she said. "Take care not to smell the poppies too deeply. They will send you to sleep," warned Lucy. "Look, Kitty has fallen asleep already. We'd better wake her up." Posey shook the little girl gently. "Wake up, Kitty," she called. "Pony feathers, Lucy, I think that I've found your purse. Look, Kitty is lying on it. She's fallen asleep on a purse pillow... wait a minute... it's moving... there's something inside..." "Wheat and chaff, Posey, we are glad that Kitty has awoken," squeaked a tiny voice. "We thought this purse would make us a snug home and crept inside... but Kitty suddenly lay down on it." "Flowery flowers, two little field mice," cried Posey, looking down as the small creatures crept out. Kitty sat up and rubbed her eyes sleepily. "Heavy hooves, you poor little things," said Baby Cotton Candy. "Are you sure that you are all right?" "Yes... but now we will have to look for a new home," sighed the fieldmice. "It gets so cold in autumn once the fields are just stubble!" "I'd take you home to live with me in our shoe, but there are such a lot of us there already, aren't there, Kitty?" said Lucy Locket. Kitty nodded, giving each of the fieldmice an ear of corn to eat to show them that she was sorry about squashing them. Suddenly the little mice squealed in horror. "A cat... a cat..." they shrieked. "Pony feathers, Twinkles won't hurt you," said Peachy galloping up at that moment with Majesty and Lemon Drop at her heels. Posey quickly explained about Lucy's missing purse and how they had found it again. "Can the mice stay to lunch?" she asked. "Happy hooves, yes, Mistress Pipp and I have been busy all morning, there's plenty for all... including two little fieldmice," replied Majesty, with a twinkle in her eye. As everyone tucked in happily Majesty watched the baby ponies, especially Baby Cotton Candy playing and chatting to Freddie and Fanny the two mice. When it was time to go the little mice looked very sad... and so did the baby ponies. "Majesty..." said Baby Cotton Candy. "I was wondering...?" "If the baby ponies could have two little pets of their own?" interrupted Majesty with a smile. "Well, I'm sure we could find a little corner somewhere... not in the Lullaby Nursery... baby ponies would never get to sleep... but I do know of a snug warm little corner in Dream Castle... just big enough for two little mice!" "Oh, thank you, Majesty," cried Cotton Candy. "Now we have two special friends of our very own! And thank you, Posey, if you hadn't found Lucy's purse, we would never have found our pets!" Posey smiled and, carrying lots of flowers from the cornfield, she went back to the farm...for her very special egg.
BABY BLOSSOM'S UNLUCKY DAY
The baby ponies had been invited to a party by the Sugar Plum Fairies. They were excited!
"Baby Blossom, aren't you ready yet?" asked her friends. "We'll be late...you must catch us up!"
"Heavy hooves, there's Mag Magpie," said Baby Blossom. "One for sorrow...I hope I see another one quickly!"
At last Baby Blossom was ready and she set off. On the way she saw the fairy painters!
"Don't walk under the ladder," cried Lilac. "I must...I'm in a hurry!" said the baby pony.
Suddenly, Scarlett dropped the brush...and splattered paint all over Baby Blossom! What a mess she was!
"I'm sorry," said the painter. "Now I will have to go back to change," sighed Baby Blossom.
But, when she got back to the Lullaby Nursery, the door was stuck and she couldn't get in!
"Don't cry, Baby Blossom," called North Star who was passing. "Go and wash in the pool to get clean!"
So Baby Blossom went down to the pool and Duck Soup and Sprinkled splashed her, trying to get rid of the paint...but they splashed so hard that not only did the paint disappear...so did the colours in Baby Blossom's pinafore dress! "It looks horrid now!" she cried.
"Take your dress off and I'll dip it in the Rainbow. It'll soon dry in the sun," said North Star.
North Star spread the dyed costume on the grass and when it was dry it looked lovely! North Star smiled.
"I look better than I did before," cried the baby pony. "I do hope that the party hasn't started yet!"
"No, we can't start yet, we've no flowers for the table...and I can't find any anywhere!" said a little fairy.
"I'll show you where to find some," said Baby Blossom. "There are a lots in Flowery Bower...it's on the way!"
How surprised her friends were to see her bright pinafore! "It wasn't an unlucky day after all," thought Blossom.
Whatever they're doing, ponies dress for the occasion.

BOW TIE AND THE KITE KOBOLD FINAL PART:
The Kite Kobold holds Bow Tie prisoner in his cave, ordering her to make bows for all his kites...
At last poor Bow Tie fell asleep worn out with all her efforts. She dreamed of her friends back at Dream Castle and thought that she heard someone calling her. "Who is it...what do you want?" she murmured, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"I'm Sugarpuff, the sugar plum fairy. I've come to help you. Rab told us what had happened!"
"The doors and windows are locked," said Bow Tie. "Even you couldn't get through...and you are tiny!"
"Take the sugar plums and offer them to Kobb when he returns," said the fairy. "Take one at a time!"
Bow Tie had a large dish of sugar plums just as they heard the Kite Kobold returning. "Offer him the plums!" said the fairy.
"Have you only finished two kites?" sneered the kobold. "Then you will go hungry...no oats for you, Bow Tie!"
"I'm having sugar plums for breakfast," retorted Bow Tie. "Where did you get those?" asked the kobold in surprise.
"I like sugar plums...give them to me!" ordered the kobold crossly. "You can have these oats!"
"You shouldn't eat plums like that," said Bow Tie. "They're very special, full of sugar and..."
"I shall eat as many sugar plums as I like," snapped Kobb. "Oh...oh, my tooth, it's hurting...it's all the..."
"Serves you right... now you will have to go and see the Tooth Fairy," said Bow Tie. "She'll make your tooth better."
"I hope she has lots of tooth tincture," cried the kobold. "My kite will fly me there!" And off he went.
"He's left the door open in his hurry," laughed Bow Tie. "I'm free!" "I'll show you the way home," said the fairy.
As they made their way home, Bow Tie and Sugarpuff saw Kobb disappearing into the distance, holding tightly to his kite. "Thank you for helping me," said Bow Tie. "Baby Ribbon once helped me to find flowers for a special party. One good turn deserves another," said Sugarpuff.

DRAGON MAGIC
"Majesty, when will Spike be back from the Land of Dragons?" asked Baby Lucky anxiously. "Will he be back tomorrow?"
"Baby Lucky's worried in case Spike isn't here for his birthday," said Heart Throb. "He'll be back," laughed Majesty.
"Of course he will," agreed Heart Throb. "It's Spike's birthday, too, remember." "His Special Birthday," added Sunbeam.
"Oh, yes!" said Baby Lucky. "Spike's great-grandfather gave him the Special Birthday last year, Spike shared it with me so we'd both be lucky forever. I'd forgotten that. I'll have to make him a card." "That's what we're doing," said Locket.
"Can I share your painting things?" asked Baby Lucky, trotting over to the table. "He'll see his cards," thought Sunbeam.
Majesty twirled her magic horn and the cards the ponies had made for Baby Lucky disappeared. Sunbeam sighed with relief!
"I'm going to paint a picture of a drum on Spike's card," decided the baby boy pony. "Spike likes drums."
"I've made him a trick card," said Locket. "Look, when you pull the key upwards a dragon pops out."
"Spike will like your card best," chuckled Baby Lucky. "It's a magic dragon card." "Dragons often are magic, aren't they?" said Heart Throb. "Only when they're hundreds and hundreds of years old," said Baby Lucky. "Spike told me that himself."
Meanwhile, Spike was on his way back from the Land of Dragons. He was walking very slowly because he was carrying a parcel.
"If only I was old enough to make Dragon Magic," muttered Spike. "I'd make this present for Pony Land carry itself!"
Maybe there was a bit of dragon magic around; when Spike picked the parcel up again it didn't seem quite as heavy.
It was a long way to Pony Land and by the time Spike could see Dream Castle, it was getting dark. Spike was so tired!
"It's no good," said poor Spike, "I can't carry this parcel any further. I'll leave it here until morning."
When Spike arrived at Dream Castle, Majesty sent him straight to bed. The little dragon was soon fast asleep.
Next morning, Spike and Baby Lucky were so busy opening their birthday cards that Spike forgot all about the parcel he'd left outside. But when he saw the magic dragon card from Locket, he remembered. "I needed some dragon magic yesterday!"
"What for?" asked Baby Lucky. "Great-grandfather sent a present for Pony Land," explained Spike. "It's outside."
"Where abouts outside?" shouted Baby Lucky. "I love presents." "It's by the nursery," said Spike. "Come on, everyone."
"Listen, I can hear music!" said Baby Lucky as they hurried towards the nursery. "The baby ponies are playing Happy Birthday." "They're not. The music is coming from the parcel," shouted Spike. "What's happened to it? It wasn't that big yesterday!"
"I didn't make it big!" said Baby Lucky. "Manes and muzzles, I didn't." "It must have been Dragon Magic," said Spike.
"Spike! The parcel is unwrapping itself," called Locket. The music got louder and the babies hurried out from the nursery.
"Spike, where did it come from?" asked Baby Lickety-Split. "What is it?" asked Baby Surprise. "The writing says Baby Bonnet School of Dance," read Spike. "And my great-grandfather sent it. But I can't open the door. I need some dragon magic!"
"Or pegasus magic," laughed Locket, and she touched the key on Spike's card. The key moved towards the door...
"It's a real dancing school!" said Spike. "What a lovely present from my great-grandfather. Happy Birthday to us!"
"Majesty," said Locket quietly, as they watched Spike and the ponies dancing to the music. "I think there is some Dragon Magic around. The key was supposed to go back onto the birthday card, but it's floating about up there!"
"Follow it, Locket," said Majesty. So Locket flew after the key. After a long time she saw a beautiful lake.
From his secret hiding place, Spike's great-grandfather smiled and nodded as he watched Locket land by the lake.
Locket felt very excited as she watched two swans swimming towards her. "The lilac swan is holding a key," she said.
"Locket, Dragon Magic has brought you here," said the yellow swan. "Now we will show you the secret of Swan Lake!"
Wherever Megan takes Sundance, she makes sure she's dressed to match.
When Megan and Sundance go riding together they make a fine pair. Megan likes to wear her favourite green dungarees. To go with her dungarees she has chosen a pink and white puff-sleeved blouse, matching pink shoes and a pink ribbon in her hair. After thinking so much about her own clothes she couldn't leave Sundance out. So a matching green cape with a pink and white border seemed just the right thing. You'll find Megan and Sundance together in a special presentation pack for £13.99 or less.
THE SECRET OF SWAN LAKE
"Locket, before you learn the secret of Swan Lake, you must eat some of our special honey," a little yellow honey bee told her. "My name is Iris, which means messenger." "So your message to me is to eat special honey?" laughed Locket. "That's right," replied Iris. "My friend Pandora will give you some. Pandora's name means many gifts, the honey is just one gift." The other honey bee smiled shyly as she handed a tiny comb of honey to Locket. "Many a time your friend Honeycomb almost found us and our honey," said Pandora. "But we knew we had to wait until Dragon Magic brought someone here." "I think Dragon Magic stopped Honeycomb from finding us," said the yellow swan, as Locket ate the honey. "The Land of Dragons is quite near here, though we never actually visit it." "The dragons always know where to find me," explained Iris. "They give me messages to bring to my friends here. Once, a very old dragon gave a message to Hop and Jump, the two little rabbits, but they forgot it by the time they got back to the lake." "The message was something to do with Pony Land," said Hop, "but that's all we could remember." "And we never saw the old dragon again," added Jump. "We think he went to the Land of Very Old Dragons, and we don't know where that is." "Well, it doesn't matter now," said the lilac swan kindly. "I think everything is going to be made right today. Locket, you must take your key back now, Hop and Jump will give you some woven lace, you can tie it around your neck. Making lace is their special job," she added, smiling at the little rabbits. "It's very pretty," said Locket, as she slipped the lace necklace over her head. "There, my key is perfectly safe now." "Come on then," said the yellow swan. "You must follow us, Locket. The honey bees and rabbits will wait here." The two swans flew gracefully into the sky and Locket followed them. "I didn't know your lake was so big," she said to Lucinda, the lilac swan. "Some days it's big, other days it's small," said the lilac swan. "That's one of it's secrets. And here's the secret we want to show you," she added. "Just look down there." Locket looked down and below her was a small island. In the middle of the island was a lilac baby pony. She was wearing a white lacy tutu, a pretty tiara and leg warmers. "That's Baby Half Note," said the yellow swan. She taught us all to dance. She wants to live in Pony Land but we couldn't work out how to get her off the island." "I'll put my key around her neck," said Locket. "I'm sure something will happen then," and Locket flew down to Baby Half Note. "Have you come to take me to Pony Land?" asked the baby pony eagerly. "I can't fly, or swim, you know." "Just wear my magic key," said Locket. "I'll see you back in Pony Land." Locket put the key around the baby pony's neck and smiled as Baby Half Note disappeared! "Has she gone to Pony Land?" asked the swans. "Now we can go, too. Will you bring Hop and Jump, Locket?" "Of course," laughed Locket, "they're just over there, Swan Lake has gone small again. Let's fly over to them. Then, we'll fly to Pony Land. But Iris and Pandora must lead the way. Pandora is the one who gives many gifts." "Which part of Pony Land shall I fly to?" asked the lilac honey bee. "To the Baby Bonnet School of Dance," replied Locket. "Baby Half Note will be waiting there for you." "This time, we won't have to travel through underground burrows to see Baby Half Note," said the two rabbits, as they scrambled onto Locket's back. And as they all flew home to Pony Land, the beautiful Swan Lake disappeared!

THE STARS OF THE PARTY
"Aren't we having a lovely birthday?" said Baby Lucky to Spike. "It's only lunch time and a lot's happened already."
"I like Baby Half Note and her friends," laughed Spike. "Fancy my great-grandfather having enough dragon magic to make Locket find them." "But you brought my School of Dance to Pony Land," said Baby Half Note, nuzzling the little dragon.
"Oh, look, here's Sunbeam," said Spike. "You haven't met her yet. She loves arranging parties."
"That's right, I do," said Sunbeam. "I've arranged a party for tonight." "Could I perform a dance?" asked Baby Half Note.
"She's very good," said Spike, "she danced for us earlier." "I'll dance now," laughed Baby Half Note, "I love dancing!"
Later, Sunbeam whispered something to Baby Half Note. The baby pony nodded then danced out of the courtyard.
"Nobody's to follow her," ordered Sunbeam. "It's a secret." Spike and Baby Lucky laughed as Sunbeam trotted away.
"It will be something to do with our party," Spike said happily. "You must rest now," Majesty told them.
That night, everyone cheered Baby Half Note and her friends. "They're the stars of the party!" roared Spike. "Here are some Wishing Stars," laughed Twilight. "I wish to share Spike nd Baby Lucky's birthday," said Baby Half Note. "Wish granted!" called Twilight.

SPEEDY MAKES A MISTAKE
Spike, Baby Gusty and Brandy were watching Speedy practise her skating in Dream Castle's meadow.
"I could easily beat Speedy if somebody would lend me a skateboard," boasted Spike. "I can go very fast you know."
"Don't be silly, Spike!" barked Brandy. "Speedy's roller skates are magic. That's why she can skate so fast."
"I believe you, Spike," said Baby Gusty. "And I know where there's a skateboard." "Come on then!" shouted Spike. "Let's go and get it." "It's in the water fountain," giggled Baby Gusty. "I think Bubbles got it muddy and left it there to get clean."
Soon, Spike was riding the skateboard around the meadow. "Your skates aren't as magic as my tail," he said.
"Oh, look!" gasped Baby Gusty. "Spike's going to crash into the stone wall." "Dismal dragons!" howled Spike. "Help!"
The little dragon whizzed backwards down the wall and landed with a bump. He wasn't hurt but the skateboard was damaged.
"Maybe my tail isn't magic," sighed Spike looking at Speedy. "And this wheel won't turn round. Whatever can I do?"
"My friend the Wheel Wizard will soon mend it," soothed Speedy. "I'll take you to him, Spike. Hang onto my tail."
"Tell Bubbles what has happened," Spike shouted to his friends as he and Speedy left the courtyard.
Speedy's roller skates were so magic they even let her skate in the sky! She was skating so fast that she missed the way.
Before long, a crowd of strange figures blocked Speedy's way. She skidded to a halt and Spike soared over her head.
"Ho-Ho-Ho!" laughed the figures as Spike landed in front of them. "This poor little dragon has lost his feet." "I have NOT!" Spike roared bravely. "I'm standing on them. See?" "Aren't these your feet?" one of them asked, picking up the skateboard.
"The pony's got proper feet," another figure said. "But she's got sixteen of them!" "How strange," said his friends.
"Welcome to the Land of Ride-About," said the figures. "Shall we mend the dragon's feet for him?" "Please," laughed Speedy.
"There, your feet are mended, dragon. Put them on and come and have some tea. Ride-Abouts enjoy having visitors for tea." "I am glad you made a mistake and came the wrong way," Spike whispered to Speedy. "I like the Land of Ride-About!"
COTTON CANDY AND THE CORN DOLLY Part 1
It had been a lovely hot summer. The hay and corn had ripened early... and the ponies had helped to bring in the harvest.
Lemon Drop and Applejack were riding back with the last load of hay. "I'm looking forward to the harvest supper," said Applejack. "Mrs Barleycorn makes lovely apple pasties." "I like her sugar and lemon buns," replied Lemon Drop.
Suddenly the door of the farmhouse burst open and Cotton Candy ran out. She had been helping the farmer's wife.
"Come inside," she said. "Something terrible has happened!" "Have the pasties burned?" asked Applejack.
But inside, the table groaned with goodies. "What a spread," said Applejack. "We'll have a lovely supper!"
"We can't have a harvest supper without our corn dolly... and she's run away," wept Mrs Barleycorn. "I don't know why!"
"Goldie was looking forward to being our Harvest Corn Dolly," said Cotton Candy. "We must try and find her!"
Just then Rob Rabbit popped his head in the door. "I know why Goldie ran away," he said. "It was something Chiff Imp said."
"I should have known that bad imp had been here," sighed Mrs Barleycorn. "Look, the milk churn's overturned."
"The chaff imp is always causing trouble," said Rob. "He told Goldie that she would be buried in the ground with the new seed!"
"What a fib!" snorted Cotton Candy. "We must find her and tell her that when the party's over, she'll live in the loft!"
"But how do we do that?" asked Lemon Drop. "With my help," said Rob and began to ring his bell.
"I had forgotten that Rob was the Woodland Crier," said Lemon Drop. "He knows all the news... and his bell brings everyone to him when it rings. Goldie ran away last night... when Ozzie Owl was out and about. Perhaps he saw Goldie."
"Yes... I did," said Ozzie. "Chiff the chaff imp was leading her through the Weird Wood... and then he left her all alone!"
"The Weird Wood is a terrible place in the dark!" said Cotton Candy. "I do hope Goldie didn't meet the trolls!"
What has happened to Goldie? Find out in the next issue of My Little Pony!
Every pony dreams of living in paradise.
One cold rainy day, all the ponies got together and started to daydream about their holiday. "Isn't it wonderful" they said, "to have a lovely day out to look forward to." "Holiday?" lisped Cloud Puff, "I haven't heard about the holiday." (The trouble with Cloud Puff, she always has her head in the clouds.) "Then we'll tell you all about it," said Majesty kindly. "It will make the Big Day seem closer." "We're going to the Paradise Estate," laughed North Star. "A perfect sort of place where we can swim and sunbathe and frolic to our heart's content." "It has a swimming pool" cried Water Lily. "And a diving board" all the Baby Sea ponies shouted happily. "There's a beautiful patio too. For Megan to sunbathe on." "Oh yes," put in Skyrocket. "It has a kitchen, two beautiful bedrooms and even a nursery for Wing Song. Each one is furnished very prettily. You'll love the chairs, tables and cots at the Paradise Estate." "In fact, there's sixty different pieces" said Sundance proudly. "That's why it's called Paradise Estate." "And we all know every pony dreams of living in Paradise" said Majesty quietly as she switched out the light. "Goodnight Ponies, goodnight."
A HAT FOR THE WEATHER WITCH
"Storms and thunderclouds, Wind Whistler, why don't you look where you're going? You almost knocked me off my broomstick!" snapped the Weather Witch. "I'm sorry, but actually it was..." began Wind Whistler, rather indignantly. "Little ponies shouldn't argue with witches... the weather might turn stormy," retorted the Weather Witch as she disappeared into a large cloud. "Heavy hooves, I wonder what has upset her?" asked North Star as the two flying ponies flew down into Dream Meadows. "I hope she hasn't lost her Weather Wand Star... I still remember what happened when she did!" "Do you know what's wrong with the Weather Witch, Majesty?" asked Spike. "She's usually full of fun and laughter. I wonder what's upset her?" "I think, yes, I'm sure I know the reason," replied Majesty with a rueful smile. "Tomorrow the Weather Witch will be flying to the Witch's Spelling Contest!" "But why should that worry her?" asked North Star. "She's very good at making weather spells... sunshine... rain... storm... fogs... sunshine and showers together!" "Sunshine and showers together make rainbow weather," chorused the baby ponies. "I'm glad you remember what I taught you," laughed Majesty looking very pleased. "No, the reason the Weather Witch is cross is because she feels her hat is shabby. She needs a new one, but she just can't find one she likes. It has to be pointed of course..." "Like an upside-down ice-cream cone without anything in it?" asked Baby Half Note. "Like this one on the magic cone bush?" "Well done, Baby Half Note," praised Majesty. "Yes... that's a fine base... but it still needs trimming!" "I've got lots of ribbons," said Baby Ribbon. "Look, I'll wrap them around the hat. It's looking better already." "Here are some fun cherries," said Cherries Jubilee. "They look real but they'll last forever. I'll pin them on... and Sky Rocket can find a few pretty flowers... everlasting of course!" "I've got these blue forget-me-knots dipped in the waters of the Everflowing River," said Sky Rocket. "I'll just pin them to the ribbons." "What a lovely hat," said Sparkler. "I've got the very thing to add the final touch!" She rummaged in her sparkling casket and drew out a tiny golden brooch in the shape of two letters... "I found it in the Weird Wood," she explained. "It belonged to one of the wood elves but they said that I might keep it!" "W W ... Weather Witch! What a lucky find... you were clever, Sparkler!" laughed Wind Whistler. "There, it's finished!" she cried as Sparkler pinned the brooch right in the centre of the pointed hat. "Pony feathers, here comes the Weather Witch now. Let's show her the hat!" "Hide it first... and then we'll surprise her," suggested Majesty. So Spike hid behind the tree with the hat. The Weather Witch flew down on her broomstick and walked over to the little ponies. "I've come to say I'm sorry, Wind Whistler," she said. "It was me who almost flew into you. I just wasn't looking where I was going!" "That's all right, Weather Witch," said Wind Whistler kindly. "Perhaps you were thinking about the hat you were going to wear to the contest?" "What... this shabby old hat?" said the Weather Witch sadly. "No, your new hat that the little ponies have made for you!" roared Spike, stepping out from his hiding place with the hat. "What a lovely hat... is it really for me? All the other witches will be so envious... it is the prettiest hat I've ever seen!" cried the Weather Witch clapping her hands in delight. "Thank you all very much!" "Good luck with your spells tomorrow," called the little ponies, as the Weather Witch flew away wearing her new hat. And it must have been a lucky hat as well as a pretty one... because the Weather Witch produced the best spells of all... and was awarded the prized Golden Witch Wand... and that... but no, that's another story...
If you want to hear more about the Golden Witch Wand, write and let Majesty know!
MAGIC STAR AND THE SNEEZING SPRITE
"Off you go and bring me some cherries from the Fruity Forest," said Majesty to Magic Star and Baby Lucky.
"We are lucky to live near the Fruity Forest. Fruit grows there all year round. Just look at those lovely peaches and pears!" said Baby Lucky. "here come Jack Horner and Tommy Tucker," added Magic Star. "Jack's heading straight for the plum tree."
"Don't you ever get tired of plum pies?" asked Baby Lucky. "I get tired of soup sometimes," retorted Jack.
"And at the moment it's so salty!" added Tommy. "Dame Goody's lost her pepperpot and uses lots of salt instead!"
"Perhaps she's found it now," said Magic Star. "Look in the Shimmering Pool to see!" "Wouldn't it be lucky if she has?" asked Baby Lucky. "Happy hooves, look, it's magic. We can see Dame Goody's shoe house in the pool. But she still looks cross!"
"I can hear Dame Goody coming this way... and here's Junk It with Baby Applejack in the stroller," cried Magic Star.
"I've got all your utensils here, Dame Goody," said Junk It. "I saw Goblin Grock poking them about so I collected them!"
"I still can't find my pepperpot," sighed Dame Goody. "And good soup needs lots of pepper. Where is it?"
"I didn't see a pepperpot," said Junk It scratching his head. "Ladles, pans, pots, dishes, but no pepperpot!"
Suddenly Sweet Cherry, one of the fruit sprites came along the clearing." "Atishoo!" she sneezed. "Oh dear, atishoo!"
"Have you got a cold?" asked Baby Lucky. "Cotton Candy has some cough sweets. I'll get you some, if you like!"
"It's a very strange cold," said the little fruit sprite. "I didn't get it until I moved into my new house over there. Whoever lived there before kept it so dusty that it makes me sneeze. I suppose that is why Goblin Grock moved out and let me have it!"
"So that's what happened," laughed Magic Star. "Goblin Grock stole the pepperpot and tole you it was a house!"
"I feel so silly, living in a pepperpot," sighed Sweet Cherry. "But it was such a lovely little house!" Magic Star smiled.
"Now you can live happily in your pepperpot house," said Magic Star. "Thank you," replied the fruit sprite.
"But I still haven't got a pepperpot," sighed Dame Goody. "Wouldn't it be lucky if we could help?" cried Baby Lucky.
"Perhaps we can," said Magic Star. "Catch the silver pear pepperpot, Jack!" Jack held out his hands...
"I've never owned a silver pepperpot before," said Dame Goody. "Now I can..." "Teach Grock a lesson," said the ponies.
Later... "Lovely hot soup, I'll take it home," said Grock. "But I'll taste it first... oh... my mouth's burning!"
How everyone laughed as Grock ran off. "Serve him right," said Jack. "Now we can all enjoy our plum pie!"

WISHES AND WINGS
The baby ponies were busy tidying Lullaby Nursery. "We're autumn-cleaning not spring-cleaning," laughed Baby Tiddly Winks.
"I hope Baby Heart Throb is tidying the bedroom and not just playing with the newborn twins," said Baby Blossom. "There's a lot of noise coming from up there." Baby Heart Throb was trying to tidy up but Dibbles and Nibbles were trying to fly!
"Nibbles! Don't push Dibbles," warned Baby Heart Throb. "Yes, push!" chuckled Dibbles. "Whoosh, I'm flying."
"Whoosh!" said Nibbles. "Me too." The tiny twin sisters rolled over on the floor and the pile of blankets fell on them.
Laughing loudly, Sniffles and Snookums ran over to join in the fun. "I wish you'd behave," wailed Baby Heart Throb.
Suddenly Baby Heart Throb had an idea. She'd let all the newborn twins play with the blankets while she tidied up.
After a while, Dibbles, Nibbles, Sniffles and Snookums fell asleep on the blankets. "Merry manes, now I can finish tidying up in peace," chuckled Baby Heart Throb. "There's still a lot to do. I wish the others would come up and help me."
"If wishes were wings things would be able to fly," said a voice from under one of the cots. The baby pony stared,
A piece of paper fluttered out. "It's the last page from the September calendar," said Baby Heart Throb.
"That's right," agreed the piece of paper. "You pulled me off the calendar when October started. I can help you."
"How?" asked Baby Heart Throb. "If you wish I can put wings on things," said the paper. "Not on ponies, just on things..."
Baby Heart Throb gasped as three drawers flew around the bedroom. "Wish for the clothes to be put away," said the paper.
Sniffles woke up and laughed loudly as a pinafore flew past him. The breeze from it tickled his nose making him sneeze.
Of course, the other newborn twins woke up too. "I wish the blankets would fly into the cots," said Baby Heart Throb. Dibbles and Nibbles fluttered their tiny wings as the blankets flew over the cots. Soon the bedroom was neat and tidy.
Later, at bathtime, Nurse Gusty couldn't understand why the newborn twins kept throwing the soap around. Baby Heart Throb knew though! "They'll never make it fly," she chuckled. "The wings and wishes paper has gone. But I wonder what the October motto is?"
MAGIC STAR AND THE SKY SHOW
It was a warm autumn day. The West Wind blew gently at the leaves on the trees trying to make them fall. "They're not ready yet," laughed Gusty. "Most of them are still green. They'll be orange and yellow before they fall!" "Those won't," laughed Skydancer pointing to the evergreen firs and pines. "Heavy hooves, what was that... it sounds like thunder!" "It can't be thunder," said Baby Lucky. "The sun is shining and the clouds are white with lovely rosy and silver linings. It never thunders on a day like this!" "It isn't thunder," explained Cherries Jubilee running up. "It's Giant Greatoak crying. Here he comes!" "Please don't cry," begged Skydancer. "You're frightening the animals and the baby ponies. What's wrong? Please tell us, perhaps we can help!" "It's me... I'm much too tall," sobbed the giant. "But all giants are tall," cried Spike the little dragon. "I know... but I'm so tall I can never see a show properly," explained the giant. "Everyone looks like tiny ants. I break chairs when I sit down... and I still can't see properly. I missed the elves' midsummer show and Lemon Drop's spring show and I shall probably not see the Little Pony Christmas show either! I love music and singing and dancing... I can hear the music from the Baby Bonnet School of Dance... but I can't see Baby Half Note dancing. It's not fair!" And poor Giant Greatoak sobbed more than ever... and the whole of Pony Land shook with thunder. "Who's making all that noise?" called the Weather Witch who was passing by on her broomstick. "I shall be getting calls from everyone about this thunder. It isn't down in the Weather Chart Book at all!" "It's Giant Greatoak. He's unhappy!" Spike shouted. "Clouds and showers, then do something about it," demanded the Weather Witch. "I have my reputation as a witch to consider... I might even lose my job!" Everyone thought hard for a long time. Then suddenly Skydancer started to laugh. "Gather round, little ponies," she said. "I've got an idea!" The little ponies gathered around and Skydancer whispered to them. "Do you think it will work?" asked Cherries Jubilee. "I suppose it's worth a try. I'll help you organise it. I'll get the flying ponies to help!" "Cheer up, Giant Greatoak. We're going to put on your own special show... in the sky!" said Skydancer. "All you need to do is look straight ahead. Are you ready?" The giant nodded eagerly... and the show began. First came Medley, waving her tail and gently tapping a cloud to make a happy tune. Next came Firefly, turning a double treble treble treble loop! It was something never seen before! Magic Star twirled her magic star and North Star appeared on a cloud, with lots of brightly coloured paper flowers... and a row of paper giants made by Confetti and looking exactly like Giant Greatoak! North Star threw them down to the giant who caught them happily. "Here are some balloons," called Surprise who stood on a neighbouring cloud, trying to dodge out of the way of Masquerade the clown who was trying to drench her with a watering can of bright golden liquid. Magic Star who had made all these things happen, twirled the star on her rump and the liquid turned into a display of golden fireworks shooting everywhere in a golden haze. "Oh, my show is the best I have ever seen...and I didn't need my spectacles," laughed the giant. He clapped and clapped... and the noise could be heard all over Pony Land. It sounded like thunder... happy, happy thunder! But it didn't frighten anyone at all!
COTTON CANDY AND THE CORN DOLLY PART 2
Goldie the corn dolly has run away. The little ponies are anxious to find her... before something happens...
Suddenly Spike ran up. "Majesty had just seen Goldie in her magic mirror. She's still in the Weird Wood!"
"We must find her before the trolls get her. Will you come with me, Rob?"
As they entered the wood Cotton Candy and Rob felt frightened. It was so dark and gloomy. "I wonder where Goldie is?" asked the little pony. "I'll ring for Batti Bat. He may have seen her," said Rob. "But I must not wake the trolls!"
"Have you seen Goldie?" Rob asked Batti. "Yes... she's in great danger. She's walking towards the Flame trees!"
Rob and Cotton Candy looked at each other. "But their leaves are scorching hot... and Goldie is made of STRAW!"
"We must creep by the trolls and run to the Flame trees," cried Rob. "That naughty Chiff sent her that way on purpose, I'm sure!" "Heavy hooves, there are trolls everywhere!" groaned Cotton Candy. "The trees are trying to catch us, too!"
"Crunchy carrots, I've hurt my foot," called Rob. "I've cut it on a thorn bush!" "I'll bandage it," said Cotton Candy.
"Thank you, Cotton Candy. My paw feels much better. Let's get on... we must find poor Goldie," said Rob.
But, as she started to run, Cotton Candy stepped on a twig... and the sound woke up the troll...
"What are you doing in the Weird Wood?" demanded the troll. "You've come to steal our gold!" "Run!" cried Rob.
"Look, Goldie has almost reached the Flame trees... and there is that bad chaff imp beckoning her to touch the leaves," cried Cotton Candy in fright. "Goldie, stop, you'll get burned. Heavy hooves, now the trolls are coming!"
"Come closer, Goldie. It's cold in the wood. The leaves will warm you," called Chiff the chaff imp.
Goldie hesitated and stopped... and suddenly she and Rob and Cotton Candy were surrounded by the trolls!
What will the trolls do? Find out in the next issue of MY LITTLE PONY.
FIREBALL AND THE BLACKBERRY BANDITS
"It's about time we gave a Mountain Party," said Thundercloud, one bright October day.
"There are lots of ripe blackberries in the meadows near Dream Castle," said Fireball. "We can have a blackberry tea."
"I'll make iced blackberries if we can pick enough," offered Ice Crystal. "We can borrow some baskets from..."
"From Majesty," said Fireball, hurrying away. "I'll go to Dream Castle and fetch some baskets, I'll meet you in the meadow near the Waterfall." "Fireball's always in a hurry," laughed Lightning suddenly appearing next to Ice Crystal.
"I've come to invite you to a Mountain Party," Fireball told Majesty. "It's this afternoon. There'll be a blackberry tea."
"Thank you," said Majesty. "It's a good job you let me know so early. It takes a long time to get to Misty Mountain."
"We met him at the gates," explained Baby Lucky, "and he told us about the party." "And the blackberry tea," added Spike.
"It doesn't take Fireball long to get anywhere!" roared Spike. "Here are the baskets you asked for, Fireball."
"It takes hours for the little ponies and baby ponies to get to Misty Mountain," sighed Baby Lucky. "Majesty's gone to get her magic cloak, she'll help us get there quickly," said Spike. Meanwhile, Fireball was staring in dismay at a crowd of goblins.
"Well, Mountain Boy," sneered one of the goblins, "what do you want?" "You can't want blackberries," said another goblin.
"There are plenty for everyone," said Fireball. "We're blackberry bandits, the berries are ours!" shrieked the goblins.
The two bandit leaders gave a signal and suddenly Fireball found himself struggling inside a net of knotted scarves. "You can stay like that until we've picked all the blackberries," gloated the goblins. Then they started picking blackberries again.
"You're very slow," mocked Fireball from inside the net. "I could pick the berries much quicker than all of you."
"Is that a challenge?" asked one of the leaders, raising his eye patch. "Untie him at once, gang!"
"If I pick more than you, I keep the blackberries I've picked," said Fireball. "I'll have two baskets, you take one."
Fireball filled his two baskets before the goblin bandits had even half-filled their one basket. "I win!" said Fireball.
"Run, gang," ordered the leaders. "Take all the baskets with you." Fireball watched the bandits running towards the Waterfall.
Ice Crystal was by the Waterfall. Fireball chuckled as he caught up with the goblins. The pool was covered in ice.
"I saw what was happening and made a huge slide," laughed Ice Crystal. The goblin bandits yelled as Lightning appeared from nowhere! Fireball soon gathered up the spilt blackberries and the three Mountain Boys hurried away to prepare the party tea!
My Little Pony Club Page FIREBALL'S SPOT
Hello, Majesty and the little ponies really enjoyed our Mountain Party. When Majesty wears her magic cloak, the little ponies can move nearly as quickly as I can. We did have fun making the iced blackberries, Ice Crystal is very good at things like that. If you'd like to make some you must ask a grown up before you pick the blackberries. They will show you which berries to pick. Remember SOME berries are poisonous and could make you very ill. When you've picked your blackberries wash them carefully. Then put them in small dishes and sprinkle some sugar on them. Put the dishes in an ice-box for about half an hour. When you take the dishes out, the blackberries and sugar will taste very icy. We put ice-cream on ours, but they are just as nice on their own. If you have a favourite blackberry recipe, do write and tell me about it. Baby lucky could show some of your recipes on the club pages in My Little Pony and Friends!
IN OUR NEXT ISSUE ON SALE FROM OCTOBER 22nd... The little ponies meet the swallow who stayed behind. Baby Lucky goes to an Autumn Jamboree. Cotton Candy continues her adventure with the corn dolly. All this and lots more Pony fun!

AUTUMN JAMBOREE
"What is an Autumn Jamboree?" Baby Lucky asked Magic Star. "I've never been to one before." But before Magic Star could reply...
Fizzy banged into them and knocked them into the Conker Pyramid. "Heavy hooves! What a fandangle!" uttered Fizzy in dismay, as the conkers zoomed out all over the place. "Ouch! That hurt!" cried Locket, as a conker hit her on the end of her nose.
"Oh, Fizzy, you've ruined our game," said Baby Tiddly Winks. "How can anyone count conkers when they're all over the place?"
"Is this a jamboree? I like it," shouted Baby Lucky, lowering his head to run back into the remaining conkers.
"Now the rest of the conkers are smashed," said Tootsie. "It's all your fault, filly Sizzy!" "Lollipops," laughed Baby Lucky.
"You're silly, too," Tootsie told him crossly. "I think you and Fizzy should go and collect some more conkers."
When Fizzy and Baby Lucky had gone, Baby Tiddly Winks and Tootsie tried to find some of the conkers that hadn't been smashed. "It was such a good pyramid," sighed Locket. "It will be good again," promised Magic Star. "Watch!" She waved her magic wand and...
The conker pyramid was in place again. "Poor Fizzy and Baby Lucky are collecting conkers for nothing," giggled Tootsie.
But Fizzy and Baby Lucky couldn't find any conkers. "We didn't take them all," said Fizzy. "I wonder where they've gone?"
"So do I," agreed the baby pony. "Happy-go-Lucky, we've been looking for ages. I do wish we could find some." The next minute the two ponies found themselves in a tunnel. "How did you get here? Have you come to buy some toys?" asked a puzzled goblin.
"We were looking for conkers," explained Fizzy. "But I'm not sure how we got here." "Conkers!" smiled the goblin. "Follow me."
"No fandangles, Fizzy," the little pony warned herself as she looked around the dozens of tables in the new room.
"I'm the woodland toymaker," said the goblin. "I collected all the spare conkers to make these hoops."
"Look at this fir-cone bird!" said Baby Lucky. "I wish you could bring all your toys to our Autumn Grotto," said Fizzy.
"I can," said the goblin putting toys into a sack. "Let's go." "You and Fizzy were clever finding the toymaker," said Tootsie. "I don't know how we found him and I still don't know what a Jamboree is." "Oh, Baby Lucky," laughed his friends. "This is it!"

THE SWALLOW WHO STAYED BEHIND
The little ponies were watching some of their friends getting ready for winter. Baby Cuddles laughed happily.
"There go the swallows! Goodbye, see you next summer!" called Peachy. "They are clever to fly such a long way to get to warmer climes. Even Firefly can't fly so far!" "No, but she can turn better double treble loops than Swift!" said Posey.
"But where is Swift?" asked Brandy. "He's usually leading the swallows. He's the best flyer of all!"
"He says he doesn't need to leave yet. He can soon catch them up," Peachy explained. "He's playing in the buggy."
"Swift, you're getting too proud and pride comes before a fall," said Majesty. "Fly away, now!"
"Fly higher, Swift... you'll hit the trees," called Firefly. "Heavy hooves, hang on! Look what's happened!"
"I've hurt my wing... I can't fly down!" cried poor Swift. "Oh, why didn't I go with the others?"
"I'll try and free your wing and then try and flutter down to the buggy," cried Firefly. "Fly slowly!"
"Now I can't fly away," wept the swallow. "And my wing hurts. What a silly swallow I am!" "Cheer up, Swift, here comes Nurse Gusty. She will soon mend your wing with ointment and splints," said Peachy. "And you can stay at the Show Stable!"
Nurse Gusty put soothing herbs on the wing and bandaged it with a twig splint. "Thank you," said the swallow.
Majesty helped Baby Cuddles out of the buggy and everyone lifted Swift into it very gently.
Baby Cuddles pushed Swift to the Show Stable and Lemon Drop found the swallow a warm corner to lie down!
Nurse Gusty went every day to make sure the wing was mending. "You are kind!" said Swift, to the little pony.
At last Swift's wing was mended, though now it was too late to fly south... but he had an idea!
Majesty quickly agreed... and Swift stayed on... and earned his keep by becoming the Little Pony Postman!
THE DANCE OF THE DRAGONS
Very early one morning, Spike the little dragon was woken up by a buzzing noise. He sat up, rubbed his eyes then looked around the room. Iris and Pandora, the two honey bees from the Baby Bonnet School of Dance buzzed gently around his head. "Dreamy dragons," whispered Spike. "I've overslept. I was supposed to meet you in the meadows, wasn't I?" "You were," buzzed Iris. "The swans and Hop and Jump are waiting there. Do get up, Spike, Baby Half Note will be awake soon and we don't want her to see us, it would spoil everything." "All right, I'm coming," whispered Spike, taking a torch from under his pillow. "We'll go down in the lift, I oiled it last night so it won't make a noise." Before long, Spike and the honey bees had joined the swans and the rabbits in the meadows. "I wish it was a bit lighter," said Spike. "My torch isn't very bright." "We've brought torches, too," said Hop and Jump. "And we've borrowed Baby Half Note's music box. We can have real music this morning." "Have you finished making our dragon costumes?" Spike asked the two little rabbits. "Just about," giggled Hop. "The swans' costumes were the hardest to make, we had to use lots of lace and sequins for theirs." "Because they've got long necks," explained Jump. "Do stop chattering, you three," said Iris to Spike and the rabbits. "We must start the rehearsal, we won't have time to practise our dragon dance if you talk all the time. And you mustn't oversleep tomorrow morning," she added to Spike. "We're giving the show on Friday night you know." "I'll try not to," said Spike, as Lucinda the lilac swan opened the music box. "I was up late showing the Princess Ponies' dragons the new steps." "Well, show us the steps now and we'll make sure you're doing them properly," said Yolande the yellow swan. "Come on, Spike, start on the very tips of your toes." As Spike stumbled clumsily around the meadows, the rabbits, the swans, and the honey bees tried hard not to laugh. "Keep in time with the music, Spike," called Hop. "Bend your left leg," ordered Jump. "Look, like this." Jump danced daintily over to Spike. "Keep your body straight," buzzed Pandora, "and form an arch with your arms." "Spike, watch the swans and copy their steps," said Iris. "I can't do everything at once!" roared Spike. "My tail keeps getting in the way and my toes ache. I wish I'd never thought of putting on a show to surprise Baby Half Note." "So do I," sighed Lucinda. "Baby Half Note taught us to dance, I'm sure she could teach you. I don't think we can." "And I don't think I'm very good at teaching the other dragons," admitted Spike. "How can I show them the proper steps when I can't do them myself? And I can't bring them down here to rehearsals in case the Princess Ponies wake up and find them missing." "We mustn't give up," buzzed the honey bees. "It was such a good idea to give the dance of the dragons as a surprise show for Baby Half Note. Let's try one more time." "I still think it would be easier if we went inside the Baby Bonnet School," said Spike. "I could hold onto the dancing barre then and watch myself in the mirror." Spike's right," said Hop. "It would be better in the school. Let's go over there and just hope that Baby Half Note doesn't arrive. Iris and Pandora can keep watch. They don't need to practise, they know their movements." From behind a large oak tree, Baby Half Note smiled happily. She had been watching the rehearsals every morning. Of course, she hadn't told anyone that she knew all about the dance of the dragons. She knew it was supposed to be a surprise for her. Now they'd decided to practise inside the Baby Bonnet School, she'd be able to help them without them knowing it. Once they were inside the school, Spike managed to dance perfectly. "You know, he's really good," said the swans in surprise. "He'll easily be able to show the other dragons the steps now and it won't matter if they don't get them quite right, their part of the dance is supposed to be funny." "We'd better end the rehearsal now," said Hop after a while. "It's daylight and Baby Half Note will be here soon. But tomorrow morning we'll have a dress rehearsal. We'll meet here, in the school, really early." Baby Half Note heard Hop's words from where she was hiding outside. She trotted away to the Nursery. She was never going to tell anyone that she'd helped Spike to dance. That was her secret, and the secret of the Baby Bonnet School of Dance. And she knew that on Friday night the dance of the dragons would be one of the best shows Pony Land had ever seen!
COTTON CANDY AND THE CORN DOLLY FINAL PART
Cotton Candy and Rob have found Goldie the corn dolly in the Weird Wood... the home of the weird trolls.
Suddenly Til the Chief troll walked up slowly. He was old and bent with years of working in the mines.
"Cotton Candy," cried Til. "I am glad to see you in my wood. I need some help and advice. Trolls, free them!"
"I know what you all need," said Cotton Candy. "This salve will help to take away your aches and pains!"
"But we have another problem. My trolls need to know when it's their turn to start work." "I can help you there," said Rob.
"Take my bell and make Chiff your Troll Bellringer. It will teach him what it is like to live deep in the earth!"
"That is a good idea!" agreed Til. "Take him to the gold mines... and we will see you safely home!"
"But before you go, I must repay you for all your kindness," Til said to Cotton Candy. "I see that you all fear the Flame trees... very well! Leaves of flame to petals turn... no longer your leaves anyone burn!"
"Take some flowers home with you," said Til. "They taste delicious... like sugar candy rock. You will always be welcome in Weird Wood. I know that you will never steal my gold," Til added, as Cotton Candy, Rob and Goldie hurried away.
"Thank you for showing me how foolish I was to believe Chiff," said Goldie. "But now you have no bell!"
Rob laughed and went indoors. A moment later he appeared with a new bell. "Goldie's safe! Let the supper begin!"
What a feast everyone had! They sang and danced and played games, and Goldie sat at the head of the table as guest of honour. All too soon it was time to go bed...
The fieldmice led the way to the loft where Goldie was to live snug and warm all winter long.
Deep in the troll gold mines Chiff was just starting work as the Bellringer... It served him right! Don't you agree?

BABY HALF NOTE'S CORNER
Scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. I love the noise autumn leaves make when you dance in them. Can you see the corn dolly by the dance barres? It's very strange, but as soon as anyone comes into the Baby Bonnet School, I can teach them all sorts of dance steps! I always dance best when I'm inside the school, too.
If you ask a grown up to help, you could make a corn dolly. You need a corn on the cob, round-headed scissors, two rubber bands, cotton, some paste and some felt tips. Pull the husks (leaves) back from the cob (fig. 1). Carefully remove the strands of corn silk, straighten them and tie a length of cotton around the middle of the strands (fig. 2). Ask a grown up to scrape the kernels off the cob. Replace the husks around the cob and hold in place with a rubber band (fig. 3). Fold the husks above the rubber band down around the cob and put another rubber band near the folded tops of the husks (fig.4). Put the cob and the tied corn silk in the airing cupboard to dry, leave them about ten days. Then, glue the corn silk onto the head of the cob to make the corn dolly's hair. Use your felt tips to give her a face and decorate her dress. You could tie a ribbon around her neck to cover the elastic band (fig. 5).

Hello, I know our club members like making things so I thought you'd like to make some Ride-Abouts like the ones Spike and I met a few weeks ago. Ask a grown up to help you with the cutting out. First, draw a circle about 5cm diameter, on a piece of stiff card. Cut the circle out and use it as a pattern for the rest of your circles. These will be the wheels and you'll need two wheels for each Ride-About. Colour the wheels in nice bright colours, both sides. Now trace the drawing of the Ride-About, make one Ride-About for each set of wheels. Colour your Ride-Abouts in both sides. Now make a little weight, out of plasticine, for each Ride-About and press it on as shown in the diagram. Make a tiny hole in each set of wheels and a slightly larger hole through the Ride-Abouts. Put a used matchstick through the hole in the Ride-About and put a wheel on each end of the matchstick. Glue the wheels into place - the Ride-About should move freely but the wheels should be fixed. Make a small slope by propping a tray on a book and you can have races with your Ride-Abouts!
Cut 2 wheels, 5cm diameter, for each Ride-About. Smaller hole for end of matchstick.
Put a plasticine weight here, bending it so that it goes up the other side of the Ride-About. Make a hole for the used matchstick to pass through.

FIZZY'S FIZZWHIZZ PARTY
Sky Rocket and the other twinkle-eyed ponies were helping Fizzy to get ready for a very special party... the yearly Fizzwhizz Celebration...
"A bright Fizzwhizz party is just what everyone needs," laughed Sky Rocket. "And there's no mist today either!"
"Majesty twirled away the mist," said Spike. "Honeycomb has sent this toffee. Gingerbread has made some cakes!"
"What's in the box?" asked Sky Rocket curiously. "My special fizzwhizzes," said Fizzy. "I just say a magic word and... oh, but it is my real special surprise! You will have to wait until a little later on when everyone's here!"
Spike and Sky Rocket made a patterned hopscotch with pebbles for the baby ponies to play.
They had a game to try it out. "I've never played hopscotch before," said Sky Rocket... but she won easily!
Soon the guests arrived and the party began. "This is fun!" cried Turnip Top as they played Ring-a-ring-a-pony!
Spike made sure everyone had lots to eat and drink. "You are a good little dragon," said Fizzy.
As it grew darker Fizzy decided that it was time to open her box. But she has lost the key! Heavy hooves! What now?
"A key, a key, look there I see," called Locket. There on the grass was the missing key. Clever Locket!
"Now for our Fizzwhizz display!" cried Fizzy. But, as she turned the key... "Hello, we've just come through the secret tunnel," called the baby sea ponies. Ripple startled Sky Rocket and she fell back into the Waterfall... with the open box.
"I am sorry, Fizzy," said Sky Rocket. "I'm afraid no magic words will make them fizzwhizz now! They're soaking!"
"Majesty, how can we celebrate with damp fizzwhizz?" asked Fizzy sadly. "Can you do anything to help?"
Majesty twirled her horn and called, "Fizzwhizz fairies, our guests be. Your dancing skills let us see!"
Down from the sky came a troupe of little fairies, with shimmering wings and whizzing wands!
As Fizzy and the ponies watched, the Fizzwhizz fairies gave a dazzling display. They twisted and twirled like golden spinning wheels, they shot up in a line like a rocket, and waved their wands to make myriads of fizzwhizz stars. It was a real fizzwhizz celebration!
COTTON CANDY AND THE BAD BLACK BAT
Cotton Candy was on her way to see a little fairy who needed some of her cough sweets for a sore throat.
"Important news, important news," called Rob ringing his bell. "Some... oh, rotten carrots, I've caught my paw!"
"Don't worry, I'll soon get the thorn out. This ointment will make it better. I'll bandage it up," said Cotton Candy.
"Thank you, Cotton Candy. I can still ring my bell with my other paw. I must tell everyone the bad news."
"What's wrong?" asked Cotton Candy. "The Bad Black Bat has stolen a piece of the night sky," said Rob.
"Heavy hooves, what a bad bat he is!" said Cotton Candy. "The poor sky sprites will fall down into the cavern!"
"Quick, sky sprite, slide down the moonbeam," called Cotton Candy. "We will protect you!"
"Why hasn't the Man in the Moon sown up the hole? He knows how dangerous it is," said Cotton Candy. The sprite sighed.
"The Black Bat got the Sky Sorcerer to put a spell on the moon. The door won't open. Your keys can't help us, Locket!"
"I wish Majesty was here. She would know what to do, but she has gone to see Dame Nature," said Rob.
"We must sew up the hole," cried Cotton Candy. "All we need is some soft black velvet... Oh, but I haven't got any!"
"Stars and moons, look, the bad bat is trying to attack us!" cried the sprite. "He's coming straight at us!"
"I can carry you back to the hole," jeered the black bat. "You're only tiny... oh, I've hurt my wing!"
"Serve you right, you bad bat," said Cotton Candy. "You don't deserve me to help you... but I will!"
"You are kind. I'd give you the piece of the sky I stole... but the Sky Sorcerer has taken it for a new cloak!" sighed Black.
"Where can we get a sky patch?" asked Cotton Candy. "I know what about a dark purple velvet... pansy?"
"I'll patch the sky," promised the bat. "And I'll free the Man in the Moon to show how sorry I am!" And he did!
STORYTIME AT DREAM CASTLE PART 1
"Gusty, baby ponies, everybody!" shouted Baby Lucky, banging on the door of Lullaby Nursery. "Let me in, I've got some exciting news." "Baby Lucky, you've woken the newborn twins," scolded Gusty, as she let the baby boy pony into the nursery. "I'm sorry, Nurse Gusty," said Baby Lucky, "but you'd have to have woken them yourself anyway. We've got lots of visitors at Dream Castle and Majesty's invited you all to come over for a special storytime. She says it will probably turn very foggy tonight, so if you bring your night clothes you can all sleep at Dream Castle." "Oh, merry manes, that will be fun," chuckled Baby Shady. "Who are the visitors, Baby Lucky? No, don't tell me, I'll see if I can see them through my magic glasses." Baby Glory moved closer to her friend, she wanted to look through the glasses as well. "They're working!" said Baby Glory excitedly. "I can see our Storyteller friend. You remember him don't you, Baby Shady? He was trapped inside his storybook and we rescued him. He's got purple hair, one orange eye and one silver eye. And his cloak has got sunglasses on." "I remember him," laughed Baby Lickety-Split. "I was with you that day. It will be nice to see him again. He tells really good stories out of an enormous red book. Come on, let's get our night clothes packed and hurry over to Dream Castle. I'll help Nurse Gusty with the twins' bottles and toys, if you pack my things, Baby Shady." "I want to see if I can guess who else is there," said Baby Shady. "That's strange, all I can see now is a very big shadow." "That's..." began Baby Lucky. Then he shook his mane. "No, I won't tell you. You'll have to wait and see. But it's a very big surprise. Just wait until you four see it," he added as he went over to nuzzle the newborn twins. "Hey, stop trying to push Snookums out of your stroller, Sniffles." "He's always doing that," said Baby Lickety-Split, as she gave the tiny unicorn his teddy bear. "Now, you hold this, Sniffles, and you carry your teddy, Snookums. Dibbles and Nibbles have already got theirs. And I've packed their feeding bottles, I think we're nearly ready to go." "We'll take our pull-alongs," decided Baby Glory. "Dibbles and Nibbles can have a ride in them and we can use the others for our cases." As they reached Dream Castle, Sundance trotted out to meet them. "Jack Frost and Jimmy Ice are here," she called. "They're going to make picture stories on the windows. And Brandy's special friend, the enormous snow dog's here, too," she chuckled. "That must have been the very big shadow I saw through my magic glasses," said Baby Shady. "Oh, no, there's somebody much, much bigger than the snow dog," said Sundance. "The..." "Sundance! You mustn't tell them!" snorted Baby Lucky. "It's going to be a very big surprise..."
Who is the surprise visitor? Find out in your next issue of My Little Pony.
PRINCESS SAPPHIRE'S SKELTER-HELTER
"Come on, Baby Moondancer," encouraged Moonstone. "Jump in, my magic moonstone has warmed the water and you can swim now."
"I can," agreed Baby Moondancer. "Princess Sapphire helped me this afternoon and I swam all the way round the pool." "Well jump in now then," said Moonstone again. "I'm looking at the moon," chuckled the baby pony. "It's my favourite shape tonight."
"I like the moon when it's crescent shape, too," said Princess Sapphire to Smokey, her dragon attendant.
"If you're not coming in, I'm coming out," called Moonstone. In a twinkling she was standing by Princess Sapphire.
"Moonstone!" said Smokey. "You've splashed Princess Sapphire. I'll go and fetch a towel," he added, and hurried away.
"I'm sorry, Princess Sapphire. You're not very wet are you?" asked Moonstone. The Princess pony shook her mane...
"Oh, look!" gasped Smokey, as he hurried up with a towel. "Two sparkly strands from Princess Sapphire's mane and the moon is shaped like a crescent. I think something exciting is about to happen." Baby Moondancer felt the diving board move.
"Maybe I'm going to find my own special rainbow," said Moonstone excitedly. "Moonstone! Look!" called Baby Moondancer.
"My rainbow," sighed Moonstone. "It's a skelter-helter, Smokey," Princess Sapphire told him. "Have a ride."
As soon as Princess Sapphire had spoken, Smokey found himself sitting on a cushion riding up the skelter-helter. Baby Moondancer called excitedly from the top. "That's why it's called a skelter-helter, you go up it backwards."
"You can go down it as well," said Princess Sapphire. "Get on the cushion with Smokey, Baby Moondancer."
"We're going to land with a big splash!" chuckled the baby pony. "What a good job you learned to swim, Smokey."
"Look, the baby sea ponies are here," shouted Baby Moondancer, as they landed in the pool. "Hello, Ripple, have you come to spend a holiday at Paradise Estate, too?" "No, we're just having a swimming race around Pony Land," laughed Ripple.
"Have a ride on the skelter-helter," said Smokey. "Princess Sapphire's magic and the crescent moon made it," he added.
"The moon's going behind a cloud," warned the Princess pony. "The skelter-helter will disappear soon." And it did!
"My rainbow's gone," sighed Moonstone. "The cushion is a towel again," said Smokey, "but it's wet, I'll get a dry one."
Princess Sapphire stood next to Moonstone and they watched Baby Moondancer dive into the pool.
"Just look at your reflection, Moonstone," the Princess pony told her. "You don't need to find a rainbow, you've got one."
"I have, haven't I?" smiled Moonstone. "I'm having a lovely holiday, Princess Sapphire." Smokey and Baby Moondancer agreed.

GUSTY'S GOLDEN LEAF
One morning Sky Rocket was helping Gusty sweep up the falling leaves.
"Pony feathers, just look at all these leaves!" said Sky Rocket. "It is hard work! Let's just have a rest for a minute!"
"Hey... look at that leaf... it's shining like gold!" cried Gusty. "Happy hooves... it really is gold!"
"You can have this for your collection," said Gusty. "It's pretty," agreed Sky Rocket. "It's a magic leaf," hooted the owl. "It take the finder to the Land of the Golden Mountain... just wish and away you will go!" "How exciting!" said Gusty.
"I wish to go to the Land of the Golden Mountain," called Gusty. "And please let Sky Rocket come too!"
"Away you go... you're in for a few surprises!" called the Wise Owl. "You'll see your leaves again soon!"
"Pony feathers, I don't like the sound of that... more leaves to sweep up," sighed Sky Rocket. Gusty laughed.
"We must be near the Golden Mountain," said Gusty. "Look the clouds are golden... and they taste of barley sugar!"
"There's the Golden Mountain now," cried Sky Rocket. "And you're right... this cloud tastes delicious! Oh, we're floating down, Gusty, right on top of the Golden Mountain! What will happen now?" she added, looking frightened.
"Here she is at last," said a little elf. "Welcome, Gusty. We've been waiting to meet you for so long!" "But why?" asked Gusty.
"Because each year you collect leaves for us," said the elf. "The wind brings your leaves to replenish our mountain!"
"Our Golden Mountain must never grow less!" said the elf. "And see how our leaves are used."
"Come and see what happens to your leaves," said the autumn elf. "They thatch our houses to keep out the rain!"
"We weave them into carpets and rugs!" "What a pretty pattern!" said Gusty. "I make a new one each year!" said the elf.
"They repair our roads so that we can all walk safely in the winer, we need lots of leaves for that," the elf continued.
"We save the prettiest leaves for Mistress Russet. She makes our clothes! She's made you an autumn bonnet, Gusty!"
"I'll never complain about sweeping up the leaves again," promised Gusty. "I'll use the lead to bring me back next year!"
STORYTIME AT DREAM CASTLE
The story so Far...
There were a lot of visitors at Dream Castle so Majesty sent Baby Lucky over to Lullaby Nursery to fetch the baby ponies for a special storytime. "Bring your night clothes," Baby Lucky told them. "It will probably be foggy tonight, so you'll have to stay at Dream Castle." The baby ponies tried to guess who the visitors were. Baby Shady saw the Storyteller, through her magic glasses, and Sundance met them outside Dream Castle and told them the enormous snow dog, Jack Frost and Jimmy Ice were inside. But Baby Lucky wouldn't let Sundance tell about the biggest surprise of all.
The Story Continues...
"Bring the newborn twins in last," begged Sundance, "then we can all watch their faces when they see our big surprise. Whoops, sorry, Nurse Gusty, I didn't mean to knock your nurse's cap off." "Never mind, Sundance," laughed Gusty. "I can see how excited you are. Go to the front and lead the way into the throne room." So Sundance trotted clumsily into the throne room, the others following. "It's Drusilla!" shouted the baby ponies in delight. "Drusilla, the Christmas Giant's wife." Drusilla was almost as big as the Christmas Giant; even when she was sitting down she took up half the throne room. But even though she was so big, she had such a jolly face that even the newborn twins, who'd never seen such a huge person, didn't feel at all frightened. "Greet your other guests, then come and sit on my knees," laughed Drusilla. "Hello, everybody," said Baby Lickety-Split, then she ran over to Drusilla. She clambered onto the giantess's shoulder and stood on the very tips of her hooves to whisper: "I don't want the enormous snow dog to start licking me, he thinks I'm very pretty but he knocks me over." After a while everybody settled down. All four newborn twins sat in one of Drusilla's hands! Jack Frost and Jimmy Ice told the first story. As they told it, they made icy pictures on the throne room windows. Then, at a secret signal from Majesty, Powder and Snowflake made gentle snowflakes swirl around Jack and Jimmy. How everyone cheered! Next, the Storyteller with his bright purple hair and oddly coloured eyes, opened his big red book and told a story about an invisible dragon. Of course, Spike and the Princess ponies' little dragons laughed the loudest of all. Just before tea, Sundance was delighted when Wind Whistler arrived with Megan. "I've come to hear Drusilla's story," laughed Megan. "Wind Whistler told me that it would be a very special one." "It is," agreed Drusilla. "Do excuse me, if I don't stand up to tell it," she added with a laugh, pointing to the baby ponies who were sitting all over her long legs. The newborn twins snuggled deeply into Drusilla's hand, they didn't want to move either. "My story is a true one," Drusilla told them. "It is all about the new magic mountain that my husband, the Christmas Giant, is building for the Land of Christmas." "He gave the old magic mountain to the Flutter ponies, last year," interrupted Baby Lucky. "So this year he will carry the new one on his shoulders... all the way to the Pixies' Christmas Market." "Shh! Baby Lucky," said all his friends. "Let Drusilla get on with the story." "As most of you know," continued Drusilla, "the magic mountain is an important part of the Land of Christmas. There's always something special for you to see inside the mountain. This year, you'll see the wedding of my daughter." "A Christmas wedding," sighed Princess Aquamarine, happily. "How romantic." "I've been making the wedding dress for weeks and weeks," smiled Drusilla, "and the Christmas Giant is still carving a stage out of ice from the Ice King's Kingdom. We have both seen hundreds and hundreds of pixie dancers, and although they were all very pretty and danced beautifully, we couldn't find one special enough to dance for our daughter." Baby Half Note gasped. Was Drusilla going to ask her to dance inside the magic mountain for the Christmas wedding? "Yes, you've guessed it, Baby Half Note," said Drusilla. "We'd like you to dance for our daughter. The only thing is," she added, "I'd like to dance, too. It's five weeks until Christmas, do you think you could teach me in time? You'd have to come to the Land of Christmas, I'm sure I'm much too big for the Baby Bonnet School of Dance." Baby Half Note felt worried. She knew that there as magic that helped her, and others, when they were dancing in the Baby Bonnet School. Then the looked at Majesty and knew everything would be all right. "I'd love to come to the Land of Christmas," she replied. "When do we leave?" "First thing in the morning," Drusilla told her. But in the morning the little ponies were going to get a terrible shock!

LIGHTNING SORTS IT OUT
"Hello, Confetti. Where are you going? Can I come with you?" "Lightning! You made me jump, appearing like that."
"Sorry, I'll disappear again," said the Mountain Boy Pony. But the next second he was looking at Baby Cuddles.
Baby Cuddles chuckled with delight. She loved the big pony. "Going to Paper Place," she told him. "You come with us."
"I'm taking lots of pretty paper to my friends the Paper Pixies," explained Confetti. "They make all the decorations for the Pixie Land winter parties. So they need lots of paper. I take them some every year." "I've never met the Paper Pixies," said Lightning.
Confetti looked a bit worried as Lightning strode along beside her. "Don't you want me to come?" asked Lightning looking sad.
"It's just that you're bigger than me," she said. "You might frighten the Paper Pixies." Lightning looked at his hooves.
"I'll walk very quietly," he promised. "Confetti make slippers," laughed Baby Cuddles. "Quiet slippers."
"That's a good idea," said Confetti. "I made Baby Cuddles some when she kept stamping her hooves," she added.
"Just look at the Pixies!" exclaimed Confetti, as they arrived at Paper Place. "They're all carrying a large paper building. It looks like the Palace. I wonder..." "Put it down here," somebody said in a very loud voice. "Yes, your majesty," said the pixies.
The Paper Queen marched into the Palace and the pixies ran up to the ponies. "We've been moving it around for days!" they said.
"There hasn't been time for us to start making the decorations," sighed Scribe. "The queen can't decide where to live."
"Move my Palace," ordered the queen. "This isn't the right place for it." "I'll sort it out," offered Lightning. "Just watch me!" He moved slowly over to the Paper Queen and bowed. "Where would you like your Palace? Here, here or here?"
Every time he spoke, Lightning appeared in a different place with the Palace. "Leave it there," said the queen. "I can't think!"
"Now we can start the decorations," said the delighted pixies. "Three cheers for Lightning." Even the Paper Queen cheered!
Cuddles likes her Baby Buggy so much she never wants to get out.
There is no smarter baby carriage in Ponyland. Inside, Cuddles has plenty of room for her nappy, bottle, teddy-bear brush and rattle. There's a pretty pink blanket and pillow to keep her comfortable. And when she closes her eyes to go to sleep, the frilly parasol and bonnet keep her head safely out of the sun. Finally, pony owners please note, the handle is fully adjustable, so any pony can take Cuddles for a walk. The Baby Pony Carriage, complete with Cuddles who has closing lullaby eyes, costs £11.99 or less.
TIC TAC TOE AND THE BIG BLACK BOX
"I'm going to Larkspur Wood to find some leaves," said Baby Tiddly Winks. "Does anyone want to come with me?"
"It's too cold outside," shivered Baby Bow Tie. "Anyway, Baby Ribbon and I are going to play Ribbon Races. It's a new game we've made up. Why don't you stay in and play it with us?" "I need some leaves for my new game," explained Baby Tiddly Winks.
As Baby Tiddly Winks trotted through the meadow, towards Larkspur Wood, she met Tic Tac Toe.
"I'm going to collect some leaves to make some snap cards," said the baby pony. "I'll come with you," decided Tic Tac Toe.
"How are you going to make snap cards?" asked Tic Tac Toe, as she helped Baby Tiddly Winks look for leaves. "I'm going to press the leaves, then paste them onto cards, some cards will have one leaf on, some two and..." "Baby Tiddly Winks!" interrupted Tic Tac Toe. "Look..."
"It looks like a big black box," said Baby Tiddly Winks. "Somebody must have buried it under the leaves."
"Shall we open it?" asked Tic Tac Toe. Baby Tiddly Winks nodded excitedly. And when Tic Tac Toe lifted the lid...
"It's got your name on the inside of the lid!" shouted Baby Tiddly Winks. "Look, it says Tic Tac Toe!"
"Did you call me?" asked a voice from behind the ponies. Baby Tiddly Winks gasped as a very old goblin came nearer.
"My name's Tic Tac Toe," said the goblin. "That's my friend's name, too," Baby Tiddly Winks told him.
"I see you've found my big black box," sighed the goblin. "It's got my name on, and yours," he added to Tic Tac Toe.
"Why did you bury it?" asked the little pony and to her dismay, the goblin began to cry. "I hid all that was left of my Toy Shop inside it," he sobbed. "Look, boxes and boxes of games." "But what happened to your Toy Shop?" asked Baby Tiddly Winks.
"One day I sold Wizard Playalot a game. Like that one Tic Tac Toe's looking at," explained the goblin.
"It's a sort of Tic Tac Toe game, like our names," he continued. "But Wizard Playalot couldn't play it."
"What do you mean, he couldn't play it?" asked Tic Tac Toe. "It's a wonderful game. Did you make it up?"
"Yes," sighed the goblin, "but you can't get three the same in a row. So Wizard Playalot made my Toy Shop disappear."
"You can get three in a row with these," said Baby Tiddly Winks. "I know," nodded the goblin. "I carry those discs with me all the time in case I meet the wizard. Then I could give them to him and his game would work... and he might..."
"The game works!" said Tic Tac Toe. "You have to spell a word with letters of the same colour. Go and get the wizard."
When Tic Tac Toe taught the wizard to play the game, he brought the Toy Shop back. "It belongs to both of us," smiled the goblin.
My Little Pony Club Page
Hello, We've had so many letters from you asking for more things to make and more games to play so we know you'll enjoy making and playing this game. It's called Spelling Tic Tac Toe. First you need to make the games board and the letter discs. An empty cereal packet is good for this. Younger readers should ask a grown up for help! Cut the large front piece from the cereal box. On the plain side of it, draw your games board. You need to draw nine equal squares, it shows you how in the diagram below. Then make about twenty discs by drawing round a 2p coin. Look at the diagram and, using red and black, copy the letters onto your discs. Ask a grown up to cut out the discs and the games board. Two of you can play the game. One has the red lettered discs and the other the black lettered discs. Taking it in turns, you must try and make a three letter word in any straight line. Of course, if you have chosen the red letters, your word must be made up of all red letters. It's just like noughts and crosses, but you spell a word in black or a word in red instead of getting a row of O's or X's.
Make the games board and two lots of letter discs. Make ten red letters and ten black letters.

ROSEDUST AND THE SNOWFLAKE PRINCESS
Although the days were growing colder, in Flower Bower the Flutter Ponies still basked in the sun...
"Come along, time for tea," called Cloud Puff. "Strawberries and cream and cloud marshmallow cakes!"
"Have you some to spare for a very special guest?" asked the Weather Witch. "I've brought someone to see you!"
"It's the Snowflake Princess!" called the Flutter Ponies in delight. "Blanchette, you are very welcome! We know that it is not often you are allowed to leave the Snow Palace!" "The Snowmen Guards are afraid that I will melt in the sun," explained the princess.
"Blossoms and seeds, would you melt?" asked Tropical Breeze. "Of course not," said the princess. "But the guards would."
"My Snow Godmother sprinkled me with magic ice water at my christening so that I could go wherever I wished!"
"Then why don't you come and see us?" asked Wing Song. "Because of the wicked Snow Sorcerer," cried the princess.
"Majesty told me about him," said Rosedust. "He too can travel around because of his strong ice magic and he wants to be king!"
"Let us not talk about him," begged the princess. "How I envy your pretty flowers! None grow in the palace gardens!"
"Our snowball bush blooms on the hottest day," laughed Rosedust. "Shall we have a snowball fight? Others grow quickly!"
"What fun," laughed Blanchette. "When the snowballs hit you they're warm, then they dissolve into cool water. How refreshing! I wish I had some in my palace gardens." "We'll send you some," promised Rosedust. Suddenly the sorcerer arrived.
"Since you like it here, you can stay," he cried. "I shall be king of all the land. You won't return before snow-night!"
"Princess Blanchette, have no fear, Crystal Dove, now appear," called Rosedust. "Utter flutter, ponies!"
"Crystal Dove, take Blanchette home," ordered Rosedust, "Snowball blossoms turn cold and hard. Grow in size and fill the sky. Block the path of the Snow Sorcerer so he can't follow. Flutter ponies, guard him as well! The sun his magic will wear away! Until then, he must stay!"
"Well done, ponies," said Rosedust as at last the Snow Sorcerer slid down and slunk away looking very ashamed.
Rosedust kept her promise. A lovely snowball bush grew in the royal gardens. In the middle sat the Crystal Dove!
Have you got a snowball bush in your garden? Did you know it only blooms in SUMMER?
STORYTIME AT DREAM CASTLE
The Story So Far
The baby ponies had heard some exciting stories from Majesty's visitors. Jack Frost and Jimmy Ice had told a picture story, the Storyteller had told a story about an invisible dragon but the best story of all had been a true one. Drusilla, wife of the Christmas Giant, had told the ponies they would see the wedding of her daughter inside the magic mountain that was part of the Land of Christmas. Baby Half Note had been invited to dance at the wedding. Drusilla wanted to learn how to dance and Majesty had agreed to let Baby Half Note go to the Land of Christmas to teach Drusilla. They were to leave first thing in the morning. But in the morning the little ponies were going to get a terrible shock!
The Story Continues
After tea, Megan helped Nurse Gusty get the newborn twins ready for bed. All the baby ponies were staying at Dream Castle for the night. "I wish I could stay, too," laughed Megan, "but Wind Whistler had better take me home now." "You'll come and visit the Land of Christmas, won't you?" asked Sundance anxiously. "Of course I will," promised Megan. "I wouldn't miss Baby Half Note's wedding dance for Drusilla's daughter!" "We'll go now, too," said Jack and Jimmy. "We've got lots of frost and ice to make. We'll take the snow dog with us." "WOOF!" barked the snow dog, "I must lick Baby Lickety goodbye. She's my favourite baby pony, you know." All the ponies laughed as the dog put out his enormous tongue. "Don't knock me over!" said Baby Lickety-Split in alarm. "I won't," promised the snow dog. "I'd like to say goodbye to the newborn twins as well." "You can't," said Nurse Gusty firmly. "They're fast asleep." "And that's where you should be, baby ponies, " said Majesty. "Go on, off to bed." So the baby ponies called goodnight to everyone and hurried away to the special bedroom Majesty had prepared for them. "We mustn't wake the newborn twins," whispered Baby Half Note. "All four of them are fast asleep," she added, after peeping into the room they were sharing with Gusty. It had been a busy day and it wasn't long before everyone in Dream Castle was fast asleep. Even the Storyteller fell asleep while he was telling himself a story, he was sleeping in the throne room and his snores filled the air! Baby Half Note woke very early in the morning. She was excited about her visit to the Land of Christmas. As she lay thinking of the dance she's perform at the wedding, she heard the newborn twins playing in the next room. "I'll go and play with them," she whispered to herself. "I won't be seeing them for a long time, I am going to miss them." The baby pony danced quietly into their room. "There's only three of you," she gasped, looking around. "Where's Dibbles?" "What's the matter?" asked Nurse Gusty, waking up quickly. "I can't see Dibbles anywhere," said Baby Half Note. "She won't be far away," smiled Gusty. "I'll call her." But Dibbles didn't appear and even Gusty began to feel worried. "Go and look in all the rooms downstairs," she told Baby Half Note. "I'll look up here." Before long, everyone was awake and searching for Dibbles. "Maybe Muddle the Magician has muddled a spell again," said Baby Cotton Candy. "Remember last time when he made all the newborn twins go to his cavern by mistake?" "It wasn't Muddle this time," said Majesty, feeling puzzled. "I can't think what's happened and I can't look into my magic mirror, I sent it to be cleaned yesterday." "Maybe the mirror cleaner took Dibbles," wailed Baby Cuddles. "Don't be silly, the mirror cleaner wasn't here last night and Dibbles was," said Baby Half Note. "Besides, Tam the tinker cleans the mirror and he's our friend." "Well, maybe the enormous snow dog swallowed her," Baby Cuddles wailed louder and louder. "I'll call him in to swallow you in a minute," said Baby Lickety-Split. "He's outside, I can hear him barking." "I don't suppose she could have crept into the pages of my book, could she?" wondered the Storyteller. "I got trapped in my book once until Baby Glory and her friends rescued me." He turned all the pages over and the babies held their breath. But Dibbles wasn't there. "She's nowhere outside," reported Spike. "I've searched everywhere." Baby Shady passed her sunglasses to Majesty. "I can't see her through them," she said, "but you might be able to, Majesty." "I can't understand it," sighed Majesty, "I've always known before if any of my ponies are in danger. This time, I don't know anything. Are you sure she was in her bassinet when you went to bed, Gusty?" "I tucked her in, I know she was there, I saw her," said Gusty. Suddenly, Dream Castle shook and trembled. Baby Cuddles wasn't the only one to cry then! But it was only Drusilla walking downstairs. In the worry and excitement everyone forgot about the giantess, who'd been sleeping in the turret room right at the very top of the Castle. "Look what I found inside my slipper," she boomed. "One newborn twin. I've forgotten which one she is, but she's been having a lovely time tickling my toes. They're bigger than her, you know." Dibbles chuckled loudly and flapped her tiny wings. "Wings tickle big toes," she gurgled. Drusilla wriggled her toes and Dibbles fluttered to the ground. "Dibbles can fly," she said proudly. All the ponies laughed, even Nurse Gusty who should have been cross with Dibbles for going up to the turret room all on her own. Spike couldn't think how she'd managed to get up there. "She must have turned invisible like the dragon in the story," he said, "and just floated up there." "I don't know how or when she came up," said Drusilla. "I found her when I went to put my slipper on, I didn't know you were all looking for her." "Never mind," laughed Majesty, twirling her magic horn to make a wonderful breakfast appear. "She's safe, that's all that matters. We'll have breakfast now and then it will be time for you to take Baby Half Note to the Land of Christmas.
You'll be able to read all about the Land of Christmas in your next issue of MY LITTLE PONY COMIC.
THE STONE GIANT SPEAKS AGAIN!
"Heavy hooves, I'm glad that I don't have to stand out here in the cold! Poor old stone giant!" said Tutti Frutti.
"Whizzer, is it really true... that the giant speaks when a friend is in trouble?" asked Tutti Frutti. "Yes, and only the pony who hears him may go on the quest to help," said Whizzer. "But the giant hasn't spoken for a long time!"
"Come along, Majesty's got hot oat cakes waiting at Dream Castle," called Gingerbread. Only Tutti Frutti lingered.
Suddenly the giant spoke. Tutti Frutti jumped! "Little pony, don't be afraid, A friend will come soon to seek your aid!"
Just then Prince Drogo ran up. "Please help me," he called. "The wicked Snow Witch put an icedrop necklace around the neck of Princess Flavia, and now she won't wake up! When I try to take the necklace away, it burns my fingers! Look there in the Magic Pool."
Suddenly the giant spoke again. "You both must seek what it will melt. A ray of dawn before the shortest day."
"Rest awhile in Dream Castle and then we will climb through the sunset to reach the dawn cave," said Tutti Frutti.
But, later, the sunset looked red and fierce. "I hope we can get through safely," said Drogo. "Amazing Oranges, so do I," replied Tutti Frutti. "If only the sunset was as soft as... oh, what a lucky day... the sunset's made of jelly. We can walk through easily!"
But, at the end of the sunset was... the dark cavern of night! "How will we ever get through?" asked Drogo.
"I can see a tiny hole. If only we were lucky enough to squeeze through," said Tutti Frutti. Suddenly the hole grew.
Tutti Frutti and the Prince climbed in and found themselves falling down and down a deep dark tunnel... until...
...they landed at the bottom... only to find another tunnel leading out of the blackness. There was a light at the end.
At the end of the tunnel sat the Dawn Fairy. She was busy filling her dawn spray with pink morning dawn rays. "I'm rather busy," she said/ "It is almost time to light the dawn! What do you want?" Tutti Frutti quickly told her why they had come.
"My rays are precious," said the Dawn Fairy. "What will you give me in exchange for this small bottle?"
"I have only my sword," said Drogo. "But it is yours!" But the fairy just laughed. "I want something better!"
"How about a birthday candle?" asked Tutti Frutti. "It will light up the dark cavern so that you won't be afraid!"
"Majesty told me it will never burn out or harm anyone... it's an enchanted candle." "I'll take it," said the fairy.
"Slide down a dawn ray into the palace garden," said the fairy. "Hurry, you will just be in time!"
As the prince poured the rays into the necklace, it melted... and Tutti Frutti returned to tell her friends of her quest.

SNIFFLES AND SNOOKUMS IN MISCHIEF
"Look at that!" said Sniffles. "Whatever can it be?" "I don't know," replied Snookums. "Shall we go and see?"
Nurse Gusty was in the kitchen, making currant bread. Dibbles and Nibbles were sleeping, they had just been fed.
"Hurry up, Sniffles!" Snookums giggled with delight. "Push the playpen harder, we're moving it all right."
"It's hard work!" sighed Sniffles. "Twirl your unicorn horn about. We'll blow the playpen over, then we can get out."
Snookums' baby unicorn horn made a gentle breeze. The playpen blew right over, as Sniffles started to sneeze!
"We've done it," whispered Snookums. "I can't wait to see, what's underneath the games chest and sparkling prettily."
"It is pretty," said Sniffles. "I don't know what it's for." "I do," laughed his twin. "We pull it around the floor."
"I'll try and jump on it," said Sniffles. "What a lovely game to play." "Yes it is," said Snookums, "we'll play it every day."
"Don't jump on it, Sniffles!" Nurse Gusty came through the door. "It's a special paper chain, I'll show you what it's for."
Gusty hung up the paper chain. "We're sorry," Snookums said. "I think we have been naughty, we'll put ourselves to bed."
Gusty smiled happily as the newborn twins hurried away. She could hardly wait for them to have their first Christmas Day!
This story was for everyone who asked for a My Little Pony rhyming story.

THE CHRISTMAS WEDDING
The Christmas Giant had sent an enormous sleigh to take the little ponies to the Land of Christmas.
"Where is the Land of Christmas, Spike?" asked Fiery. "In Pixie Land," replied Spike. "Every year the pixies have a special Christmas Market in the Market Place. The Christmas Giant carries the Land of Christmas to the market on his shoulders."
"All the ponies have a stall," laughed Powder. "You can buy all sorts of spells and magical things."
"We'll have to buy a spell to stop Spiny being clumsy," laughed Flash, as Spiny tumbled into the sleigh.
"I can't wait to go inside the magic mountain in the Land of Christmas," said Princess Pearl happily.
"I can't wait to see the Christmas wedding!" shouted Fiery. "I've never seen a giant get married before."
"Our sister's wedding will be the biggest wedding anyone has ever seen," laughed on of the giant sleigh pullers. "Is everyone ready? Can we go now?" "Yes, we're ready," Majesty told him. And the sleigh set off, Wind Whistler flying above whistling merrily.
The giants were very strong and the sleigh moved quickly. Before long, hey arrived in Pixie Land.
"Here's the Christmas Giant!" called Spike. "He looks cross, something must be wrong." The giant strode towards them...
"There will be no Christmas wedding," boomed the giant. "The... the..." "He's crying," whispered Princess Pearl, and tears streamed down her face, too. Just then Baby Half Note ran up. "The key to the wedding chest has disappeared," she told them.
"Can't you break the chest open?" sobbed Princess Pearl. "No, it's made from everlasting ice," explained Baby Half Note. "Even the Christmas Giant can't break it. Spells don't work either," she added. "Only the key can open it."
"Take me to the chest," said Locket. "I'm sure I'll find a key to open it, but I'll need to pixies to help me."
Locket touched her rump and soon every pixie was holding a key. One by one they tried to open the chest. Locket watched anxiously.
Meanwhile, Majesty and the other little ponies were trying to comfort Drusilla, the giant's wife, and Vervain her daughter. Princess Pearl was crying and the little ponies hoped a teardrop might turn into a wishing pearl.
"My wedding rind is made of pearls," said Vervain sadly. "Here's my father, ask him to show it you."
"The Christmas Giant took a velvet box out of his pocket. He opened it then shouted loudly...
"The key!" he shouted. "I put it here to keep it safe!" "I'm so glad," sighed Locket, coming in. "My keys wouldn't work at all."
Vervain hurried away to get ready for her wedding. Baby Half Note and Drusilla danced after her.
Later, when the ceremony took place, Princess Pearl cried tears of joy. The time her tears turned to pearls. Enough pearls to make a wedding necklace for Vervain. And Baby Half Note danced proudly with Drusilla at the happiest wedding there'd ever been!
THE ENORMOUS CHRISTMAS CRACKER
The baby ponies were stringing up their Christmas cards. The newborn twins were chattering happily.
"What's that?" asked Dibbles, looking at a card shaped like a stocking. "It's a Christmas stocking," said Baby Tiddly Winks. "We'll all hang one up tonight and Pony Christmas will fill it with toys and sweets." Nibbles fluttered her baby wings.
"I'll fly, too," laughed Dibbles and she fluttered her wings. "You've blown the cards down," sighed Baby Tiddly Winks.
"I've caught one," said Snookums. "What's this, Baby Tiddly Winks?" "It's a Christmas cracker," said the baby pony.
"The newborn twins don't know anything about Christmas," whispered Spike who was outside the playroom door with Brandy and Twinkles. "Confetti is making a Pony Christmas costume for Masquerade. Let's go and ask her to make us an enormous cracker!"
"That's a good idea," said Gusty, coming up behind them. "Confetti could make a cracker big enough for..."
Back at Dream Castle, Confetti laughed as Spike, Brandy and Twinkles told her the idea. "You'll have to help," she said.
"Roaring dragons! We want to help," shouted Spike. "We love sticking pieces of paper together." "You'll have to leave holes for your legs," warned Confetti. "And smaller holes we can see through," barked Brandy. "I've never been a cracker before!"
It was tea time before the cracker was ready. Spike, Brandy and Twinkles got inside it. They were carrying four stockings, one for each of the newborn twins. Very carefully, peeping through the eye holes, they walked over to Lullaby Nursery. Confetti followed.
Gusty saw the cracker and called to the newborn twins and the baby ponies. "Come and look out of the window!"
"Christmas cracker!" shouted Snookums. Dibbles and Nibbles fluttered their wings. They were so excited!
Gusty hurried to let the cracker in. "Say 'magic manes' and see what happens," Baby Ribbon told the twins. They did and the cracker burst open. "Christmas stockings!" gasped Dibbles. "Now we've got stockings for Pony Christmas to fill as well!"
THE CHRISTMAS FAIRY
"Hello," smiled Tutti Frutti, "Happy Christmas Day to you." "I'm not happy," sighed the fairy, "I don't know what I do. I've got to find someone Who needs a fairy like me To be a Christmas Fairy On a Christmas Tree. I'm too tiny for most trees And I can't even fly, My wings aren't magic yet, you see!" The fairy began to cry. "Don't cry," said Tutti Frutti, "I'm giving a birthday party today, I need someone special like you, Jut come with me, this way..." Very soon the fairy Was on a Christmas Tree. "I'm sure this was made," she laughed, "Especially for me." Tutti Frutti smiled As she packed the Christmas birthday cake For the snowman's birthday party Being held by Frosty Lake. Now the Christmas Fairy Lives very happily, By the side of Frosty Lake In her tiny Christmas Tree!
ICE CRYSTAL AND THE NAUGHTY NIXIES
One morning Rosedust was awakened by the sound of galloping hooves. It was one of the Mountain Boy Ponies.
"Hello," called Ice Crystal. "It's grand to see you all again so soon. Have you had breakfast yet? My early morning gallop has made me feel so hungry." "You mountain boys are always hungry," laughed Tropical Breeze, offering him a large bowl of honey toasted oats.
"Why have you come so early?" asked Wind Drifter. "Thundercloud sent me. He said that you would soon need my help!"
"Help... why should we need your help?" asked Rosedust. "Because the Naughty Nixies are coming here!" called Wing Song.
The Flutter Ponies gazed at Wing Song in dismay. The Naughty Nixies were horrid elfin folk who played nasty tricks.
"Majesty sent Spike to warn us," said Wing Song. "They've decided that Flower Bower would be a lovely place to live!"
"It will be a horrid place if the Naughty Nixies stay," declared Tropical Breeze. "We must make them go away... what can we do?" "Make quite sure that they don't want to stay," grinned Ice Crystal. "Have you forgotten something?" "What?" asked the Flutter Ponies.
"Naughty Nixies hate the cold," said Ice Crystal. "So with my help, we'll make them shake and shiver!"
"Here they come now. Be polite and leave the rest to me," Ice Crystal said. "Be ready when I need you!"
"We've come to stay. It's lovely and warm here. We're going to live right here... by this lovely pool. We all love to swim each day!" stated Wix, the Chief Nixie. "You're welcome to stay as long as you wish," replied Roesdust politely.
"Wind and breeze, we'll never get rid of them," sighed Wind Drifter. "Look how they're trampling on the flowers!"
"What's Ice Crystal doing?" asked Wing Song. "He's blowing down the chimneys," said Wind Drifter. "It looks like frost!"
"Hurray, look, all the houses are covered in frost. It must be chilly inside," laughed Tropical Breeze.
It was! Wix and the Naughty Nixies came running out looking very cross! "Let's take a dip to get warm!" Wix shouted.
"We'll never get them out. They're enjoying themselves too much," sighed Wing Song. Ice Crystal grinned at her.
"I will!" he cried. He opened his mouth and the air grew cold... so cold that the water began to freeze!
"The pool's freezing! Jump out before we're caught," said Wix. "Then run about in the sun to get warm again!"
But Ice Crystal blew again and the ground was covered with frost... and a very slippery slide! "I'm falling!" cried Wix.
"What's happened to Flower Bower? It's like the North Pole!" shivered Wix. "Let's move on!" "We'll help you," laughed Rosedust. "Utter flutter, ponies!" The flutter ponies rose and the beating of their wings sent the Naughty Nixies on their way.

Hello, I am glad I helped the Christmas Fairy have a Happy Christmas. I expect all of you will be making decorations this week. Here is a Christmas Fairy for you to make.
You need a spring clothespeg, thin white card, coloured pencils, paste, glitter, sticky tape and a pair of round-headed scissors. Ask a grown up to help with the cutting out. Trace the diagrams A, B and C onto your card and cut them out. Use pale yellow to colour both sides of the wings (B) and the crown (top of A). Then use a small amount of paste on the wings and crown and sprinkle your glitter over the paste. Colour the fairy's face and hair. Curl the skirt around and use sticky tape to secure it to the clothespeg. Fold up the arm section, curl the glittered crown around and secure with sticky tape. Then paste this section to the SIDE of the clothespeg. Fold the wings and paste them to the BACK of the clothespeg. You can now clip your Christmas Fairy to a branch of your Christmas Tree.
