I wasn't sure if I actually joined this before.. but I looked and I didn't seem to have. X3
This is TheMonokeros from the Arena! ^-^ Just figured I would poke my nose around in here and see what was what! My herd is comprised of mostly ponies nobody wanted anymore, or I snagged up because they just looked like they needed homes! The herd is really small compared to other herds, but I love them all the same. Even ones like Posey, with her rubbed off fur and marked up body... or Starflash, who has no face because a dog bit it off. X3
Anyway!
Hurro everyone! *waves!*

Hello there! Thanks for joining. I often see you around the Arena - glad you made it over here. Everyone who loves baity ponies is more than welcome here! I'm hoping to renovate the site soon, so there should be more on here then... *Fingers crossed* Enjoy yourself, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. See you around the boards! Desiree

Welcome, pony pal! Always great to meet a new friend; especially one who loves poorly ponies as much as myself. ;D
I have a Starflash with a dog-bitten nose too. Small world, eh??

Hi, I'm new here. I am a 70 year old lady with 5 ponies and 2 horses. I started with Licorice, a Hackney pony who was 3 when I bought her. It was the dream of my life to own a black pony as a child. I pastured her with a client's horses ( I am a clinical social worker). The kids in the family and mom were being abused by the dad and I was hoping that the pony would help them heal. The dad kept bringing in horses and they bred to my pony twice without my permission. He sold one of them and I now have the last one who is half Peruvian Paso and very pretty. Licorice had a filly about a year after I bought her ( Gracie), who is my love. Both Gracie and Licorice were bred to a Palomino quarter horse and both had fillys April 27th. I take care of all these, plus the client's full size paint mare ( the abusive husband left her with seven children in December). I also adopted a 2 year old Palomino filly who was starving and had been kicked in the head. She has nerve damage to her lip and it droops but I love her very much and she is doing so much better. The young couple whom I buy hay from helped me worm all of them and I am learning and studying all I can to take better and better care of them. I may not be able to keep them all but am committed to seeing to it that their lives get better and better. I purchased the Parelli material and am learning to play the games with them. They are all gentle and it is one of the joys of my life to go to them. I pasture them at a farm north of where I live that is owned by a 90 year old lady. I would dearly love to have some acreage of my own for them. I guess I would like to hear from others and gain some support and encouragement from those who also love horses and ponies. I want to be realistic about what I can and cannot do as well. But throughout last winter, as bad as it was, I went up there every day to care for them. Thanks for letting me share, Barbara in Missouri
